Project National Dex Bazaar

Didn't build that much since CL since I found what works (and spammed it) or received help on obtaining a team. Here is whatever I actually made (with help(also a bunch of attached yap)).

Used in Circuit Tours
:mew: :garchomp: :diancie mega: :zamazenta: :volcarona: :celesteela:
I was reminded one day that mew had a whole z move to itself, so it had to be used. Plot mew is quite strong when its hitting super effective, and genesis supernova setting up psychic terrain make it harder to remove by mons like kingambit and raging bolt. Chomp is a strong partner as mew can force damage on/ko the steels which wall chomp and check the fighters who revenge kill garchomp. Getting terrain up is fantastic for limiting counterplay to scale chomp as well. Chomp in return smashes heatran and brings speed to the limited mew. Mdia is a great rocker, with magnet rise being a freaky tech which lets it 1v1 treads, tank chomp, gliscor, grounds in general. ID press zama is an oppressive force who can sweep at the drop of a hat depending on the 4th move. In this case it is heavy slam since so far the fairies are greater threats to the team than gholdengo, who is fried by the first three mons. This is kept up with the addition of volcarona, who can match up and sweep some offenses in return with hp ice eliminating the idea of dragonite, tank chomp or bulky lando as answers. There are a lot of things the last slot must cover: fairy answer, ground immune, toxic switch in, and speed. Celesteela checked all the boxes and provides the flier lure in meteor beam to boot. If there was one thing i didn't like was the toxapex mu, which can be fixed with psychic over hp ice (which also takes advantage of genesis supernova asw).

:iron hands: :cresselia: :samurott hisui: :terapagos: :garchomp: :diancie mega:
Ron hands is a trade god so the idea is that you get one kill with hands and then get another after lunar dance. Enough attack is invested to ohko great tusk at +2 after a headlong rush while you heal off any other move. The defense investment is enough to take a headlong after rocks, and the rest of the stats are dumped into spdf. The rest of the team all have roles in the hazard game, pagos and diancie both prevent and remove while hamu and chomp set hazards with cleaning potential after hand's brutality.

:tornadus therian: :kyurem: :alomomola: :zamazenta: :iron treads: :ogerpon wellspring:
If you showed me this team in gen 8 I'd have a heart attack. 4 brokens + the unkillable special sponge accompanied with super excadrill. Fairly straight forward in the sense you break with torn, kyu and oger to clean with zama.

:landorus therian: :volcarona: :enamorus: :corviknight: :garchomp: :urshifu:
A bizarre offense based around SD 3a lando. Bulkarona pairs pretty well theoretically with this set as it enjoys lando crushing av mola, tank chomp, and birds while in return it checks kyurem, tusk and weavile. Enamorus is here because, healing wish. Also enjoys the same things fatty volc likes removed but with a higher than scarf ursh speed tier. Corv and chomp are the ever reliable hazard duo, one gets it off one gets it on. This urshifu set is kinda strange, I wanted to cram more breaking and pivoting in the last slot who can beat gambit so I ended up with this frankenfreddy of sorts. I don't think this team won any games, it's a hodge-podge of sets I find cool which should be on separate teams in hindsight.

:tapu lele: :zamazenta: :pecharunt: :ogerpon wellspring: :landorus therian: :iron treads:
I Wanted to build around fat cm lele so it was done. The hp benchmark lives yard fire blast and pon power whip from full and tusk headlong/shifu surging strikes after rocks, the speed creep chomp and the rest is dumped into sptk. Dkiss can top off your health on targets like garchomp and hp fire hits dengo/scizor harder. Since this could struggle vs gambit, zama is a nice partner who benefits from the terrain with psychic fangs. Pecharunt lessens the need for zama and lele to trade vs pon, ursh and opposing zama and is nice to bring them in with parting shot. Ogerpon good. Water res, pivoting and spikes all in one package though the set can really be anything. Lando and treads form the backbone of the hazard core with treads being av to better handle mdia, kyurem, and lele. Pretty much just a bunch of good mons put together.

:raging bolt: :meowscarada: :alomomola: :iron treads: :moltres: :zamazenta:
Pivot slop . I've grown to love specs bolt and meow here, just so much offense and anti offense between bolts power and meow's coverage. It helps that both can offensively answer ogerpon, which is fantastic for mola who can wish them back up to continue battering the opponent. Can't spell fatslop without iron treads, cramming the entire hazard game in one slot so the rest of the team can focus on their strengths. Moltres does this by...actually being able to slot toxic in order to fodderize dragons and fat waters. Zama last is a no brainer, checks everything and is one of the greatest cleaners of all time.

:victini: :kingambit: :urshifu: :tapu koko: :iron treads: :latios mega:
Idea here is that vic can sacrifice itself to trade with common answers like slowbro, toxapex, great tusk and latios while chunking alomomola and tank chomp for massive damage. The gambit is amazing for (kin)gambit since it powers up the pursuit for any high hp target (previous chunked mons) to be finished off. SD urshifu loves all the final gambit targets getting wiped and pursuit gambit potentially removing latios for it. Koko powers up victini's bolt strikes for specific endgames and prevents dondozo from healing back up. Treads compresses the entire hazard game and latios bolsters the ogerpon and sun mu while appreciating victini checking the moth.

:kommo-o: :iron crown: :ogerpon wellspring: :diancie mega: :pecharunt: :landorus therian:
Wanted to try out kommo-o due to its useful traits of bullying sun, pon and the darks. Its kinda fishy tho so the set double dips on the fish with clangsoul + soulblaze, with flame to cook dengo and taunt to stop toxapex haze and status from half the tier. Iron crown is another fringe pick who has some synergy with kommo-o by checking lele, diancie and scarfers such as ursh, lele and lando while kommo-o eats all the non ground hits who threaten crown while forcing damage on gholdengo, slowking and ting lu. Ogerpon is mandatory on offense. She enjoys the pressure kommo-o and crown put on dragons and steels and in return cudgels everything else with superpower being the coverage due to ferrothorn still being annoying and tblaze to add some speed to the team. Mdia is a super splashable rocker whose inherent rocks prevention (along with kommo-o taunt) is nice to give some lines to pivot around. Pech lets you cheat vs tspike teams and check offense killers mlop, zama, scarf ursh and woger with pivoting to boot. Last mon is dd lando for a bit of flavor, the ground immune who can make another mon's set up easier with intimidate. DD lando is just a set I like, with +2 soft sand eq hitting like a semitruck and has the flexibility to speed up and mess up some opposing lando endgames.

:heatran: :ogerpon wellspring: :garchomp: :tornadus therian: :scizor mega: :zeraora:
Specs heatran is cool and has an interesting tech with toxic. Toxic forces damage on stuff like av mola, tank chomp, chudnite and lu which are put into range for a full power eruption later (calcs below). Toxic conditions mons like slowking and gliscor into coming in only for them to get trucked by eruption (calcs below). Ogerpon and torn can bring in heatran with uturn and help to pivot into the toxic targets heatran would be a sitting duck to after using it. Chomp is the rocker who also spreads toxic and gets rocks up, the stronger fire res asw. All the mons on the team are hazard vulnerable, so defog msciz is a nice fit to provide pivoting and priority. A flavor pick at the very end was zeraora. Farium-z zera has its main issues in grounds like gliscor and landorus handily stopping it, aka mons blown up by specs tran and ogerpon. In return you get to answer off zama, chomp, latios, torn, lop and pon through sheer speed. A fun but very flawed spectacle.

252+ SpA Choice Specs Heatran Eruption (150 BP) vs. 8 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Alomomola: 153-181 (32.3 - 38.2%) -- 75.8% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and toxic damage
252+ SpA Choice Specs Heatran Eruption (150 BP) vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Vessel of Ruin Ting-Lu: 252-297 (49.1 - 57.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery and toxic damage
252+ SpA Choice Specs Heatran Eruption (150 BP) vs. 244 HP / 228+ SpD Gliscor: 357-420 (101.4 - 119.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Heatran Eruption (150 BP) vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Slowking-Galar: 181-214 (46 - 54.4%) -- 56.3% chance to 2HKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Heatran Eruption (150 BP) vs. 252 HP / 200+ SpD Garchomp: 169-200 (40.2 - 47.6%) -- 53.1% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock, Leftovers recovery, and toxic damage

:urshifu rapid strike: :tyranitar mega: :tapu lele: :tornadus therian: :excadrill: :ferrothorn:
Sand but freaky. Shifu ttar lele is a time tested core, quite flexible with which mon fits in with speed control, support and breaking. In this instance breaking was sd shifu, support was ttar and lele was the speed control. Tornadus, drill and ferrothorn each contribute to the hazard game as well, with tornadus bringing taunt, excadrill bringing fast bulky spin who can break dengo, and ferrothorn providing spikes. Drill spread lets you outspeed val in sand and ohko with iron head, max 49% from mola flip turn and tank dengo focus blast from full. Ferrothorn has a strange tech in explosion, but when building I felt that volcarona was going to be annoying so only lele actually lets it set up (screens not involved). The attack investment is there to put offensive rona close to sand/spikes range and pressure ogerpon more (53%) while still letting you take a mfire from full from mdia or mlati.

Unused (less tested)
:gholdengo: :weavile: :hatterene: :raging bolt: :landorus therian: :ogerpon wellspring:
Epack dengo was devised to position using mir to either bring in band vile or hatt against mons like ting lu, cinderace and landorus. Enough speed to outspeed modest bolt and the maximum greed of modest max sptk really accentuated the avarice accumulated from this set. Band vile sorta has its issue of getting in helped out by pack dengo getting it face to face vs its good mus (ground types). In return pursuit is nice for limiting the staying power scarf lele, yard and ace can have to be annoying, especially after eating a mir. Balloon hatt blocks ground rockers harder and has more leeway to spread para everywhere. Bolt is nice to check pon and fires and appreciates pack dengo denying ting lu progress and heavily chipping it. Lando gets up rocks and taunts to stop rocks, goat. Pon is kinda slapped on at the end to dumpster the defensive fires, deny hazards and healing with taunt, and to complete the pivot core.

:iron boulder: :tapu lele: :cinderace: :dragonite: :iron treads: :samurott hisui:
Boulder lele might be better than boulder koko imomo. Boulder's tendency to get clipped by half the game's priority due to its horrible defensive typing is nullified by lele's existence. Zen headbutt gets a power up to boot, notably gaining ko's on pecharunt and zama after a swords dance. Quake as the coverage of choice means you are frying ghold at the price of almost every other steel (ferro, balloon treads, balloon gambit), but that is mitigated with lele being the ferocious z-fighting cm set. Cinderace helps this duo set up by throwing out wisps while sponging hits from steels such as ghold in the stead of lele and boulder. Iron treads and hamu are chosen to finish out this hazard trio, av hamu picked to take general special hits better such as from mlati and pagos. Dragonite is there to check ogerpon, sun, and everything with outrage being over something reasonable like ice spinner in order to bulldoze through potential annoyances such as the bulky waters mola and slowbro. S/O 1yr for the help.

:hoopa unbound: :pecharunt: :zamazenta: :cinderace: :garchomp: :corviknight:
I like hoopa, kinda just hammers defense with its legendary offenses and coverage. AV really does jack up how absurd its special bulk is to be living +2 ghold NEN, latios dracos and specs lele moonblast. The terrible physical bulk is quite real and felt when using hoopa though, so it's paired with the other little devil pecharunt. The little guy soaks up ivy cudgels, surging strikes, uturns and crunches for breakfast and pivots out. Zama is the dawg, excellent cleaner/midgame check to almost every dangerous threat. Ace's wow is nice for fortifying the team vs physical attackers and the mon is the sole hazard control. Garchomp is the rocks guy + breaker who generally appreciates hoopa for cooking latios and in return picks up the slack vs volcarona. Corviknight acts as a lategame wincon who can pivot in the early/midgame vs physical fighters/waters/grounds, the whole rest of the team cooking dengo is a nice plus. If you want tho, making corv spdf defog also works to make the mdia mu bearable but you might have to restructure to not lose to tb pon or ursh.

As usual S/O the Mafia, WLA, South and SFS. None of these are really sample subs due to the...quirks. That being said they are a fun time so take em out for a spin.

sample team submission

been using this team and got to top 40 so i decided to try submitting the team to be a sample

:sv/Kyurem: :sv/Tyranitar-mega: :sv/Zapdos: :sv/Ferrothorn: :sv/Urshifu-Rapid-Strike: :sv/Gliscor:

side not excuse my grammer mistake and english spelling and thanks to ecxdee for giving suggestion to the team in rmt on discord and luster for using it on his video

Team Breakdown

:sv/Kyurem:
first pokemon is the star of the show, sub roost kyurem. its the standard kyurem set that can break down balance team by pp stalling or stealing games with freeze hax. it also act as a check to non boosted Ogerpon-Wellspring.

:sv/Tyranitar-mega:
Next up is Mega Tyranitar. i decided to not run sealth rocks as ferrothorn seem to run it better and replaced it with low kick which catches ting lu, gambit and ferrothorn off guard. with pursuit it can trap glowking which can stop kyurem from setting up sub and using freeze dry. i decided to not run max speed due to liking the bulk to survive mega charizard x plus earthquake but you can run max speed for any gholdengo trying to speed creep the standard mega Tyranitar. Its our answer to opposing kyurem

:sv/Zapdos:
Zapdos is used to stop id zama, shifu, mega lop and any other fighting type. its also used as our wellspring check incase ferrothorn gets destroyed by plus 2 sd (just pray you don't get crit by ivy or miss hurricane). it also pivoting with volt switching, bringing sp wall like ferrothorn or glowking. it also baits in ground type so you can double in kyurem.

:sv/Ferrothorn:
Ferrothorn. our second water resist and a fairy resist for the team. ferrothorn can set up rocks to support mega Tyranitar and kyurem wall breaking capability. it can help vs any wellspring along with iron val lacking fighting type and providing knock off support if tyranitar gets to low. you can run twave over knock off if you feel like tyranitar is enough for a knock off user.

:sv/Urshifu-Rapid-Strike:
Next up is urshifu which acts as our main speed control. it also can act as a pivot bringing in kyurem or tyranitar on its answer. it can act as a emergacy check to many set up pokemon like volcarona or dragonite.

:sv/Gliscor:
The final pokemon is gliscor which act as our defogger. With earthquake it can stop gholdengo from blocking defog and can spam toxic. its a standard sp def set which help vs sp attacker like iron val and volcarona. you bait out any z move with protect. toxic is there to be annoying and steal games with double protect and toxic.

the 2 main threats i found are

4 attack zama as it hits everthing super effective with its coverage . Zapdos can't take 2 stone edges as such pivoting with gliscor and zapdos is the main way i answered 4a zama

Fast z move goldengo can destroy the team if it gets a chance to set up a single nasty plot

Mini Dump Final Cover.png

A very small Teamdump of teams from pl+wc(and tours in-between), i'll make a bigger one later in the year im still gatekeeping a good amount of my stuff for now. These teams are all proven to work but as a builder my own style of play tends to show in alot of the spreads/sets. I hope that even if you don't see much success with these, you enjoy playing with them as they're all very fun and have all reached anywhere from Rank 50 to Rank 8 on ladder just while testing and not actively hunting rank 1. I assume since these are tour teams they'll probably be taken into consideration as samples, but i'll highlight the ones I think make most sense as "teams that represent a part of the metagame and are easy to use". That's all, Enjoy! (Click on the Team cards or the 6 pokemon icon for the paste)

ZamaDia Final 100.png

:zamazenta::diancie-mega::ferrothorn::landorus-therian::cinderace::slowbro:
I specifically wanted to play Darkness in WC while I was asking omar for their roster as I wanted to get my get back after giving him the win earlier this year in winter ssnl. This team was born out of trying to account for the modern meta in all its capacity since the circuit champ uses a decent variety of playstyles from Balance to Screens HO and his iconic rain. As such it's one of my few sample submission caliber teams in my opinion. Ace is fantastic "anti-cheese" with court change for screens/webs. Slowbro future sight+volt turn support lets diancie + zama break through common balance cores.Team is slightly Zap weak so I teched on Rockium Z to avoid having to play around volt switch hurricane heatwave mindgames. I like iron head on ferro to deal with Kyurem but team needs a knock off in order to make future sight + primary attack chip stick long term. If you are worried abt the Kyurem matchup simply l2p and position Diancie/Zama/Ace well. Ace/Lando/Za/Diancie are all pokemon volcarona can't set up on and can take hits from it at +1 (ignoring z moves of course). Overall a fun Diancie Pivot spam, managed to win it's game despite a poor endgame from me.

Weaknesses:
:Kyurem: , :Zapdos: , Scarf :urshifu-rapid-strike:

Possible edits:

SIZOGER.png

:Ogerpon-Wellspring::scizor-mega::Zamazenta::landorus-therian::Latios::Garchomp:
I used this the week I played vs PixelBob in this Swiss game. PB used alot of offenses and I think Scizor is a super underutilized anti offense pokemon especially in current meta. Bulky SD Siz has insane matchups into balances late game as well meaning it's not limited in which teams it is able to cover. Scizor also deals with kyurem pretty well so I figured I could go off of that and load pokemon that hate freeze dry but are ultimately very strong when that threat is taken care of. Z Latios is a crazy Nuke especially when paired with ChainChomp to weaken steels like ferro and corv.
LatiChomp also has a favourable offensive matchup into the main Defensive ghosts in the tier being Ghold/Pech which means idbp zama is able to cleanup very easily since the ghosts are quickly overwhelmed by the combination of Oger,Lati,Chomp and Siz. Scarf lando is scarf lando, still blanket checks majority of the tier. Ogerpon just helps in the overwhelming offense department, the team has scarf fog lando as its main form of hazard removal so to compensate it aims to win as fast as possible. Cause as much terror as possible throughout the game and clean with Scizor or Zama in the endgame.

Weaknesses
Scarf :samurott-hisui: / :urshifu-rapid-strike: can be annoying if you get the turns wrong , :diancie-mega:

Possible edits
:latios: : :choice-specs: or mystical fire 3a
:garchomp: : Spdef with :leftovers:
:ogerpon-wellspring: : Superpower or Trailblaze

Bird Brothers FINAL.png

:blaziken::iron-treads::dragonite::ogerpon-wellspring::Diancie-mega::Pecharunt:
This was used by Entrocefalo in Wc vs Ikaishi. S/o Leroipolux for suggesting we use offense that week, since that is ultimately what led to these 6 being used. Fun HO where Blaziken + Dragonite break through each others checks, especially with dragonite being able to sub on alo and setup for free. Pecharunt is an amazing answer to zamazenta and ogerpon as it does not need to do the job for a long time, just being able to toxic them is often enough if you play your cards right. Trailblaze pon is pretty nice in the current meta, Toxapex and Alo both lose to dnite so you don't really miss power whip while play rough helps blaziken by weakening the dragons that attempt to switch in. Booster steel beam treads is very good at its job, gets them up,spins them off and also prevents fog by steel beaming and dying. Diancie is great for helping in the hazard prevention effort and is also just strong in its own right. On a side note after building this team mrfraud had to call me out cuz a similar 5 had already been created by Isza which I found funny
1779052209523.png

Weaknesses:
Some stalls can be nasty for the team, especially since Oger isnt taunt or synth/horn leech
Opposing :diancie-mega: is also annoying if you get the turns wrong

Possible Edits:
:ogerpon-wellspring: : Taunt/Powerwhip
:Dragonite: : :Dragonium Z: with eq fire punch outrage is pretty consistent if you want to have the Z on it instead
:blaziken: : :life orb:/ :air balloon:/ :Leftovers: are all viable options that can be played around with, can also consider Adamant>Jolly
:iron treads: : :air balloon: to help in the ground matchup is another option

Ace Treads.png

:alomomola::melmetal::Iron-Treads::Latios-mega::Zamazenta::Cinderace:
Another team built for Entro used in ndwc vs Amaske. SpyOP had suggested using AV kyurem into Amaske, I liked the idea of using an assault vest pokemon but appreciated what melm did more so ended up deciding to use that. Melm checks basically everything besides Zard Y while Latios deals with that pretty well. Latios is Draco to help deal with slowbro which otherwise walls the team. Rock slide melm catches volcarona trying to fish for bash burns as well as moltres. Ace is here again to make the team solid into cheese with Z rockium zama to help get rid of Molt/Zap. Treads is ev'd to outspeed terapagos, Melmetal is EV's for something but this isn't a super in-depth teamdump so will not dig around looking for the calc

Weaknesses
:samurott hisui: and Sub IDBP :zamazenta: if crunch drops do not go your way.

Possible Edits:
:heavy duty boots: on :zamazenta:
Superpower on :melmetal:
05
Subscale Chomp.png

:gholdengo::garchomp::Zapdos::Ferrothorn::Urshifu-rapid-strike::Latios-Mega:
I used this vs Hellom in PL finals. After losing to Hellom earlier the same year in ndwc, I knew I had to get my runback. After looking at what he had been running as well as Sealoo's scout, I figured running a Bulky offense with a surprise tech and multiple ways to outplay would be perfect. Sub Garchomp looked good into the majority of his stuff so I chose that as the tech(also ty LogIce hidin and omar for help on decision making that week) . I misplayed alot with Chomp in-game but that is what it is.
Rest of the team is pretty standard stuff, Volturn ShifuZap to get in Latios or Ghold and Ferrothorn as the hazard setter.

Weaknesses
:kyurem: get rocks up early so scale shot can actually deal with it or just have lati/ghold in on the right turns

Possible Edits
This team is VERY customizable since all 6 of these pokemon are very strong in general
:garchomp: : Spdef :leftovers: or :dragonium Z: offensive are both pretty good
:gholdengo: : :choice scarf: is a good option for it should you choose to make shifu CB/SD
:urshifu-rapid-strike: : :mystic water: / :protective pads: / :choice band: are all good options
06
Specs Lele.png

:Slowbro::Garchomp::Ferrothorn::Lopunny::Tornadus::Tapu-lele:
This team was used for the final game in PL semis Tiebreaker vs Mollymiltoast. Looking at Molly's usage and scout I quickly came to the conclusion there was no point trying to fish, and similar to my mindset vs Hellom, I would load something standard with a tech and outplay instead of trying to find a good matchup. Massive shoutouts to sealoo at the time for gassing me up about using Specs Lele.
Team is focused around Future Sight Slowbro helping Lele and Lopunny break, while Chomp Torn and ferro check the rest of the meta and get up hazards for the offensive core to abuse. Ice beam on slowbro is to help in the otherwise very scary SD garchomp matchup. Iron head ferro helps deal with kyurem. Specs lele with tbolt + hpfire +Stabs is able to break through virtually anything bar blissey thanks to future sight and hazard support.

Weaknesses:
:samurott-hisui: and :kingambit: both outplayable, but are still scary nonetheless.

Possible Edits:
:Lopunny-Mega: : Triple Axel or Power up Punch are very good options, I actually regret using u-turn in hindsight since I think Slowbro+Torn is already enough pivoting.
:tapu lele: : Focus blast or Psyshock or even both are good if you really want them
:Garchomp: : can go offensive with :dragonium Z: to help with breaking power
:Slowbro: : :Psychium Z: is an option since in psy terrain it is boosted and becomes basically a huge nuke
07
Band Hamu.png

:landorus-therian::Samurott-hisui::Latios-mega::Slowking-Galar::Ferrothorn::Heatran:
Final team of this mini dump is a fun one I used vs Minissou among others like BeyisBack. Future sight + CB hamu is a deadly combo and we greed adamant because we click correctly. Lati Samu is an established offensive core while Z toxic tran helps wear down walls so Adamant Band Aqua jet can clean up. Also s/o slopcat for starting that conversation on choice banded/specs users, there are alot more pokemon that are just as if not more threatening in the meta with their respective choice item, as we've seen with teams such as Ezra's Specs :zapdos:.

Weaknesses:
:kingambit: need to keep lando/Tran healthy or chip it so Samu can kill it l8r.

Possible edits:
Another team with hella possible edits
:landorus-therian: : :flyinium Z: offensive or :leftovers: / :Rocky helmet: defensive
:Samurott-Hisui: : Sucker punch / Flip turn/ Sacred Sword or :choice scarf:
:Latios-Mega: : Aura sphere/ Ice beam
:Slowking galar: : Flamethrower or Tspikes/Twave or Slack off
:Heatran:: :leftovers: defensive or :choice specs: offensive

Not sure how I feel about the meta currently, definitely in the most stable spot it has been in awhile, though.
Thanks for taking time to read this
Stay safe and Take Care

Hello, National Dex OU! Here I am again with another team!

medicham.gif

This time centers around a very fascinating Pókemon I have been trying to make work. A tremendous wallbreaker to be exact. An UUBLer. Do you know who I am talking to? A Pókemon that has its Attack doubled by its ability. Mega Mawile? No. Mega Medicham, of course. For me, I always wanted to make a cool team with Mega Medicham, not only given its wallbreaking capabilities, but also because I think its underappreciated and I wanted to show how Medicham Mega still got it, even through all the powercreep of this generation. It is in fact one of my favourite UUBLers outside of Iron Hands, Cornerstone and Hoopa-U. After a long time, here I am with a cool team feat. Mega Mediciamm, the star of the show alongside its peers.

Tapu-Koko & Mega-Medicham Balanced Offence feat. Sinischa:
:Sinistcha: :Medicham-Mega: :Samurott-Hisui: :Tapu-Koko: :Iron Treads: :Moltres:

Given you seen the team, here's the explanation of every teammate and their receiving goals:

1779635927049.png

➥ Now first things first, here we have Sinistcha. Normally Sinistcha isn't seen much in NDOU given the Powercreep there is, but in this team its works perfectly, because it excels in so many usefuul roles for this team: physical wall with wallbreaking capabilities, W-Ogerpon check, Rapid Spin blocker by being a Ghost type. Not only is it a physically defensive backbone of this team, but it's also a wallbrealer by itself via Ghostium Z and Calm Mind. Plus its a Water and Ground resist outside of Hamurott and Moltres respectively. And as for recovery it has the busted Strengh Sap and STAB Matcha Gotcha. Plus it has Heatproof to halve the damage of Fire moves, effectively being "neutral" to it.

1779525102712.png

➥ Here we have the star of the show: Mega-Medicham. For this team, it serves as the devastatengly physical walllbreaker (or even stall-breaker) given its 100 Attack doubled due to Pure Power. It has STAB Close Combat and Zen Headbutt to hit almost every Pókemon for a good chunk of damage or even otright knock them out, outside of Gholdengo. It has Coverage in Ice Punch to get rid of Ground types for Tapu Koko. And at last it has priority in Fake Out, making the opponent always flinch. It can only be used the FIRST time it's in battle, so be careful.

1779525517250.png

➥ After our tremendous walbreaking star, we have our favourite starter, Hamurott. In this team, Hamurott serves as the speed control of the team. Sure, while its speed leaves a lot to be desired, Hamurottdoesnt lack neither power with Sharpness and STAB Razor Shell and Ceaseless Edge with and acceptable 108 Attack and pivoting via STAB Flip Turn. Speaking of, STAB Ceaseless Edge is very spammable due to leaving Spikes every time its used, which is very useful for Mega-Medicham to break walls that lack Heavy-Duty Boots. As for Coverage it has Sacred Sword, a Fighting move for Kingambit.

1779526334638.png

➥ With Mega Medicham, we have the second star of the show, namely Tapu koko. As Medicham-Mega is the physical Wallbreaker, Tapu Koko serves as the special wallbreaker with Choice Specs. For movesets, it has STAB Thunderbolt, boosted with electric terrain, making it even more powerful and STAB Dazzling Gleam. And as for coverage, it has Hidden Power Ice to catche Gliscor and Landorus-Therian off guard. And for last, it has U-Turn, pivoting into walls that gives it trouble.

1779526744760.png

➥ As we arrive at the end, here we have our Ground Pókemon, hazards removal and Stealth Rock setter, Iron Treads. Just like Sinistcha, Iron Treads fills in a lot of useful roles for this team, sauch as the mentioned ones. For Iron Treads, it has Air Baloon to avoid Earthquakes, making it a cool Dragonite answer with Ice Spinner, even though it gets rid of electric terrain, so be careful with that. Outside of STAB Earthquake, it has RApid Spin for Hazard Removal and Stealth Rock, which is very useful for Medi-Mega's wallbreaking capabilities.

1779528409542.png

➥ Our last Pokemon here is Moltres. Moltes serves as our Specially Defensive wall, being able to tank special hits and damage them back via STAB Flamethrower or spamming Toxic. Moltres serves as our Scizor, Charizard-Y and Volcarona check as well. Unlike Sinistcha, it has U-Turn to pivot Wallbreakers such as Mega-Medi or Tapu-Koko. And we can't forget Roost as well for recovery. And not to mention it has the ability to burn opponents via Flame Body, 30% to be exact. However outside of Toxic, you can go Brave Bird for Volcarone running Substitute and Venusaur Mega

As much as this team is great and works if it's played wisely, it has its own opponents to be careful about:

:sv/Diancie-Mega:
Given there's no such extreme defensive counter for Mega Diancie, outside of Clodsire, this team struggles defensively to deal with it. However Offensively you have Scraft Hamu, Sinistcha and Tapu-Koko that can threaten it one way or another and force it to switch out. Iron treads can eat a Mystical Fire (NOT an Earth Power, you NEED to have Air Baloon in) and K.O it with Earthquake.

:sv/Venusaur-Mega:
You need to have Medi-mega healthy because of Venusaur-mega, otherwise it can be a problem. However, Sinistcha COULD theoretically work against Venu-Mega given its not weak to Sludge Bomb, though be careful for the poison chances. Hell, you can even go Brave Bird Moltres for Venusaur Mega, this threat.

:sv/Volcarona:
Normally, you have Molres to take care of Volcarona, but if it has Substitue and Moltres has Toixc, you can be in grave danger. Therefore it could be aregued you can run either Brave Bird or Roar to deal with it. Also, if it has HP Rock, Moltres struggles immensly. Though the last scenario is very rare, it is something to watch out for.

:sv/Urshifu-Rapid-Strike:
Choice Scarf Urshifu can be tricky to play against since you have Sinistcha as a counter, but the rest of the team kinda struggles against it. Thankfully it would be locked into one move so you can play around Flame Body Moltres or just use Sinistcha to wall it. Also you can deal with it with the hazards you set on the opponents team, eventually putting this thing on a timer until either it dies due to hazards or cannot switch out anymore due to situation 1 (dying from said hazards) happening.

Excadrill TTar Bulky Offense (With a Val Koko Plan B): https://pokepast.es/6b877fb67e434b9c

This is a bulky offense team I made with the intent of using my favorite Pokemon (Excadrill) to do what it always does best; use Sand Rush to go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr while spinning away hazards for the team.

The Drill and the Tar 2.png

While Excadrill does struggle to compete with other ground types like Lando T, Gliscor, Great Tusk, or even Iron Treads due to its middling speed tier outside of sand on top of its passable bulk now being rendered less relevant than ever due to power creep just raising the level of damage even resisted hits would do to it (e.g. Raging Bolt's Draco Meteor threatens to deal 47.6 - 56.2% to Exca with just a Modest nature and no other boosts). However, its godly immunity laden typing and solid offensive profile paired with an Air Balloon (and of course some skillful play) enable it to reprise its old roles as speed control, a wall breaker, and a spinner. The Air Balloon is a must. You're practically relying on all those stacked immunities to Poison, Electric, and Ground as entry points to either deal damage or spin. Against certain sets on certain Ground types like Clodsire, Gliscor, or even Garchomp, you might even be able to turn them into setup fodder once you do some scouting and are absolutely sure the only ways they can deal damage to you are via Toxic and Earthquake. It's also good for revenge killing Iron Treads (assuming you preserve the Balloon) since it can't really kill it without a ground move. It's forced to either pop your Air Balloon with a weaker move and die to Earthquake, or switch out. The same logic applies to Mega Diancie provided it doesn't have Mystical Fire. Rock Slide is the secondary attack of choice however. As nice as it is to nuke fairies with powerful Iron Heads, you threaten a wider range of targets with Rock coverage than you would with Steel STAB. The Kanto birbs (Zapdos and Moltres in particular) go from walling it outright to potentially losing half if not all of their health to Rock Slide (however Zapdos still takes Exca's unboosted Rock Slides decently well from full so beware). Everything else that isn't using a priority move can simply be chipped into Earthquake range with help from the rest of the team and you should be fine.

Tyranitar had to change quite a bit to function in this team. It can't set rocks in this meta at all. As a hazard setter, it does not match up well against the common hazard removal options in the tier right now. Great Tusk forces it out and gets free spins all the time. It can't even do anything back to it. Treads may fail to OHKO at times and yeah it'll hate to take a low kick, but you're still losing a lot of health in that matchup. Lando-T puts TTar in a worse conundrum. Sure Lando hates eating Knock Off, but at the same time, it's also threatening to either rip out most of TTar's HP if not outright OHKO it with an Earthquake bolstered by an attack stat rivaling Groudon's. While Mega Diancie does hate eating Stone Edges from TTar, it can use the times it throws Knocks or Stealth Rock as an entry point anyway. At the same time, a lot of the things it can hit with Stone Edge like Tornadus, Y-ard, Zapdos, and Moltres can just pivot out. Torn's almost always faster than TTar meaning at worst, it can always U-Turn out of a bad situation assuming it doesn't have Focus Blast. Y-ard presents a similar problem despite not having a switch move since the potential Focus Blasts or the damage and burn chance of Scorching Sands can flip the matchup on its head. Moltres and Zapdos can also use their own switch moves to get out whenever they want, and they can punish TTar for using Knock Off and Pursuit as midgrounds using their abilities. Despite all these finicky downsides, TTar is still the GOAT. With good positioning enabled by Koko's and Moltres' pivoting moves, and the multitude of forced switches Exca Val and Koko force enabling for potent double switches, Tyranitar can reprise its role as a bulky wall breaker and trapper that sends the pivot happy Slow family to their graves, eliminate choice locked Pokemon like Lele or Gholdengo after they've made particularly greedy plays, and annihilate any and all Moltres and Zapdos that didn't bother investing in speed. With Low Kick and 220 speed, it can even answer Kingambit assuming it doesn't eat an Iron Head on the switch in. This speed tier also enables it to finish off uninvested Landos in a pinch using Knock Off, which you can probably figure out using Moltres who is teched to have the same speed as TTar.

Speaking of Moltres, it's another vital part of the team. Yeah it hates eating Stealth Rocks and yeah it needs Boots at all times, but we have removal. We can bear with it. It also helps that Moltres is both great at scouting sets on key Pokemon like Y-ard Heatran and Gholdengo, or answering dangerous sweepers like Scizor and Volcarona. This enables you to be more aggressive with Drill and TTar since its bulk and speed tier let it check for Choice Scarves or potential lure sets. If its health is full, it can even cheese Urshifu Rapid-Strike using Roost to stall until Flame Body procs since Surging Strikes can almost never threaten to kill Moltres without boosts especially if it gets burnt during one of the damage procs. It also actually hard checks Kingambit, unlike TTar who's mainly a soft check. With Flame Body and its bulk, you can turn it into opportunities to Roost, pivot, or deal damage with Flamethrower (which we are using over Mystical Fire cuz screw you Serperior). Speaking of Serp, Moltres also helps vs it anyway especially with this old EV spread that I modified for my needs. I don't remember all the calcs, but I do know it can eat 2-4 neutral physical hits before going down while still having juuuust enough special bulk to duel Y-ard and Serperior. It can also eat a lot of Moonblasts from the likes of Valiant and Lele while also ignoring any fighting moves that come its way. It's really useful for supplementing the next piece of the defensive core, Ferrothorn.

I won't bother elaborating too much on Ferrothorn. It's just doing the same old things we always call Ferrothorn to do. It sets hazards, it spreads a lot of passive damage, and it serves as a bulwark in the face of Water and Grass offense while still being able to answer Ice types and potentially cheese the likes of Urshifu-R or Tusk in the process. It does the same things as always. There were minimal changes to make at best. I run Iron Head to avoid getting PP stalled by Kyurem and to have some way to hit Clefable and Hatterene more consistently (especially since I'm not relying on Excadrill for Steel STAB), and I've made it the hazard setter instead of TTar cuz it matches up better against the common hazard removal options to begin with.

Now for the rest of the breaking core. Exca and TTar are alright on their own, and Moltres and Ferrothorn do help it against the Fighting and Ground types that have threatened Sandstorm teams for years, but they still also want to be able to get through bulky tanks like Gliscor and Lando who sit in their faces all day long. Koko brings the thunder with its standard offensive pivot set and an Electrium Z. It's naturally fast, hits like a truck, and with HP Ice giving it Bolt Beam coverage, you can answer a good chunk of the Pokemon that want to wall Excadrill and TTar like Corviknight, Skarmory, Alomomola, and whatever else. Not to mention, it can stick around for just as long as TTar or Ferro or even Moltres using Roost. This enables it to keep up the tempo even against bulkier teams that are looking to wear it down over time.

I also doubt I need to talk that much about the disgusting power levels Iron Valiant can reach. With Koko's terrain activating its Quark Drive ability AND the Choice Specs, it dishes out powerful Fairy and Fighting attacks that annihilate anything and everything that would give your sand core trouble if not put them in range for an Excadrill cleanup. It also helps that the Sand core and Koko annihilates the likes of Heatran, Gholdengo, and Glowking, Toxapex, and the metal birds which can easily face tank Val's Specs Moonblasts. It also has Vacuum Wave for sniping anything that may pose a problem later on with respectable 30-40% damage ranges on neutral targets at minimum. It's great for the likes of Kingambit or Kyurem or Rillaboom or even Urshifu or Hamurott cuz I know damn well those last two do in fact bring prio of their own anyway if only to deal with the likes of Volcarona. I also opted for Shadow Ball over Trick or Thunderbolt because I felt it was more important to be able to cheese Gholdengo or Glowking who fare better at tanking Val's moves than say Corviknight or Celesteela who eat a lot from boosted Aura Spheres and even Specs Moonblasts anyway despite resisting the latter.

If there are any problems I can think of that come to mind, it's probably answering Ice type sweepers defensively. I'm talking things like Weavile or Kyurem. The team is solely reliant on good natural bulk on neutral targets like TTar Ferrothorn and Moltres to answer such Pokemon defensively. Thankfully, we can make up for it offensively using Excadrill's Sand Rush or Val's Specs Vacuum Wave or Quark Drive speed boost to employ the good old fashioned strategy of "killing the enemy before they kill you." That said, I don't think I can say I can do the same against Volcarona. Without TTar and Moltres, my options for securing kills boils down to Sand Rush Excadrill at best, and if RNGesus decides Rock Slide should miss it in that fight, you're up a creek without a paddle. Despite all this however, I believe this team is versatile enough to fight its way out of any bad situation. At the very least, my higher elo friends say it is, and I'm steadily climbing the elo ladder and jumped up from the mid 1400s-1600s to 1700+ in less than a week.

Here's a buncha sample games to prove its efficacy. I went from being a halfway decent player to feeling as if I've become a smurf lmao. I even won a game where my Moltres and TTar got frozen and never thawed out simply cuz the rest of the enemy team just needed to be chipped into Exca's kill range. It's wild stuff and I am very proud of this team. IDK if it'll ever reach sample team tiers of recognition, but I hope it does regardless.

On May 15th 2026, the iceman album dropped with a track featuring "Ran to Atlanta" which not only references the famous diss track not like us by Kendrick lamar, but

The reason why I bring this up is because

when I had ladder tour troubles after a slight losing streak. Although after a slight tilt meltdown, I locked in and qualified with my own stuff.

Since theres no ladder tour thread I wanted to share my qualification process here with the teams I used nothing crazy. Plus I saw some of yall using some SLOP so here's a chance to get your artillery up.

Noob farming doesn't have to be hard and I think you mostly can win games off hazards alone which is why I climbed up with my usual spikestack. These are good until you play better players who will walk all over this kinda stuff if they have tools.

After losing some with fat decided to switch to HO mid run. This team is something I built during NDWC but didnt get used although I feel its SUPER consistent vs most stuff. Features double destiny bond to trade vs threats for an easier endgame with your other wincons. Ceru is the star of the show with a balloon to not only spinblock tusk but eliminate it via dbond+keeping up vs pagos. Used this team alot was fast and fun.

https://pokepast.es/70f49a3c8c16bd24

At this point wanted to focus on high quality gameplay+maximizing my ability to pull solid match ups as much as possible. Didnt play alot and I believe I only lost twice in my climb to 2k. Think both these cover most stuff like HO/bulky offense which was extremely common.

General tips:

1. Only rotate between 3-4 teams(IMO). I think using like 10 different teams just leaves you open to tilting more+match up variance the higher you get which is no fun. Take 4 teams you believe in+are good vs the meta and chill with those.

2. Theres no reason to double search. the ladder isnt going anywhere take your time and play each game well.

3. Snipe snipe SNIPE I'm sorry call it scummy but if you're like top 8 and you wanna play 1 game a day to keep your spot just Snipe someone bro LOL not your fault they're lacking many such cases.

Best of luck laddering to all, you can hit me on discord @ shalisza if you have any questions or would like help

Also shout out to the dude trying to qualify with beedrill thats heat hope you can do it, and shout outs to this guy https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9nationaldex-2631549630?p2 for giving me a really good game was the best 1 I had while qualifying

Sup, here I am another time! With another UUBLer team! This time featuring Hoopa Unbound!

hoopa.gif

I always wanted to build a team around this beast. With a base 160 Attack stat and a staggering base 170 Special Attack stat, Hoopa-Unbound is an offensive monster. The main issue is its mediocre base 80 Speed, which leaves it slower than many offensive threats in the metagame. On top of that, its defensive profile is far from ideal, with only 80 HP, 60 Defense, and a Psychic/Dark typing that leaves it vulnerable to several common attacks. Despite these shortcomings, Hoopa-Unbound remains an incredibly dangerous Pokémon. It is most commonly seen running Choice Band or Assault Vest sets, both of which take advantage of its immense offensive stats. However, for this team, I wanted to try something different and opted for a less conventional set. Therefor I present to you...

Nasty Plot Hoopa Unbound Balance Offence:
:Corviknight: :Urshifu: :Terapagos: :Garchomp: :Hoopa-Unbound: :Diancie-Mega:

Given you seen the team, here's the explanation of every teammate and their receiving goals:

1781559703921.png

➥ We begin with Corviknight, our physically defensive wall. Its Steel/Flying typing makes it an excellent defensive pivot, especially with access to U-turn. For recovery, it carries Roost. Instead of running STAB moves such as Brave Bird or Iron Head, I opted for the Iron Defense + Body Press combination. This allows Corviknight to become even bulkier on the physical side while also giving it the potential to function as a sweeper in certain situations. As for the EV spread, I invested enough Speed to outspeed Adamant Kingambit. Finally, it holds a Rocky Helmet to chip away at opponents that make contact with it.

1781560668746.png

➥ Secondly, we have our primary form of Speed control and a fast pivot in Urshifu-Rapid-Strike. When we say "strong," we're talking about a Pokémon with a base 130 Attack stat and access to STAB Surging Strikes, which always lands critical hits. It also carries STAB Close Combat and U-turn to maintain momentum. For its final move, it uses Ice Spinner for valuable coverage. Equipped with a Choice Scarf, Urshifu-Rapid-Strike can outspeed many opposing Choice Scarf users, such as Tapu Lele and Hisuian Samurott. Additionally, it serves as one of the team's answers to Kingambit, helping keep that threat in check.

1781560649445.png

➥ As for our hazard removal, we have Terapagos. Thanks to its ability, Tera Shell, the first hit it takes while at full HP becomes not very effective, greatly improving its survivability. As expected, it carries STAB Rapid Spin to remove entry hazards while also boosting its Speed. It also makes use of its powerful signature STAB move, Tera Starstorm. For coverage, Terapagos runs Ice Beam and Flamethrower, allowing it to hit a wide range of Pokémon for solid damage. Despite its offensive presence, Terapagos is also quite bulky, enabling it to perform its role as a Rapid Spinner reliably throughout a match. Finally, it holds Heavy-Duty Boots, preventing it from taking damage from entry hazards when switching in and helping it maintain its health throughout the battle.

1781561576734.png

➥ The team's specially defensive tank, Ground-type Pokémon, and Stealth Rock setter is Garchomp. Thanks to its Dragon/Ground typing and natural bulk, Garchomp can check threats such as Mega Charizard Y, Volcarona, and Mega Diancie, which could otherwise be troublesome for the team. Offensively, it relies on STAB Earthquake as its primary attacking move. As mentioned before, it also carries Stealth Rock, one of the most valuable entry hazards in competitive play. Its remaining moves are Protect, which can be used to scout opponents, stall turns, or lock a Choice-locked foe into a move, and Toxic, which is excellent for wearing down Pokémon that are not Steel- or Poison-types. Finally, Garchomp holds Leftovers, providing passive recovery throughout the battle. As for the EV spread, it is designed to outspeed Timid Raging Bolt while maximizing its special bulk as much as possible.

1781563232599.png

➥ And here we have the star of the show and the team's ultimate wallbreaker: Hoopa-Unbound. With access to Nasty Plot, it can boost its Special Attack to frightening levels, turning it into a devastating offensive threat. For its attacking moves, it carries STAB Psyshock, allowing it to target the opponent's Defense stat instead of their Special Defense, and STAB Dark Pulse, which provides excellent coverage against Psychic- and Ghost-types. To make Dark Pulse even more threatening, Hoopa-Unbound holds Darkinium Z, giving it access to a devastating Black Hole Eclipse capable of heavily damaging or outright KOing many Pokémon. For its final move, it runs Focus Blast, which provides valuable coverage against Dark- and Steel-types that would otherwise resist its STAB attacks. The EV Spread is to outspeed at least standard Specially Defensive Garchomp and standard Physically Defensive Zapdos.

1781563780776.png

➥ Lastly, we have our second wallbreaker in Mega Diancie. Upon Mega Evolving, it boasts an impressive base 160 in both Attack and Special Attack, alongside a strong base 110 Speed stat. Its Rock/Fairy typing provides solid offensive coverage, and it has access to an excellent movepool to take advantage of it. For its STAB moves, Mega Diancie runs Diamond Storm, allowing it to pressure specially defensive Pokémon, and Moonblast, a powerful Fairy-type attack capable of dealing significant damage to many threats. For coverage, it carries Mystical Fire, which helps it handle Steel-types such as Ferrothorn, Air Balloon Gholdengo, and Air Balloon Kingambit. Its final coverage move is Earth Power, giving it another way to deal with Steel-types while also hitting Poison- and Electric-types super effectively.

As much as this team is great and works if it's played correctly, it has matchups with opponents you HAVE to watch out for:

:sv/zamazenta:
While All-Out Attacker Zamazenta isn't an issue for the team, Choice Band Zamazneta and Iron Press Zamazenat are. For Choice Band you can't really wall a STAB Close Combat with that much power and Zamazenta boosting itself with Iron Defence could be trouble for this team, however you have Scarf Urshifu, Corviknight and Terapagos (It needs to be at FULL health), so if you play the cards correctyl you should be able to deal with it.

:sv/Tapu Lele: +
1781564584002.png

So yeah, while you have Urshifu and Mega Diancie to outspeed and perhaps get rid of Specs Lele, even with Terapagos (It needs to be at FULL health), tanking hits from it, that' a different thing. Garchomp DIES at STAB Moonblast despite being physically defensive, Corviknight can do only so much and Hoopa, while it can resist a STAB Moonblas from a SCARF Lele, it can't in this scenario.

:sv/Gardevoir-Mega:
Similar thing to Tapu Lele, but a lil‘ bit harder since it has more power while being free of clicking moves, slightly faster.

Sample Submission
Idk if its too late to submit a sample, but I feel like it's a worthwhile addition since there is only 1 stall team available to the public in samples.

SD scor version
This is the team I used for almost the entire time to qualify for ndlt week 1. It is similar in structure to ferrofodder's 'Galaxy Gas', but it plays very differently. It operates closer to semi-stall in certain matchups, with gliscor forcing in attackers like :urshifu-rapid-strike: and :ogerpon-wellspring: for rh pex to wear down in order to break through teams. On the defensive side, not having a dondozo allows the team to be very flexible: dealing with would-be stallbreakers like :ceruledge: and :ogerpon-wellspring: is possible through toxtect+switching around and sacrificing, leading to closer games but also much less bad matchups. In addition, sableye transforms would-be annoyances like ferrothorn and iron treads into complete non-issues, allowing you to play many games completely with hazards off, and chansey allows for much more flexibilty when it comes to dealing with :charizard-mega-y:
EV/moveset explanation:
:sableye-mega: standard physdef to block hazards from tusk, lando, treads and enough natural spdef to spinblock pagos
:chansey: even number stats to benefit the most from eviolite, full physdef to land a tox on mons like :ceruledge: and :ogerpon-wellspring: in a pinch, and 4 speed evs to punish fast hatterene and min speed kingambit
:corviknight: max physdef, keeps off hazards vs non :gholdengo: teams
:toxapex: full physdef to better deal with :charizard-mega-x:, :ogerpon-wellspring:, and :tyranitar-mega:
:clodsire: standard spdef, pjab tech to deal with :hatterene:, :tornadus-therian:, and other substitute/taunt would-be stallbreakers
:gliscor: max spdef with enough physical defense to take a hit from :urshifu-rapid-strike: and :ogerpon-wellspring: in a pinch

Things that can be tweaked: evs/item on :corviknight:, haze>tspike on :toxapex:, knock off>facade on :gliscor:, additional speed EVs on :gliscor:

spikes scor version
This version I've also played with a lot; I peaked #1 on ladder with it and later 87.5% GXE.
Spikes scor version plays a lot more like full stall: gliscor and clod get up max hazards which are extremely difficult to remove with sableye-mega. In this version, the team functions more as a hazard stack, which is why gliscor has knock off to get rid of boots.
Major differences:
-:gliscor: has 36 speed evs to creep defensive gholdengo while still being slower than zapdos to click EQ as they roost; being able to tank hits from woger and shifu is not useful as you don't threaten them back
-:corviknight: 200 speed to outspeed adamant :kingambit: which is more of a threat on this variation, leftovers is a lot more helpful to compensate for the loss in bulk and contact punishing isnt as needed with hstack

This version has very specific items and ev's; I would not recommend tweaking any of them

The first variant is the one I use more, but I think the second one is a lot easier for a new player to pick up, hence why I put both. Both teams have intricacies and specific sequences needed for dealing with threats, but I think that's something players should learn on their own through playing the team; 95% of matchups (barring manaphy and subtect dd kyurem, which beat pretty much every stall) are winnable through correct positioning and sequencing.
Have fun stalling!

Well, I am bored... So here when I am I thought it would be nice to send some of my self-made teams!

So the teams are already there, with some explanationabout every team member, explaining their job. (God, it's tiring to write this stuff...)

Specs Tapu-Lele + Steelium-Z Ghold Balanced Offence:
:Urshifu-Rapid-Strike: :Gholdengo: :Ting Lu: :Tapu-Lele: :Zapdos: :Venusaur-Mega:

https://pokepast.es/90df7ec4923e4e63
:Urshifu-Rapid-Strike:
I swear, this Pókemon is literally the best 'Món you could even haveas Speed Controlwith CHoice Scarf not gonna lie: as you know the set is basic: STAB Surging Strikes and Close Combat, dealing nasty damage with the 130 Attack! It also has U-Turn for pivoting and Ice Spinner for coverage.

:Gholdengo:
Well, we have our Z Crystal set-up Pókemon, Gholdengo. With 133 Special Attack and a Modest nature, it's nasty and with a Nasty Plot boost, it can become almost unwallable. With said Nastly Plot, it also has STAB SHadow Ball and Make it Rain. We have Steelium Z to have a NASTY Steel nuke move. As for the last move, it has Recovery as a healing a.k.a longevity.

:Ting Lu:
As for our special wall, we have Ting-Lu. It serves as the Stealth Rock user. For other moves it has STAB Eartquake and Rock Slide for Pókemon like Charizard-Y and Volcarona. And as for the last move, we have Whirlwind, to avoid Pókemon to set-up themselves.

:Tapu-Lele:
As for our immediate powe Pókemon, we have Tapu Lele: with Choice Specs, Lele deals nasty damage with terrain boosted STAB Psychic and Psyshock (Psyshock hits Pókemon via their DEFENCE, not SPECIAL DEFENCE!) and STAB Moonblast and as for coverage it has Focus Blast for Heatran. This leads to Tapu Lele being troublesome for Balance teams.

:Zapdos:
Zapdos serves as our physically Defensive ‘Món and our Hazards remover: for pivoting, it has STAB Volt Switch and for coverage it has Heat Wave for Gholdengo and Scizor Mega. As said, it has Defog for being able to get rid of hazards. And for last but not least, it has Roost for recovery.

:Venusaur-Mega:
And here we have our Mega-Pókemon of this team: Venusaur Mega. It serves as a special attacker and also a wall VS Ogerpon Wellspring. As for moves, it has STAB Giga Drain to recover a lil' bit of recovery and STAB Sludge Bomb with a chance of poisoning the opponent. As for coverage it gets Earzh Power for Steel and Poison types and for longevity you have Synthesis.

Venusaur-Mega + Darkinium-Z Kingambit Balance Offence:
:Alomomola: :Kingambit: :Zapdos: :Garchomp: :Venusaur-Mega: :Zamazenta:

https://pokepast.es/f8a785f392bff007
:Alomomola:
Almomola is our pivoting Special Wall, and it does do a great job at being it! With STAB Flip Turn it can pivot out for momentum, Knock Off for removing the opponent's item and STB Liquidation for stuff like Gliscor and Volcarona. As for last it has Mirror Coat: when it eats a special attack it returns the favour back by giving back the damage it took.

:Kingambit:
This Kingambit is particular. THis time it serevs as our Z-Crystal sweeper: instead of the natural set of using Knock Off, It has STAB Kowtow Cleave for making the Drakinium Z nuke move, outside of that, its a regular SD set, but with some neat changes. Shoutout to Toxic Ariados with making this neat set! I like it!

:Zapdos:
Also in this team, Zapdos serves as our physically Defensive ‘Món plus our Hazards remover: for pivoting, it has STAB Volt Switch and for coverage it has Heat Wave for Gholdengo and Scizor Mega. As said, it has Defog for being able to get rid of hazards. And for last but not least, it has Roost for recovery.

:Garchomp:
The team's specially defensive tank, Ground-type Pokémon, and Stealth Rock setter is Garchomp. Offensively, it relies on STAB Earthquake as its primary attacking move. As mentioned before, it also carries Stealth Rock. Its remaining moves are Protect, which can be used to scout opponents or stall turns. It has Toxic, which is excellent for wearing down Pokémon that are not Steel / Poison types. The EV spread is designed to outspeed Timid Raging Bolt while maximizing its special bulk as much as possible.

:Zamazenta:
As for our immediate power, we have Zamazenta with Choice band. Being Fast and powerful, making it hard to wall. Pkus it has a plethra of useful coverage. It has the nasty STAB Close Combat for Steel types or just power in general, Crunch for Ghost and Psychic types, Ice Fang for Landorus-Therian and Gliscor and for last itz has Stone Edge in case of Flying types, especially Zapdos and Moltres.

Specs Tapu-Lele + Pursuit Mega-Tyranitar:
:Alomomola: :Tapu-Lele: :Pecharunt: :Landorus-Therian: :Zamazenta: :Tyranitar Mega:

https://pokepast.es/5f27f3f4e06a9cd3

:Tapu-Lele:
As for our immediate powe Pókemon, we have Tapu Lele: with Choice Specs, Lele deals nasty damage with terrain boosted STAB Psychic and Psyshock (Psyshock hits Pókemon via their DEFENCE, not SPECIAL DEFENCE!) and STAB Moonblast and as for coverage it has Hidden Power Fire for Gholdengo and Scizor-Mega. This leads to Tapu Lele being troublesome for Balance teams.

:Pecharunt:
Pecharunt serves as our physical wall, being able to wall stuff like Ogerpon and Zamazenta. It has STAB Malignant Chain to have a chance of poisoning opponents and then confusing them via Poison Puppeteer. As for second movbe it has STAB Hex, having its power doubled when used against a Pókemon having a status. As for the status moves it has Recover for longevity and Parting Shot for pivoting.

:Landorus-Therian:
As for our speed control, we have Landorus-Therian with Choice Scarf. It has STAB Earthquake and coverage in Stone Edge for Pókemon like Charitzard-Y, Zapdos, Tornadus-Therian and Moltres. The third move is U-turn for pivoting, giving you momentum. For the fourth move, we have Defog to get rid of Hazards in our side.

:Zamazenta:
Now we have our physical all-attacker, Zamazenta with Heavy Duty-Boots. Being Fast and having a plethra of useful coverage, it makes it always useful in someway or another. It has the nasty STAB Close Combat for Steel types, Crunch for Ghost and Psychic types, Ice Fang for Landorus-Therian and Gliscor and for last it has Stone Edge in case of Flying types, especially Zapdos and Moltres.

:Tyranitar Mega:
For our mega slot, we have Tyranitar Mega. It has its use because it has STAB Pursuit for dealing with Pókemon, who could be troubles for Tapu Lele. It has STAB Stone Edge for stuff like Zapdos, Moltres and Volcarona. Not to mention hitting with a MASSIVE 160 Attack and can set-up Stealth Rock and STAB Knock Off to remove the opponent's item.

I'd love for you guys to try these. Well, I am done for the day, so take care!

1700-1900s

After losing some with fat decided to switch to HO mid run. This team is something I built during NDWC but didnt get used although I feel its SUPER consistent vs most stuff. Features double destiny bond to trade vs threats for an easier endgame with your other wincons. Ceru is the star of the show with a balloon to not only spinblock tusk but eliminate it via dbond+keeping up vs pagos. Used this team alot was fast and fun.

A bit late but sadly I did not qualify, using beedrill was quite fun tho I enjoyed every second of it and I still use the goat to this day

Hello, I'd like to share something very sinister with you all. What I have here is a stall team that peaked at Rank #1, 1940 Elo, 85.9% GXE. Typically, you'd see those stats and think that's kinda mid, especially for someone running stall; however, the stall features the mighty...Regice? That's right, a ZU Pokemon that quite literally has no viable set and is outclassed in ZU (https://www.smogon.com/dex/sv/pokemon/regice/). This run was not initially conducted using the finalized team, meaning I started on a new account at the drawing board! That means I laddered with an untested, most likely garbage 6, then made changes as I laddered (explains the garbage 85.9% GXE lol).

Nevertheless, I'm going to get into the team, and I hope you enjoy! (This is my first time posting, so lmk where to improve)

Why Regice?
  • Aura
  • Obliterates Kyurem
  • Blocks Parting Shot (Clear Body)
  • Near-guaranteed chip in offensive matchups
  • Destroys common defensive cores
    • Ferro, Pex, Gliscor, Zap, Latis, etc
  • Bolt Beam Coverage + Sleep Talk
  • Destroys Rain

The Team: https://pokepast.es/7ffeff99de4b867a

PokemonMovesetWhy?
Regice (Pokémon) - Bulbapedia, the ...
Regice @ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
Since I already explained why Regice, I’ll elaborate on the set. Bolt Beam is excellent coverage against a decent number of teams. This is excellent with Toxapex’s toxic spikes and Clodsire’s stealth rock, forcing specific targets to switch in and take hazards or receive the poison status. Regice has a base stat of 200 on the special side; hence, there is not much of a need to invest in it there. Hence, defense? Through testing, max defence actually did not put in as much work as anticipated. Many times, Regice doesn’t even want to stay in on certain physical attackers even with max defence because of Regice’s need to remain healthy to fulfil its aforementioned duty. Thus, the rest is dumped into Special Attack to turn Regice into an offensive threat that forces progress, while performing its defensive duties.
Gliscor Pokédex: stats, moves ...
Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 244 HP / 36 Def / 228 SpD
Careful Nature
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- Defog
- Protect
Gliscor has amazing utility and damage potential that perfectly supports Regice. Due to Regice’s reliance on leftovers to become a diabolical special wall, Gliscor serves as a Defogger that can threaten Gholdengo. Knock is essential on any stall team, while Earthquake offers good damage into Pokémon such as Gking that this team otherwise struggles with. Also, Gliscor is used alongside Toxapex in Regenerator Wars.
Clodsire Pokédex: stats, moves ...
Clodsire @ Black Sludge
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Spe
Careful Nature
- Earthquake
- Poison Jab
- Stealth Rock
- Recover
Clodsire is incredibly good on stall in NDOU. It is the only reliable Gholdengo counter in the entire tier for stall teams, with most popular Gholds thudding into Clod. Clod always runs EQ to not lose to Gholdengo, while PJab is run because of the perks of having more PP, bypassing magic bounce users (Hatterene, Mega Diance, and Mega Sableye), and not being tauntable. Only Rocks is run on this team because of how much you will use Defog. This complements Regice perfectly, as Regice’s coverage and Rocks are tough for the majority of teams to switch in comfortably.
Toxapex Pokédex: stats, moves ...
Toxapex @ Payapa Berry
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 136 Def / 124 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Toxic
- Toxic Spikes
- Recover
Toxapex is one of the best assets to any stall. Its ability to switch in and out while regaining HP through Regenerator is key for this stall, as it allows for scouting, PP stalling, being a safe lead against many teams, and the ability to be in a Regenerator core with Gliscor. Payapa berry is incredibly useful with Pex, as it allows for toxic against the Latis, Tapu Lele, Medicham-M, Hoopa-U, and a scald burn fish against Crown. For most matchups, Haze isn’t needed, with Scald, Toxic, and toxic spikes being preferred. These three moves combined make Pex one of the most annoying Pokémon to switch into. Haze can be forgone due to having the unaware duo, Clod and Dozo for both common special and physical attackers. Additionally, Pex acts as the main way to beat Oger-W, who is a big threat due to running Regice over a different Pokémon, as Toxic puts the biggest threat to the team on a strict timer.
Corviknight (Pokémon) - Bulbapedia, the ...
Corviknight @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Iron Head
- Roost
- Protect
- Defog
Corviknight functions as the best defogger and wall against common stall threats. Corviknight completely walls non-Flamethrower Slowking-G and non-Thunderbolt specs Tapu Lele, while completely stopping their future sight attempts. Corviknight also beats the notable Mega Diance, which is known for its capabilities of effortlessly destroying stalls with hazard stacking reliably in the face of Mega Sableye and regular ID Corv. Leftovers is used for passive recovery, but Covert Cloak can be used instead if you don’t want to be burned or frozen by secondary effects. Protect is incredibly strong on this set to not only prevent future sight combos (excluding Urshifu combos), but also scouting opposing Pokemon’s moves, and take two PP for the price of one.
Dondozo (Pokémon) - Bulbapedia, the ...
Dondozo @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Impish Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Curse
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Body Press
Dondozo is incredibly strong, especially with Rocky Helmet. It forces many physical Pokemon with no form of recovery to take damage each time they want to attack, which Dozo can easily rest off. Dondozo is an excellent counter to many notable threats to stall, such as Gambit, Pinsir-M, and Dagonium Z Dragonite. However, Dondozo must be wary when it is forced in on a strong knock-off and loses its helmet. Dondozo is also the last defence against SD Ogerpon-W, so ensure you have chipped it enough so Dozo can get in safely and curse to force WOger to take chip with Rhelm. Dondozo also has the excellent trait of destroying Trick Room teams once Hatterene is forced to healing wish. Body Press is run to improve the matchup against Kartana, Ogerpon variants, and Kingambit; however, you become unable to directly damage Ceruledge (which was rarely seen during the push).

Threats

  • Combos
    • Samurott+Gholdengo
    • Trick Room Healing Wish+Breakers
    • Band TTar+Special Breaker
    • Electric Terrain (Koko) + Physical Breakers

    • Future Sight+Urshifu
    • Futute Sight+Thunder Wave

Replays and Development of The Team

I believe there is not enough space for all of that in this post; thus, the whole experimental and tryhard laddering process is documented here (https://docs.google.com/document/d/11VCq1pXYZJZ80Mz1KtameFJ-EAdbfqTs54nykUTMGfM/edit?tab=t.qwcpgydz4d9y), where you can see my thoughts after each game, changes I do to the team and why, and metagame trends I see (navigate to "Team Development" and "Replays").

Closing Remarks

In my opinion, this was probably the worst metagame for stall I've ever seen in a long time for NDOU, which made this push considerably difficult. Overall, I hope I made a good first impression on the forums. Additionally, if you're interested in a more in-depth analysis, I will be posting a video about how to play the team on my YouTube soon.

Thank you for stopping by!

Why Regice?
  • Aura
  • Obliterates Kyurem
  • Blocks Parting Shot (Clear Body)
  • Near-guaranteed chip in offensive matchups
  • Destroys common defensive cores
    • Ferro, Pex, Gliscor, Zap, Latis, etc
  • Bolt Beam Coverage + Sleep Talk
  • Destroys Rain

View attachment 850213Regice @ Leftovers
View attachment 850214Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
View attachment 850215Clodsire @ Black Sludge
View attachment 850216Toxapex @ Payapa Berry
View attachment 850217Corviknight @ Leftovers
View attachment 850218Dondozo @ Rocky Helmet

Threats

PSA: SEEKING TESTERS FOR THIS TEAM
:pip:Hello! This is my first ever post in Smogon Forums, so I figured that I better make it count. Sorry in advance for not having sprites.

In my endless quest to make a sample-worthy team, I realized that a sample-worthy team must be simple, viable in all ladder ranks, and, most importantly, powerful.

For instance, while sealoo's Lopunny-Mega Balance (https://pokepast.es/a1180c7057c8f282) is a great team, it requires you to study it thoroughly, not really a plug-and-play type of team that beginners need.

Ladies and gentlemen (and everyone in between!), I present to you my magnum opus.

https://pokepast.es/6cf5de9b901d33fa (forgot the Zamazenta EVs and nature, as well as Tapu Lele's)

Zamazenta @ Heavy-Duty Boots
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
Ability: Dauntless Shield
- Close Combat
- Crunch
- Stone Edge
- Ice Fang

Zamazenta is the team's speed control. Close Combat 2HKOes Ferrothorn and specially defensive Heatran. Crunch 2HKOes offensive Gholdengo, specially defensive Slowking-G, and 3HKOes Tapu Lele. Ice Fang secures the 2HKO at -1 against Landorus-T, and specially defensive Gliscor. Stone Edge OHKOes Moltres and 2HKOes Zapdos without triggering Flame Body and Static, respectively.

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 244 HP / 12 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Protect
- Defog

Gliscor is the team's Stealth Rock setter and Defogger, as well as the Flying type. Poison Heal might just be the stupidest ability ever, getting an immunity to other statuses and healing a whopping 12.5% (⅛) HP every turn.
Arceus, put this bat to hell.

Toxapex @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Toxic
- Haze
- Recover

Toxapex is the team's Regenerator abuser, utilising Haze to stop setup sweepers, Toxic to poison them, Recover to heal up, and Scald to roll for a burn. Maximum Defense investment enables it to take Earthquakes and Headlong Rushes better. The standard "The Pex" EV spread is also a good option. Again, this is a very annoying stall freak who needs to go to hell.

Gholdengo @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Good as Gold
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- Make It Rain
- Trick
- Recover/Focus Blast

Gholdengo is very fast when equipped with a fashionable Choice Scarf, making it exceptionally fast at a blisteringly fast 493 Speed. Shadow Ball should be SPAMMED due to its lack of drawbacks and 20% chance of lowering SpD. Make It Rain's 120 BP can nuke opposing Pokémon who resist Shadow Ball. Trick cripples defensive walls like Alomomola, Toxapex, and Slowking-G while taking their defensive utility. Setup sweepers are also crippled due to Choice locking. Finally, Focus Blast covers Normal-types, Steel-types, and most other things, while Recover may be used to heal up after Tricking.

Tapu Lele @ Psychium Z
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Future Sight
- Moonblast
- Calm Mind
- Focus Blast

Tapu Lele is the team's Raging Bolt and Scizor check. At +1, it can 2HKO all Scizor-Mega variants with Focus Blast and stop itself from getting OHKOed by Bullet Punch due to Psychic Terrain. Said Terrain also boosts Shattered Psyche (based on Future Sight) to an overpowered 247 BP nuke. Oh, and FS synergizes with Zamazenta's Close Combat very well.

Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Light Metal
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Close Combat
- Knock Off

Scizor-Mega is pretty self-explanatory, stupid red bug snipes everything with a +2 Bullet Punch.

Counters
This team really hates Rain, as Swampert-Mega's Swift Swim lets it obliterate most things (unless it's THE WALL).
If you put Scizor-Mega under Psychic Terrain, good luck stalling out the rest of the duration.
Haven't really been able to test, I'll update this section later.

Good luck and have fun,
OverpoweredPenguin

Tuff teams for summer seasonal and NDPL

Absol
I felt really bad for absol because it never gets used :( threw 2 hazard weaks for vibes and added slowking. I originally was gonna do av mola over prim, but I was sick of mola so I used a worse mon. Corv added so we don’t lose to hazards. Absol set is ABSOLutely FANTASTIC!!!! Wisp punishes physical walls trying to switch in. Perish song is because this is my gambit check. Blizzard and pursuit are for vibes.

I also included bs volc set and even more bs lati set to punish greedy teams. Acuity slimed out ak blue with it so yk the team works.

Roseli tusk baits fairies to open up regidrago and dnite. Heavy slam Kos all relevant fairies so no need to calc. Other mons are for aesthetics.

Oricorio
In theory oricorio baits gambit, in practice it 6-0s every team style. +1 252 SpA Oricorio-Sensu Hurricane vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Vessel of Ruin Ting-Lu: 552-651 (107.3 - 126.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO. +1 252 SpA Oricorio-Sensu Hurricane vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Alomomola: 672-792 (125.8 - 148.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO. Included some no skill mons in the back for easy bailouts

NDLT QUALIFICATION TEAMS

Posting a few teams here with some fun mons that I used to qualify NDLT cycle 1 a few weeks ago.

1. Regidrago
https://pokepast.es/ce7630663a99e722
this team can only be used once and is only good into slower builds. if you see a mon faster than meow or really just any landorus-therian that can eq, it's time to click x
2. Mega sceptile
https://pokepast.es/bf71752e189681d0

this team is surprisingly not terrible but if you see stall, click that x button with haste. it can beat almost everything else though
3. mdia semistall
https://pokepast.es/9b7f17f5c97961c5

probably the least aesthetically pleasing team of all time, a stall where you have to make an aggressive play every turn to win. will always lose stall mirror
4. Mega houndoom sun
https://pokepast.es/f1a8d2897046560e

simple premise, spam setup and you have 3x healing wishes to bring guys back if you misplay into fatter builds
5. Lead gambit
https://pokepast.es/86237637e82296de

bluff av with gambit lead and hit the rocks turn 1. rest of the guys just there to force chip on stuff so landorus can clean up. lele tbolt to lure potential corv/celesteela
6. Blastoise rain
https://pokepast.es/7a26fd1396474641

realistically when playing rain, you always have the same core 3/4 mons and other 2 are just whatever. blastoise just here as a breaker that breaks opposing ferrothorn (sort of) and catch grass types by surprise

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9nationaldex-2559861617
the only replay i have from tour with this team
7. Conkeldurr
https://pokepast.es/c85508e7de958d82

if we see ANY ground type or even any mon with a strong ground type move, it's time to click x. best you can do is lure them with nature's madness and try to eat a hit or two with conkeldurr. otherwise the team isn't horrible
8. Offensive gliscor
https://pokepast.es/792345e89e8c9b1e

team is really just built around setting up a zamazenta endgame. stall is an instant x button
9. Copycat blissey
https://pokepast.es/cd09d61a1c07d594

team is simple: sack hamu for hazards, click final gambit with victini, copycat it with blissey and kill every mon in the game given its incredibly high hp stat, and win with kgb in lategame. shuca ghold just here to spinblock and pagos is here for removal so you dont lose all ur damage on victini. another team which can only be used once
10. Ultimate antistall
https://pokepast.es/2b74b196244aa287

given that every other (or nearly every other) team on this dump loses to stall, i should post at least one that can beat stall. this one is the only team that i myself did not make, was instead made by a certain man living in a type of fortress in the ground. premise is to ppstall everything, and you have pretty much infinite pp as long as you can preserve the right mons and keep your leppa berries. will win in long term against almost all stall

heres the ndlt teamdump + lazy analysis

Round 1: Vs Genesis9507

game 1: built by sealoo
:cinderace:-:corviknight:-:toxapex:-:ting-lu:-:kyurem:-:zamazenta: VS :hippowdon:-:tyranitar:-:dracozolt:-:moltres:-:tornadus-therian:-:ogerpon-wellspring:
This game was kinda cooked from turn 1. Looking at Mu on lead, I thought I’d just click Toxic with Pex 3x since there was no Steel/Poison on the opp’s side. I completely forgot about Torn running Sub on NP sets in NatDex though, and it cooked me.

game 2: idk who built ts
:shedinja:-:blissey:-:toxapex:-:gliscor:-:skarmory:-:gholdengo: VS :zapdos-galar:-:tapu-koko:-:urshifu-rapid-strike:-:ting-lu:-:corviknight:-:venusaur-mega:
This was a very risky stall fish given all the Banded Tar in his scout, but at the time I was locked in watching WCoP games for Canada and didn’t care about the set that much. At least the stall fish hit.

game 3: built by Suuicunee
:kyurem:-:hoopa-unbound:-:slowking-galar:-:zapdos:-:alomomola:-:great-tusk: VS :tornadus-therian:-:venusaur-mega:-:tyranitar:-:corviknight:-:clodsire:-:slowbro:
Looking at G1 and G2, I noticed the prep pattern of strong Flying-types, so I kinda just loaded the thing in my builder that doesn’t lose to the strong Fly mons in the meta. This was the one that accomplished that best, and on top of that, Hoopa also looked really good into the scout.

Round 2: Vs The Hitman
magic-johnson.gif

Round 3: Vs Gom

Game 1: built by sealoo
:cinderace:-:great-tusk:-:tornadus-therian:-:raging-bolt:-:slowking-galar:-:samurott-hisui: VS :zamazenta:-:clefable:-:gholdengo:-:latios-mega:-:samurott-hisui:-:gliscor:

Looking at gom's scout in the days leading up to the game, I realized they weren't really building and were mostly using teams from different dumps on the ND forums. So I decided to load some comfort G1 that I haven't really used much in tour. I think I was playing pretty well this set until the great Clefable slimeout of 2026.

Game 2: built by kyoto edited by me
:ting-lu:-:glimmora:-:gholdengo:-:dragonite:-:iron-valiant:-:suicune: VS :tapu-lele:-:zapdos:-:garchomp:-:gholdengo:-:alomomola:-:ferrothorn:

This game I brought some Suicune TSpikes, and it's actually the first team I used this tour that I built myself (kinda). It's a team from SVOU that my friend Kyoto made, but I dropped Raging Bolt and put Suicune on it instead because Suicune HStack looks broken vs the entire tier + I switched some of the sets to better fit NatDex.
https://pokepast.es/67aa3c7551e9c1c5

Game 3: built by sealoo
:ting-lu:-:iron-crown:-:landorus-therian:-:ogerpon-wellspring:-:iron-valiant:-:pecharunt: VS :heatran:-:kyurem:-:ogerpon-wellspring:-:great-tusk:-:hatterene:-:tornadus-therian:

This team from sealoo is very good. I was a doubter in the beginning, but after this game I became a believer. I thought I had sold the game when I didn't CM twice with Iron Crown, idk why I thought Heatran was already in range for a +1 focus blast, but thankfully everything was in range of hazards by that point.

Semi-Finals: Vs Yogo896

Game 1: built by me
:meowscarada:-:clefable:-:dragonite:-:gholdengo:-:ting-lu:-:iron-moth: VS :medicham:-:tapu-koko:-:zapdos:-:alomomola:-:tinkaton:-:krookodile:
This was the first set in this tour where I actually tryharded with the prep cuz my opp was pretty known for using different cheese and no-skill shit, and I wanted the best HO MU possible through diff whirlwind/dtail mons and whatnot. I didn't really care about the other archetype MUs cuz I was confident I could just outskill, or he'd build some bad team that doesn't account for something like Mola or TSpikes.
https://pokepast.es/58bad131f75fc5b1

Game 2: built by me
:lopunny-mega:-:weezing-galar:-:alomomola:-:gholdengo:-:moltres:-:ting-lu: VS :kyurem:-:weavile:-:cinderace:-:alomomola:-:landorus-therian:-:scizor-mega:
I think I played alright this game. The MU was pretty much a layup as long as I played right, the main setbacks this game were Kyurem freezing the Moltres and Lando being EP, which was cooked Gweez. Overall though, I'm happy the prep paid off for this set, even though it gassed me out right before finals.
https://pokepast.es/abdac725e21f087d

Finals: Vs Mollymiltoast

Game 1: built by some ou guy edited by me
:cinderace:-:slowking-galar:-:landorus-therian:-:kyurem:-:kingambit:-:ogerpon-wellspring: VS :meowscarada:-:alomomola:-:charizard-mega-y:-:great-tusk:-:gholdengo:-:tapu-lele:

Looking at scout, I noticed he was very weak to Kyurem, TB Ogerpon, and Kingambit with Helmet support (Mostly helmet gking/pech because there was a lot of zama stuff). So I ripped this team from SV and made some edits to accommodate his scout. I kinda tilted this game after Mola paralyzed Ogerpon, but Kyurem clutching gave me good momentum and confidence for game 2.
https://pokepast.es/38b85fec3f6cd1a2

Game 2: built by sealoo
:lopunny-mega:-:toxapex:-:ting-lu:-:skarmory:-:gholdengo:-:kyurem: VS :zamazenta:-:slowking-galar:-:raging-bolt:-:landorus-therian:-:gholdengo:-:urshifu-rapid-strike:

I was gonna stall this game, but when I was looking for a team, Molly said he was going out for dinner soon, so I felt bad and just loaded some Sealoo Kyurem stuff instead. This MU was heavily in my favor. Scarf Ghold HStack into no removal + no Ghost resist is a heavenly MU, and the game pretty much portrayed that.

Nuclear Bomb Hydrapple Stall
(2031 Elo, 90.5% GXE)

Introduction

Hello, today I have a very fun stall team that I would like to share with all of you. One of my favorite new Pokemon is Hydrapple, which I believe is heavily unexplored. I frequently use it on Balance, Bulky Balance, Bulky Offense, and Stall, but the cool thing is that the sets will always vary. You can run so many items (Rocky Helmet, Boots, Roseli Berry, Life Orb, etc), moves (Giga Drain, Fickle Beam, Earth Power, Hydro Pump, Dragon Tail, Body Press, etc), and sets (Nasty Plot, Assault Vest, Sticky Hold, etc), making Hydrapple incredibly versatile. However, I rarely saw a fully offensive Hydrapple. Sure, Max Special Modest Hydrapples have existed for a long time, but I've never seen anyone invest large amounts of speed. That though encouraged my first Hydrapple Z team that peaked 2k+ Elo a few months ago. My first variant only ran enough speed to speed-creep uninvested Clefable (157 Speed), but this time we're going all in. The Hydrapple featured in this team has enough to speed-creep Pokémon trying to speed-creep Corviknight (172 Speed), such as 171 speed Gambit and Mawile-Mega. With that said, let's get on with the team analysis.

The Team: https://pokepast.es/d5f5b1e6c6695e6a

PokemonSetWhy?
Sableye Pokédex: stats, moves ...
Sableye-Mega @ Sablenite
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Impish Nature
- Knock Off
- Will-O-Wisp
- Recover
- Protect
Sableye-Mega (MSable) is widely known as the CEO of NDOU stall due to its oppressive ability, Magic Bounce. MSable itself functions as a fantastic hazard blocker against many common Pokémon such as Ferrothorn and Ting-Lu, while also being a spin blocker against Great Tusk, Iron Treads, and Terrapagos. Will-O-Wisp and Knock Off are mandatory moves for obvious reasons. In short, Wisp is incredible for forcing switches, putting a foe on a timer, and gutting physical attackers, while Knock Off has the utility of removing items, giving MSable decent damage output, and forcing switches. Both of these moves together guarantee progress against the majority of Pokémon and teams. Recover is for recovery, obviously. Protect, despite the majority of Mega Sableyes running Hex or Pain Split, is far superior due to being able to give MSable the guaranteed Mega, but arguably more important, it beats every combination of Future Sight in the game, except Urshifu-R (who, by the way, fears a burn and will almost always use U-Turn).
Hydrapple (Pokémon) - Bulbapedia, the ...
Hydrapple @ Dragonium Z
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 64 Def / 252 SpA / 192 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Draco Meteor
- Leaf Storm
- Earth Power
Leaf Storm and Draco Meteor are used for more immediate damage, while Earth Power is used for coverage. In offensive matchups, Plot is many times not even necessary, where the STABs and EP either OHKOs or 2HKOs every Pokemon, while in balanced and bulkier matchups, Hydrapple has no switch-ins after a Plot. Since the team already has 3 dedicated special walls, the rest of Hydra's EVs were dumped into defense.

Here are some damage calculations for context:
  • 252+ SpA Hydrapple Devastating Drake (195 BP) vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Zapdos: 361-426 (94.2 - 111.2%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO
  • 252+ SpA Hydrapple Leaf Storm vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Hatterene: 214-253 (67.2 - 79.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
  • +2 252+ SpA Hydrapple Leaf Storm vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Clefable: 478-564 (121.3 - 143.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO
  • +2 252+ SpA Hydrapple Devastating Drake (195 BP) vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Slowking-Galar: 445-525 (113.2 - 133.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
  • +2 252+ SpA Hydrapple Leaf Storm vs. 244 HP / 228+ SpD Gliscor: 390-459 (110.7 - 130.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
  • +2 252+ SpA Hydrapple Devastating Drake (195 BP) vs. 248 HP / 56 SpD Corviknight: 353-416 (88.4 - 104.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
Corviknight (Pokémon) - Bulbapedia, the ...
Corviknight @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Iron Head
- Protect
- Roost
- Defog
Ah yes, my beloved set. I would like to believe I invented this set, but realistically some real G ran this before me that I’m unaware of, so shout out to them. Specially Defensive Corviknight (Corv) is the best hazard remover paired with MSable. This is because the Pokemon that can get rocks against Msable, namely Diance-Mega, Clefable, SD Lando, and SD Chomp, are either outright beaten, PP stalled, or moveset scouted by Corv. This allows getting hazards against the MSable and Corv combo incredibly hard for the majority of teams. Additionally, Iron Head beats many stall threats, including the aforementioned MDiance, Gardevior-Mega, Hatterene, and Tapu-Lele. Protect is used since it allows Corv to outright PP stall many common moves, to get another round of leftovers, and to block every future sight combination with few exceptions. Obviously, Roost is for recovery, and Defog is for removing hazards. Leftovers is used since Blissey and Clodsire can absorb special attacks that can possibly burn or freeze Corv.
Dondozo (Pokémon) - Bulbapedia, the ...
Dondozo @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Impish Nature
- Waterfall
- Curse
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
Dondozo (Dozo) is incredibly strong, especially with Rocky Helmet. It forces many physical Pokemon with no form of recovery to take damage each time they want to attack, which Dozo can easily rest off. Dondozo is an excellent counter to many notable threats to stall, such as Kingambit, MPinsir, and Dagonium Z Dragonite. However, Dondozo must be wary when it is forced in on a strong knock-off and loses its helmet. Sleep Talk is near mandatory due to the sheer strength of many attackers such as the aforementioned threats, Outrage Mega Charizard, Waterfall, as opposed to Body Press, is used due to Hydrapple handling most Kartana and Woger variants, allowing Dozo to beat Ceruledge. Waterfall also comes with the benefits of having more PP and is a STAB move.
Clodsire Pokédex: stats, moves ...
Clodsire @ Covert Cloak
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Spe
Careful Nature
- Earthquake
- Poison Jab
- Spikes
- Recover
Clodsire (Clod) is the only reliable Gholdengo counter in the entire tier for stall teams, with most popular Gholds thudding into Clod. However, one of the only ways a Ghold can beat Clod is if it gets a special defense drop against it, allowing Make It Rain and its Z-move to output more damage than Clod can handle, often forcing Clod to switch out immediately and sacking a different Pokemon. The solution to this is to run Covert Cloak to become immune to those special defense drop moves. Cloak also allows Clod to not be burned by Volcarona’s Flamethrower, be immune to Psychic Noise’s heal-blocking properties, and has many more applications. PJab is run because of the perks of having more PP, bypassing Magic Bounce users (Hatterene, Mega Diance, and Mega Sableye), and not being tauntable. Spikes is used since it is excellent in pressuring opposing teams and since Blissey is the rocker. Recover is for recovery.
Blissey Pokédex: stats, moves ...
Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 3 Spe
- Seismic Toss
- Soft-Boiled
- Stealth Rock
- Counter
Blissey (Bliss) is a stall staple, but mostly on Boots spam stall. Typically, you’d run a Chansey with Eviolite. Why Blissey, then? First of all, the passive recovery of Leftovers allows for much more forgiving gameplay, especially if rocks are up on your side of the field. Most importantly, this Blissey is running Counter. If you think about the metagame, every major Dark-type (Kingambit, Weavile, Tyranitar, Tyranitar-Mega, Hisuian-Samurott) is physical and relies on their attacks to beat stall. These attacks are mainly Pursuit, Knock Off, and Ceaseless Edge. All of these moves are physical, allowing Blissey to snipe these targets and allowing the rest of the team to keep their essential items, not be Pursuit-trapped, and immediately remove a giant threat from the opposing team. Hence, if you get hit with Knock Off, you would receive more damage than Chansey, allowing you to have a higher chance to OHKO the opponent, but more importantly, once you lose your item, an itemless Blissey is far superior to an Eviolite-less Chansey. Seismic Toss allows for consistent chip, Soft-Boiled is for recovery, and Stealth Rock is used on Blissey as opposed to Clodsire due to Blissey having an easier time setting hazards, especially against Charizard-Mega-Y. Only 3 Speed IVs are used because you underspeed Level 99 Alomomola, meaning your opponent will never know what move you used (Counter has negative priority, so if you were faster, if you used Counter, you would go after Alo, but using any other move would make you move before Alo).
*Many strategies were not mentioned. I highly encourage you to use the team and find them.*

Final Thoughts

Overall, this was a very fun experience, unlike the insufferable Regice stall experience. In my opinion, the metagame is currently incredibly bad for stall (Thank you Gholdengo for keeping stall humble). Also, is it me or is half the teams at "high ladder" straight garbage? Personally, using Fat, Bulky Offense, Bulky Balance, and Balance have been incredibly strong and easy to push (hence, why I wanted to use stall so I can challenge myself). Anyways, I hope you enjoy the team and at least had a good read. Hit me up on discord (view my profile) if you have any questions.

Thank you for stopping by! See you next time!

It has been 3000 years since I last posted a sun team. Well dont worry folks, I got something for yall.

32668.jpg

While Leavanny is at least better than the last Chlorophyll mon I posted, Maractus (~Link here in case you're interested~) its not really all that great. 103 atk, 92 speed, mid to poor stats elsewhere, and a horrendous grass/bug typing. But much like Maractus, it does have a standout feature, amd in this case, its the move Sticky Web. Now, Sticky Web as an archetype rn isn't great, it's not awful, and it can even work on tours if you know what you're doing, but it is overall very matchup dependant. But after messing around with it for a bit, I ended up constructing a Sun Webs Hyper Offense team that got me to 1700s, and I feel like it can go even further. With all that said, it's time to show the team...
:ninetales::leavanny::great tusk::houndoom-mega::dragonite::hatterene:

The general goal of the team is to get Sticky Webs up and just bash everything for high damage once they can't outrun the team. Ninetales was the setter of choice for Healing Wish, as it goes very well with this more Hyper Offense approach. Leavanny is of course, the Web setter, but I decided to give it a Life Orb to let it do some damage. Leaf Blade is there for a good stab move, Knock Off is great for removing boots, and Triple Axel helps against mons like Dragonite and Garchomp, which could be an issue for the team. Mega Houndoom loves the webs slowing down some of the mons that would outspeed it like Scarf Tapu Lele. Great Tusk is a personal fav of mine here, as I opted for Life Orb for some brutal damage output alongside the attack Proto boost. The damage is so high, it can do 43.2 to 50.9% to a Max Defense Dondozo. Not convinced yet?

252 Atk Life Orb Protosynthesis Great Tusk Headlong Rush vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Dondozo: 218-257 (43.2 - 50.9%) -- 3.9% chance to 2HKO

Dragonite is the team's Earthquake immunity and a solid swepper on its own right, often times it doesn't need webs to get things done, which is great in case I can't get it on field or its removed. And lastly, Hatterene is here for Magic Bounce, Fairy typing, and just another setup sweeper that doesnt rely on the webs. I am considering to change its set to the Eject Pack set, as a second Healing Wish seems good here, it gives us a pivot in a pinch, amd Nuzzle could help slow things down in cases where webs wont do. So if you want, feel free to do so.

Some replays for proof of concept:
Yard Sun w. Meowscarada:
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9nationaldex-2654889918?p2
Vs MTtar + Tapu Lele Balance:
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9nationaldex-2667268966
Vs Pinkacross's Mbeedrill team:
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9nationaldex-2667272180?p2

Overall, I woulnd't call this team amazing, and I probably wouldn't even bring it to tours, but to simply play ladder or with friends, its definetly a blast to play with. I Hope you guys like this one, feel free to test it out.
