[OVERVIEW]

Naganadel's high base Speed and strong typing leads makes it one of the best Tailwind setters in the tier. Generation 8's dynamic speed mechanics make its Tailwind very valuable in the speed control games, while its Dragon / Poison typing lets it match up favorably into common Pokemon such as Rillaboom, Tapu Fini, and Urshifu-R. Naganadel's Tailwind utility is appreciated on many structures, but shines brightest on Offensive archetypes where teammates such as Heatran, Zygarde, and Urshifu-R can get an immediate speed boost and start firing off strong attacks. Naganadel appreciates all three of the Pokemons' ability to deal with Heatran and other Steel-types, while in return Naganadel deals with Tapu Fini as well as Rillaboom for the latter two. However, Naganadel is completely useless into Heatran, and its frailty leaves it susceptible to being KOed early, therefore limiting its potential to set up multiple Tailwinds. It also struggles into opposing forms of speed control, especially Trick Room, and usually can't fit Protect in its repertoire, both of which expose its poor bulk even more. Lack of Protect additionally means it cannot block the everpresent Fake Out and instead must rely only on its partner keeping it safe. Lastly, Naganadel cannot afford to make wrong calls when attacking as much as most other Pokemon, since a failed turn usually ends in it getting KOed.

[SET COMMENTS]

* Draco Meteor threatens common Dragon-types such as Kyurem-B and Zygarde, while acting as its strongest move into Pokemon it checks such as Urshifu-R and Volcanion. However, the Special Attack drop usually forces it off the field as its damage output is no longer as useful.

* Sludge Bomb covers Rillaboom and Tapu Fini, with the latter being the most common Dragon-type immunity. It's also helpful for picking up KOes on weakened targets without dropping Naganadel's Special Attack.

* Flamethrower targets Steel-types such as Genesect and Metagross that Naganadel's STAB moves are useless against, but it notably cannot touch Heatran.

* As one of the fastest Tailwind setters, Naganadel can quickly give a speed boost to its teammates to gain the upper hand.

* Max Special Attack and Speed combined with a Timid nature and Life Orb let Naganadel hit as hard and fast as possible.

Other Options
=============

Fire Blast can be run over Flamethrower to 2HKO Amoonguss through Sitrus Berry, but its low accuracy leaves a lot to be desired. Protect can be used over Fire-type coverage to keep Naganadel safe from Fake Out and other attacks, but then it cannot touch Steel-types. Naganadel also has access to Spikes and Toxic Spikes, but requires it to give up a moveslot it usually can't afford to. Focus Sash can be used to live any one hit and guarantee setting up at least one Tailwind, but Naganadel's damage output is significantly reduced in return.

"immediate tailwind" should be reserved for prankster setters, just reword this to say fast/relatively reliable

its damage output sucks after a draco and is a little prediction reliant to use correctly as an offensive tool (whiff a hit and you're probably dead because of it), work those into the ov

iffy on calling it the fastest setter because of the aforementioned prankster comments (torn is seeing scl usage so you cant quite write it off etc). fast for sure though

focus sash is okay as an item, lets you go for tailwind a bit more safely and attack on a following turn or vice versa. bad damage output v apparent

qc 1/2 get

AM check! implement as you wish :3

[OVERVIEW]
  • I would mention how Naganadel can struggle to break past bulkier Pokemon occasionally, especially when factoring in Draco drops. Porygon2 and Diancie are the first two that come to mind, so you might be able to weave it into how Naganadel struggles against Trick Room. (However the drawbacks section is quite long already, and elaborating on the speed control point would enlarge it considerably)
  • Tapu Fini's Misty Terrain might be worth a slight mention, because Draco is it's main source of damage. I would also probably mention Rillaboom as a good partner because of Fake Out/terrain control/handling Diancie (Zeraora might also be good because of Taunt preventing opposing speed control and it still has Fake Out)
[SET COMMENTS]
  • Beast Boost speed boost could be mentioned for getting the drop on Scarf Genesect and Dragapult after a KO, which is small, but still notable.

  • Looks good.
