The chivalrous knight defends Psychic teams against special walls like Alolan Muk and Heatran and breaks through Steel's defensive core that its teams struggle against. Close Combat muscles past Dark- and Steel-types like Ting-Lu and Hisuian Goodra while also OHKOing Celesteela at +2 after Stealth Rock damage. Triple Axel targets Flying- and Dragon-types like the Landorus formes, Mandibuzz, and Dragonite. At +2, Earthquake shatters Gholdengo and Toxapex. Alternatively, Knock Off lets Mega Gallade remove items like Rocky Helmet from foes like Skarmory, making them easier to handle, and it helps against Slowbro. Tapu Lele partners well with Mega Gallade, threatening Mega Sableye and providing Psychic Terrain to block priority moves like Scizor's Bullet Punch and Bisharp's Sucker Punch while appreciating the removal of the aforementioned special walls. Choice Scarf Iron Boulder can eliminate opposing Choice Scarf users like Blacephalon and Meowscarada. In return, it benefits from Mega Gallade weakening or outright removing walls like Hippowdon. Slowbro and Jirachi provide safe entry to Mega Gallade and form a defensive backbone against physical and special attackers, respectively.

Der edle Ritter schützt Psychic-Teams vor speziellen Walls wie Alolan Muk und Heatran und durchbricht den defensiven Stahlkern, mit dem diese Teams sonst große Schwierigkeiten haben. Close Combat walzt durch Unlicht- und Stahl-Pokémon wie Ting-Lu und Hisuian Goodra und OHKOt Celesteela auf +2 nach Stealth Rock-Schaden. Triple Axel zielt auf Flug- und Drachen-Pokémon wie die Landorus-Formen, Mandibuzz und Dragonite. Auf +2 zerbricht Earthquake Pokémon wie Gholdengo und Toxapex. Alternativ erlaubt ihm Knock Off, Items wie Rocky Helmet von Gegnern wie Skarmory zu entfernen, wodurch diese leichter zu handhaben sind, und es unterstützt Mega Gallade außerdem im Kampf gegen Slowbro. Tapu Lele harmoniert hervorragend mit ihm, da es Mega Sableye bedroht und Psychic Terrain bereitstellt, das Prioritätsattacken wie Scizors Bullet Punch und Bisharps Sucker Punch blockiert. Gleichzeitig profitiert Tapu Lele davon, dass Mega Gallade die zuvor erwähnten speziellen Walls entfernt oder schwächt. Choice Scarf-Iron Boulder kann gegnerische Choice Scarf-Nutzer wie Blacephalon und Meowscarada zuverlässig ausschalten. Im Gegenzug profitiert es davon, dass es Walls wie Hippowdon schwächt oder komplett beseitigt. Slowbro und Jirachi ermöglichen Mega Gallade einen sicheren Einstieg ins Spiel und bilden gemeinsam ein defensives Rückgrat gegen physische bzw. spezielle Angreifer.
