Mechanics
Here's how the Uber's stats are distributed to each teammate.

upload_2016-8-17_1-13-56-png.67552

You will be able to recognize from team preview how your opponent is gifting their stats, based upon the position of their Uber.

Here's an example:

nMYvqNc.png

In this case, Kyogre is my Uber Pokemon and is occupying slot 2. So, because Ferrothorn is in slot 1, it will have its HP stat replaced with Kyogre's base HP of 100. Kyogre is in slot 2, so nothing receives its Atk stat. Since Clefable is in slot 3, it gets Kyogre's Def of 90. Tapu Koko in slot 4 gets Kyogre's SpA of 150. Landorus-T in slot 5 gets Kyogre's 140 SpD, and lastly, Urshifu-R in slot 6 gets Kyogres's 90 Spe. Where you place your 'God' Pokemon is extremely important in developing strong teams, so do not take this important aspect lightly.

Frequently Asked Questions
What happens when the God has a forme change?
The stats of the god prior to form change are what are used to gift to the other teammates. For example, Galarian Darmanitan-Z's teammates will receive the regular forme's stats and Aegislash's teammates will receive the Shield forme's stats. In addition, the Crowned formes of Zacian and Zamazenta will donate the Hero formes' stats.

What about the Gods themselves? Do they gain any stats?
No, they don't. Since they're "gifting" to themselves, their stats remain unchanged.

What if a teammate has a forme change?
The stats will remain constant through out. For example, if Aegislash receives 100 Def then it will have 100 Def in both Shield and Blade forme.

When will X get banned?
There are certainly broken threats that may appear beyond our initial banlist thanks to the coming of a new generation, however, we don't want to ban anything outright before this has been played more. Topics on the banlist may be re-suspected but only if relevant arguments are brought up throughout discussion calling for such an action to occur. Things will be both VERY bulky and VERY strong in this meta, so you must prepare accordingly. When the time comes we can look at God bans and reciever bans, but again, please defer discussion about what needs to go until we can test it.

What if I don't have an Uber on my team?
The Pokemon in the first slot (HP slot) acts as the God Pokemon. Although this strategy isn't necessarily the most effective option, it can most certainly work to some extent thanks to Pokemon with incredibly high stats, such as with Shuckle.

Is this playable anywhere?
Yes! This is playable on the main Pokemon Showdown server.

How do Zacian-C and Zamazenta-C work as Gods?
Zacian-C and Zamazenta-C are battle-only formes, similar to Zygarde-C, so they distribute the stats of their out-of-battle formes. This also applies to Mega and Primal Gods.

:xerneas:
While Xerneas donates great stats, it is broken due to being a powerful sweeper with very limited counterplay and versatile sets. It’s regular Power Herb set allows it to setup quickly and utilises coverage moves like Psyshock and Focus Blast to blast through checks such as Clodsire and Ferrothorn, while also being able to utilise Substitute to avoid Toxic from regular SpDef walls such as Alomomola. Alternatively, Fairium Z Geomancy sets have seen a dramatic rise in usage recently, most notably giving it extra bulk to make it harder for Mega Scizor and Slowking-G to threaten it. Substitute is used for the same reason as before, while Ingrain gives it passive recovery and stops it being forced out by phazers such as Ho-Oh and Skarmory.

:mantine: Swift Swimmers like Mantine become incredibly powerful in rain and after a Special Attack donation, with a hard to resist STAB combination and high BP moves like Hydro Pump and Hurricane. It 2HKOs almost everything and is very hard to revenge kill due to it’s incredible speed tier.

The main post will not be updated till next week as these bans do not apply to this week of NDOTSL

There is probably gonna be some set dump later in the weeks but since other threads seem to have discussion figured I'd put a breakdown of season/thoughts, etc. Won't go too into the games themselves as most of them speak for themselves (my luck and all lol) and BoingK did a good job of breakdowns in prior weeks.

Thanks to TTTech zastra for picking up, had a lot of fun putting stuff together hoping to run it back with you two next year if fate allows it.

Week 1: Asked TTTech for some teams and he passed a couple of things. TTT and I agreed Xern looked very broken so I loaded this from him with a few more offensive revisions for my liking. Loaded into rain and got saved by the Ferro not being Gyro. Xern leaves the tier next week.

Week 2: Verdict officially came that Xern and Swift Swim (watching mantine go crazy was hilarious ngl) were gone after Week 2 so I decided we're loading rain cause it was our only chance. At this point I had a pretty good idea with building/fleshing stuff out so I built everything after Week 1. I figured Kyurem-B with Barra as Atk receiver would go stupid long as I dont see a Rillaboom. Adaptability Bascu-F in rain also helped me feel a bit more secure into fatty stuff, gross damage output this game too. Evie brought Screens Xern because great minds think alike (load the broken shitters) and I crit her only real out to this team. Hanging up this teams Jersey.

Week 3: It was time for webs and I convinced myself that this team would be broken if I load into bulky offense. For the past 3 weeks I was watching everyone load bulky cringe with the unkillable Alomomola (more on that later) and brainless Eter/Pult/Hoopa-U type stuff. Bee + 5 clickers, somethin I was spamming a lot in SV Ubers so figured I could make it work here. TTTech didnt believe in Chomp but like Dj Khaled said "they ain't believe in us, god did" (Chomp did nothing lol). I load into stall and Manaphy basically 5-0s after chip.

Week 4: Faced Uta this week who was subbed in over Xurx so wasn't sure what to bring. Had a bunch of ideas (more on that later) but decided to build the below when Uta asked if I was ready when I hoped on smogtours, lol. Kept psyching myself out that I was going to see Caly-Ice or Iron hands so flaked on the previous ideas and used the screens, which is what I thought the meta would be like going into the tour. Rai/Grimm should be switched but was in a rush when I built this right before game. Uta if you read this the 5 minutes of no response was me trying to figure out chall code sorry :worrywhirl:

Week 5: Clas got slotted in who I knew was a regular GG player but unfortunately wasnt sure what to bring this week after putting together a bunch of ideas. I didnt think this team was good knowing any def mon would be hard to break through without set up but it deviated a bit from my usual stuff in case they try to counterstyle some faster offenses I was running. Unfortunately I threw the game in the later turns and that's that. Originally was going to have Vanilla Marowak over Stat but didn't want to meme too much on the week that mattered (probably would've cooked)

Other ideas throughout the season: Screenshots of other stuff I put together, brainstorming, was considering to use they will be in screenshot hides below. Things may look out of order slot wise if I stopped building half way. It's unfortunate I didn't get to bring "Ifweareeverout" Wishkiller lol.

Last thoughts: This format is incredibly fun, one of the most fun I've played on the site, but I believe would be much better if we prioritized two bans, first two, and some preferential other ones, the ones after.

Alomomola: This mon is one of the dumbest things to account for in builder because it is unkillable without the most extreme options (Serp, rando Sub mons, crazy spatk/atk receivers, etc). Lot of these in screenshot below I basically had to mentally throw in the garbage because there is no way it could KO mola before it flip turns into something that threatens me. When I saw Zard-Y would do 30% to it with Solarbeam that first week I shed tears down my face. I would Restrict this mon, it's a very brainless mon with too high HP, Regen, and options to receive whatever def stat to basically wall that entire spectrum of phys/spatkers of its choosing.

Serperior: never had an issue with it because I loaded hyper offense or some variant like every week but similar to above, lot of stuff had to throw out because I know Serp gets one boost it's over. 15gals and TDM game last week is a good example. Preys on the bulky offenses being used, Glare is cringe (maybe Zyg needs a restriction too) and lot of ways it can receive this Spatk stat via the Gods. Don't want to get too into cause I feel like this is a very easy restriction people would appreciate not getting steamrolled by.

Manaphy: My week 3 game basically, not as bad as Serp, but a mon with Tail Glow, great typing defensively, variety of coverage/z-move options and able to receive from Etern/Arc/Zacian (Speed) is most likely going to be too strong in the format. We can alternately just ban Tail Glow which may be a simpler solution and covers rando Xurx as well.

Iron Hands/Bax: Dont think these mons are as bad but are quite stupid speed receivers in a variety of ways. Granted there's probably some other dumb speed receivers but it does come with the understanding this is GG so you're going to face some pretty wonky stuff here and there. In my own world these would be gone but the top 3 should take some sort of priority.

Tl;dr: 4-1 Season, Ban Cringefish and Serperior, tiers a blast.

I wrote an RMT on a team I built and quite like :)

since i'm out of circuit, here's the other team I built -
:pmd/tapu-koko::pmd/latios-mega::pmd/eternatus::pmd/raichu-alola::pmd/iron-treads::pmd/raging-bolt:
This is the same sorta idea as Clas had for that one Raging Bolt team in SV - get terrain up, kill things. The main difference is that it's easier to build a terrain team here. I could have gone for a Hawlucha idea, but without Tera it's not as potent. The idea is that you get teraain with your exceptionally bulky Tapu Koko, and you proceed to kill things. Landorus-T is an option over Iron Treads, and Eject Button would be a valid item choice as well. This team is meant to lose to Ground-types, but eventually you do enough damage to overload them so they aren't really an issue. Ferrothorn is the other big issue - you have to chip it with FightZ Raichu, Etern, Koko, or remove its item with Treads, so Raging Bolt can eventually kill everything on the field.

Thoughts on the meta:

I didn't get to play NDOTSL and I didn't play GG ssnl very extensively, so these two teams and various tests with Evie and LordBox are all I have got to go off the meta. I think Serperior (as alluded too in AM's post) is pushing the boundaries of healthy rn. I think there is also merit for an Alomomola ban, for similar reasons as CG GG. However, there isn't necessarily a huge push to ban it rn imo, I think it hasn't quite hit unhealthy levels yet, as we have plenty of mons that can take advantage of it and the power level is naturally higher to punish its usage. However, I would not be sad to see the back of that fucking fish

also gengar mega is allowed while im here
tbh im unsure if mega gengar will be banworthy.

The given stats are 60/65/60/130/75/110 all of which are either horrible or mid.

The spdef can get given to alomamola, and the atk to any spatker, and gengar can take one of the final 2, which just leaves hp or defense which can get given to some random mon that doesnt get dropped that much, but after all of that you only have 130 spa and 110 spe.

For mega gengar to be good, it just has to have gengar hard carry and try to sweep, which is more difficult with a bunch of mons that outspeed it. Setting up to +6 is still really scary though, and I think it does have a good chance of being too strong, but it does deserve a chance.

the only actual liabilities are the hp or defense, you just donate atk to a special attacker and hp or def to the suicide lead/other sash guy. you run this guy on HO and you literally just completely steamroll anyone who's running fatter stuff with shadow tag and encore

also gengar mega is allowed while im here
Mega Gengar is something that has been known about for a while and isn't really an oversight, I remember theorymonning around it with Nat and Evie in NDOTSL2 and it has also been brought up in council chat. Back then we kind of came to conclusion that its stats are really too ass to make an actually good team. All the stats are really pretty bad, yeah you can dump the HP and SpD/Def stat, and the Atk stat and use the Speed stat and maybe give SpA to like uh Pult? So basically you dont really get any benefit of its stats and need to dump everything and really rely on MGengar carrying. Granted, it's a MGengar and can obviously do stuff with Encore Plot stuff but it's not an invincible mon either with its extreme frailty, especially into faster more offensive teams. Into Fat I can see it being dumb, though given you honestly probably dont need to care about anything about the MGengar and maybe like a Pult or Zyg I could still see it being playable as long as you're careful. You can probably ban it because it's still annoying for the randoms who will bring it to troll but I can't say it would immensely broken and should be auto-banned.

Mega Gengar is also not even broken into fat, im 3-0 against nat’s Mega Gengar HO using a stall and a fat balance. Mega Gengar is very easily revenge killed by anything provided webs aren’t up, and even then theres pokemon like boots Zeraora that will revenge kill perfectly fine. Additionally, you get a turn before Shadow Tag activates to switch to your Ho-Oh or something and Sacred Fire/Whirlwind. This lets you avoid Encore traps.

hey so uhh.. power construct isnt actually banned despite it being on the banlist..

Complete form also doesnt get the gifted stats which is strange

:aggron-mega:
really good wincon, with hp from giratina you live shit you have no right living, IDBP lets you sweep shit too, owns dd pult and mray

:giratina:
dragon helps vs ogerpons, colbur so you don't die to knock and dtail so you don't lose to hearthflame, defog is niche but can be useful but most ppl are running brain off ho with like just rocks so its chill

:clefable:
in no species clause meta alo #2 is an option here but i like clef here more since it's a pretty good knock absorber, rock setter and knock user to remove boots/boosting items.

:clodsire:
its just regular ass clodsire but ngl its still good as hell in this metagame. water absorb lets you stall out alo. toxic is just good and spikes are broken.

:alomomola:
cringefish!!!!!! alluring voice is whatever honestly you can kinda run whatever i just did this to annoy setup mons w/ confusion. whirlpool traps shit like volc/crown/koko and then you click mirror coat to do funny damage. if you have any doubts about mola living a hit specially it's probably taking 50 and evaporating something with mirror coat

:dondozo:
again its just regular ass dondozo but its still really good for stuff like mzor and mray after they've set up. could run body press over waterfall but idt wellspring is common enough to warrant it

metagame is fucked up but its like fun fucked up so i dont mind, looking forwards to ladder being deshittified in the future though with better implementation. looking forwards to gg open!!!!!!

Ultra Necrozma also doesnt get its speedstat, but only it's speedstat. Shouldve been 329 with my evs. Every other stat is right. In ubers it works like normal.
1000048857.jpg

shouldve been 329 with my evs

In Godly Gift, in-battle transformations always have their stats overridden by gift donations. What is likely happening here is taht Necrozma in its base form (NDM or NDW, i think they have the same speed stat of 77) is donating itself a lower speed stat, and then when Ultra Necrozma bursts, it keeps that same speed stat as it is overriding itself. This is the same reason we don't put Zacian-Cronwed in the attack slot - it is an in-battle transformation and thus will give itself 120 attack

To fix this, you're probably best moving UNecro to a different slot like Defense
