How do I sign up?
Players should sign up as teams of three (provide a team name and an optional logo) with each player being assigned a particular format OR as free agents while stating their format preferences. If you sign up as a free agent, you will be assigned on a team of other free agents. For example, I am to form a team with AReallyShiftyGuy and BIGSHOT_ranger, and the signup post (official) looks like this:

Please note: Free agents are not guaranteed a place in the tournament and will only be added if a valid trio can be formed.

All standard tournament rules and guidelines apply, as well as all National Dex 35 Pokes Rules. This means that ghosting is not allowed, including from teammates. If we catch you ghosting, you'll be disqualified and potentially punished. REPLAYS ARE MANDATORY. Battles should be played on the main PS! server or SmogTours using the challenge codes as mentioned below.

What if I'd like to form a trio but haven't found enough players?

If you'd like to sign up but haven't managed to pull together a trio yet, you're in luck--#looking-for-trios in the official 35 Pokes discord server has been created exactly for this purpose! You are highly encouraged to form your own trio; free agency, as stated above, is an option, but will not guarantee you a place in the tournament. If you do sign up as a free agent, please consider reaching out to other free agents to form a team before the signup deadline Monday, December 16th at noon PST to guarantee yourselves a place in the tour!


Clarifications/Updates:

  • Each team is permitted to have up to one substitute player in addition to their main 3 players
  • All challenge codes have been updated to use the "gen9nationaldex35pokes" format instead of "gen9nationaldexag"

How do I sign up?

Week 1 Matchups and Tournament Schedule

Week 1 matchups are here but, before I get to those, this is how the tournament will work:

  • The tournament will consist of a "regular season" groups stage, from which the top 8 performing teams will advance to single-elimination playoffs
    • The groups stage will last for 3 weeks and playoffs will last between 3-4 weeks
  • All sets between individual players will be best of 1 by default, but you and your opponent are permitted to gentlemen best of 3 if you so choose
  • Replays are required
