[OVERVIEW]

* At a first glance, Necrozma-DW may seem like a more powerful wallbreaker than Lunala. However, numerous factors undermine Necrozma-DW's effectiveness to the point where there are barely any viable options for it to use.
* Necrozma-DW lacks Shadow Shield, and combined with its low Speed and lack of resistances, it is vulnerable to almost every offensive foe that outspeeds it. Prism Armor does not alleviate Necrozma-DW's extreme weakness to very common threats like Yveltal, Mega Gengar, and Marshadow at all, and its lack of usable coverage moves leaves Necrozma-DW with only a few foes that it can defeat.
* Due to Species Clause, Necrozma-DW cannot be used alongside Necrozma-DM at the same time. Deciding to employ Necrozma-DW over Necrozma-DM and forgo excellent utility options that Necrozma-DM would otherwise provide to the team leads to a question about opportunity cost.
* For these reasons, Necrozma-DW is an unviable Pokemon in the tier. However, thanks to Necrozma-DW's Ghost typing, it can be used over Necrozma-DM on teams that appreciate an offensive spinblocker. As Necrozma-DW can viably utilize a Swords Dance set with Ultranecrozium Z, it can justify use on Sticky Web teams and simultaneously function as a spinblocker and wallbreaker.

Moves
========

* Swords Dance boosts Ultra Necrozma's damage output to the point where it can easily KO offensive foes and pressure defensive foes.
* STAB Photon Geyser has high damage output, and it becomes Light That Burns the Sky with Ultranecrozium Z.
* Earthquake provides Ultra Necrozma with a valuable coverage move to hit Steel-types and common threats like Primal Groudon.
* Stone Edge rounds out Ultra Necrozma's coverage by hitting certain Flying-types like Yveltal and Lugia, which would prove to be serious problems to this set. Necrozma-DW's tendency to draw in Yveltal prior to Ultra Bursting makes Stone Edge an effective way to punish it.
* Rock Blast can be used instead of Stone Edge to better handle Lugia and Charti Berry variants of Yveltal, but its inconsistency can be hazardous.
* Outrage serves as another move to punish Dark-types and other bulky foes that hope to take on Ultra Necrozma with their typing. At +2, Outrage is capable of OHKOing conventional checks like Yveltal and Mega Sableye and, with Stealth Rock up, Arceus-Dark and Lugia.
* Brick Break can help Ultra Necrozma lure and punish Dark-types like Arceus-Dark and Tyranitar, but its low damage against Yveltal and inability to hit Mega Sableye leaves Outrage as generally a better method to combat them.

Set Details
========

* 32 Defense EVs ensure that Ultra Necrozma survives Life Orb Marshadow's Shadow Sneak after Stealth Rock damage. Attack is maximized for Ultra Necrozma's damage output, and the remainder of the EVs are invested in Speed to outspeed Marshadow. Maximum Speed can still be run to Speed tie with opposing Ultra Necrozma and outspeed the occasional Shaymin-S.
* Ultranecrozium Z gives Necrozma-DW an access to Ultra Burst, letting it overcome its low Speed and drastically improve its offensive stats when its spinblocking utility is no longer needed. Ultranecrozium Z also allows Ultra Necrozma to use Light That Burns the Sky.
* Neuroforce makes super effective moves more powerful, allowing Ultra Necrozma to score OHKOs with boosted Earthquake and Stone Edge on foes like Primal Groudon, Necrozma-DM, and Yveltal.

Usage Tips
========

* Necrozma-DW's disappointing defensive typing heavily limits its opportunity to switch into most attacks. Apart from offensively checking Mewtwo and occasionally switching into predicted Normal- or Fighting-type moves, it is recommended for Necrozma-DW to be switched in to block Rapid Spin from Cloyster or Excadrill or revenge kill a foe.
* It is very rare that Necrozma-DW's defensive typing is better than Ultra Necrozma's defensive typing, so Ultra Burst as soon as Necrozma-DW's spinblocking utility is no longer needed so Ultra Necrozma can start pressuring Rapid Spin users or any foe it is contending against. Ultra Bursting also allows Necrozma-DW to overcome its underwhelming Speed and threaten significantly more foes.
* Be quick to set up Swords Dance by taking advantage of defensive foes or forced switches. This allows Ultra Necrozma to pressure foes, particularly Defog users, helping Ultra Necrozma keep entry hazards on the field after it has lost its Ghost typing after Ultra Bursting.
* Light That Burns the Sky cannot be used until the turn after Necrozma-DW has used Ultra Burst. The Z-Move should also be used with caution, as its availability has crucial influence on Ultra Necrozma's matchup against the likes of support Arceus formes.
* While Ultra Necrozma is capable of rampaging through most teams after a Swords Dance, foes like Mega Gengar, Choice Scarf Xerneas, and most Yveltal variants can easily revenge kill Ultra Necrozma, with Yveltal being able to revenge kill Ultra Necrozma with Sucker Punch as well. Ensure these foes are dealt with beforehand; Sticky Web prevents the former two from effectively combating Ultra Necrozma, and Stealth Rock support and offensive pressure will keep Yveltal in line.

Team Options
========

* The best utilities Necrozma-DW can provide to its team are spinblocking and wallbreaking. Therefore, it is best fit on offensive teams, where dedicated hazard setters can set entry hazards to facilitate Necrozma-DW's sweep, while Necrozma-DW can block Rapid Spin and heavily pressure many Defog users. Sticky Web is the best hazard for Necrozma-DW, as it allows Ultra Necrozma to defeat its offensive checks like Mega Gengar and Choice Scarf Xerneas. Smeargle can set Sticky Web while potentially crippling faster threats like Yveltal and Mewtwo with Nuzzle, allowing Necrozma-DW to better deal with them.
* Cloyster, Excadrill, and Deoxys-S are also appropriate options for entry hazard setters for offensive teams. Although Necrozma-DW would generally prefer Sticky Web, the former two's Rapid Spin is always useful, and Excadrill's ability to set Stealth Rock and use Toxic on Mega Sableye is appreciated for Necrozma-DW lacking Outrage. Deoxys-S can also, depending on its moveset, set Stealth Rock against Mega Sableye and situationally provide Necrozma-DW with more preferable hazards, as it has access to both Stealth Rock and Spikes.
* Offensive teammates with Stealth Rock are needed if a Sticky Web user is employed. Both Primal Groudon and Dialga can dent problematic Steel-types with their Fire-type attacks and set Stealth Rock, which is helpful for Necrozma-DW when against Yveltal and Lugia.
* As Necrozma-DW is vulnerable to Dark- and Ghost-types, offensive checks to them are needed. Yveltal can pivot into Dark-type attacks and check Ghost-types. Depending on the variant, Yveltal can prevent Defog with Taunt or safely bring Necrozma-DW into the field with U-turn. Xerneas offensively checks Dark-types, Marshadow, and Giratina-O, and it can take advantage of Ultra Necrozma weakening Steel-types to clean up late-game. Tapu Lele offensively checks Dark-types and summons Psychic Terrain, which protects Necrozma-DW from priority moves and makes Photon Geyser immensely powerful.
* Other wallbreakers like Primal Kyogre, Rayquaza, and Marshadow can assist Necrozma-DW's sweep by hindering defensive cores.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

* A set with Lunalium Z and Calm Mind or Trick Room may seem usable on Necrozma-DW, but Calm Mind sets are utterly outclassed by Lunala, as the extra power does not provide Necrozma-DW with any significant benchmarks. Sets attempting to utilize Trick Room also suffer from Necrozma-DW's inability to reliably set up against most of the tier.
* As Necrozma-DW can transform into Ultra Necrozma with Moongeist Beam, a set with Calm Mind may seen usable. This set can also attempt fitting in Brick Break to lure and punish Tyranitar, Chansey, and Blissey. However, Moongeist Beam lacks relevant targets apart from hitting the rare Mega Slowbro and Lugia. Lugia is already dealt with boosted Stone Edge, and uninvested Brick Break fails to 2HKO Arceus-Dark even after Stealth Rock damage.
* Necrozma-DW is one of the very few Ghost-types that can set Stealth Rock, but it is generally hard to fit, and finding an opportunity to successfully set it is quite difficult.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Dark-types**: Yveltal immensely threatens Necrozma-DW before and after Ultra Bursting, as Dark Pulse cleanly OHKOes both formes and Sucker Punch allows Yveltal to bypass Ultra Necrozma's Speed. However, it cannot handle boosted Stone Edge and its effectiveness as an offensive check can be diminished if Psychic Terrain is active. Choice Scarf Yveltal can revenge kill Ultra Necrozma easily if it switched in safely. Both Arceus-Dark and Mega Sableye are solid defensive checks to Ultra Necrozma lacking Outrage.

**Steel-types**: Ground-immune Steel-types, namely Skarmory and Celesteela, comfortably take on Ultra Necrozma and are only concerned about a boosted Z-Move. Other Steel-types like Necrozma-DM and Dialga are less effective checks due to their vulnerability to Earthquake, but they can take on unboosted Ultra Necrozma.

**Revenge Killers**: Priority moves, such as Shadow Sneak from Marshadow and Giratina-O and Sucker Punch from Yveltal, easily dispose of Ultra Necrozma if it has taken some prior damage. Mega Gengar and Choice Scarf Xerneas can OHKO Ultra Necrozma, but they cannot contend against it if Sticky Web is on the field.

**Bulky Foes**: Support Arceus formes are not OHKOed by Ultra Necrozma unless it is boosted and has its Z-Move available, and they can remove entry hazards with Defog, which is detrimental especially if Ultra Necrozma is reliant on Sticky Web or Stealth Rock to bypass its checks. Other bulky foes like Zygarde-C and Lugia can check Ultra Necrozma with their sheer bulk, but the former's efficiency as a check varies on how well the opponent activated Power Construct and whether or not Necrozma-DW has Outrage, and Lugia fails to check Ultra Necrozma if Stealth Rock is up.

This Pokemon is very awful and I just felt like I am writing a separate analysis for Ultra SD from Necrozma-DM revamp. This is ready for QC.

I'd say put max Speed in set details for those that care about Shaymin-S or like another Ultra Necrozma but... actually just do that to be a completionist.

Ultra Dawn sets typically have to Ultra Burst very quickly. It comes into a Rapid Spin user and then pretty much has to Ultra Burst to make something care about it, because its attack stat as Dawn is super low (113, no item, no boosting ability) meaning it typically blocks a spin (or blocks the potential spin play by existing as a Ghost) and is Ultra Necrozma from then on. This is worth going over in Usage Tips.

**Revenge Killers**: Priority moves, such as Shadow Sneak from Marshadow and Giratina-O and Sucker Punch from Yveltal easily disposes of Ultra Necrozma-DM
has science gone too far

. . .

* 32 Defense EVs ensures that Ultra Necrozma survives Life Orb Marshadow's Shadow Sneak after Stealth Rock damage. Attack was maximized for Ultra Necrozma's damage output and the remainder of the EVs were invested in Speed. 224 Speed EVs are sufficient for Ultra Necrozma to outspeed Marshadow. Max Speed can still be run to speed tie with opposing Ultra Necrozma and outspeed occasional Shaymin-S.
* It is very rare that Necrozma-DW's defensive typing is better than Ultra Necrozma's defensive typing, so use Ultra Burst as soon as Necrozma-DW's spinblocking utility is no longer needed so that Necrozma-DW can start pressuring Rapid Spin user or any foe it is contending against. Ultra Burst also allows Necrozma-DW to overcome its underwhelming Speed and threaten significantly more foes.
Also fixed that stupid typo in Checks & Counters.

and smaller movepool leaves Necrozma-DW with fewer number of foes that it can defeat.
Pretty minor, but reword it to something along the lines of less effective coverage options.

* As Necrozma-DW can transform into Ultra Necrozma with Moongeist Beam, a set with Calm Mind may seen usable. However, Moongeist Beam lacks relevant targets apart from hitting the rare Mega Slowbro and Lugia, and the latter is dealt with boosted Stone Edge.
Mention that this set can run mixed with Brick Break for Blissey and Dark-types like Tyranitar.

* Necrozma-DW is the only Ghost-type that can set Stealth Rock,
Minor nitpick but Ghostceus can too

Other bulky foes like Zygarde-C and Lugia can check Ultra Necrozma with their sheer bulk, but the former's efficiency as a check varies on how well an opponent activated Power Construct,
And if DW is running Outrage.

Implement for QC: 2/3

* Other wallbreakers like Primal Kyogre, Rayquaza, and Marshadow can assist Necrozma-DW's sweep by hindering defensive cores.

Other Options
=============

===================

Other bulky foes like Zygarde-C and Lugia can check Ultra Necrozma with their sheer bulk, but the former's efficiency as a check varies on how well the opponent activated Power Construct and whether or not Necrozma-DW has Outrage, and Lugia fails to check Ultra Necrozma if Stealth Rock is up.

a few comments content-wise, good work though
