Hello Everyone
Pretty new to posting on this forum so please pardon any small mistakes. I have recently got into competitive Pokemon and have been playing plenty of games on the Simulator but unfortunately without any positive results to show for it. I do however feel like i can take some good positives from my more recent games
Anyway originally i started off by copying lists that people considered good from here and with that came a mixed bag of results and after all the gaming i came to the conclusion that they didnt fit my playstyle so i started trying to put together my own team and originally they sucked and then they improved slightly and now im to the point that i think i can share with you my team without being to embarassed
So my battle plan is pretty simple hard and fast. Its a fast paced team that tries to defeat the opponent before it has a chance to set up stat changes and mass entry hazards. Jolteon leads the way and hopefully if its able to do a work up or a charge beam and then baton pass to Sweeper, they will then be able to really sweep thanks to the boost in Speed. Tyranitar and Skarmory are for Switch ins such as when the Sweeper encounters something that you're sure it cannot KO. The Tanker or Wall would then absorb the damage, sending out Jolteon again or another Sweeper when I predict another switch.
Anyway without further ado, the team:
The Lead/Baton Passer:
Jolteon
Baton Pass
Substitute
Work Up
Charge beam
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Volt Charge
Nature: Timid
EV: 252 HP/ 4 SpA/ 252 Spe
If American Football was the analogy, this here would be the QB. Jolteon is the fastest Baton Passer in the game, allowing it to set up and Baton Pass before the opponent can attack. Work Up and Charge Beam are good stat boosting moves, though Charge Beam can be unreliable at times. Jolteon can also set up a Substitute against Choiced Rotom or Zapdos with his ability, Volt Absorb.
Physical Sweeper:
Mamoswine
Icicle Crash
Earthquake
Ice Shard
Superpower
Item: Life Orb
Ability: Thick Fat
Nature: Adamant
EV: 252 Atk/ 4 HP/ 252 Spe
The American Football Analogy again; Mamoswine would be the Ray Lewis of the Team able to put a decent hit on pretty much the biggest threats. Its biggest weakness is Speed and thats where hopefully Jolteon supports him.
Physical Sweeper 2:
Lucario
Swords Dance
Close Combat
ExtremeSpeed
Bullet punch
Item: Life Orb
Ability: Inner focus
Nature: Adamant
EV: 252 Atk/ 4 HP/ 252 Spe
The teams hard hitting Safety. Comparitively to the other big hitters in the team Lucario is Quick and can be made quicker. ExtremeSpeed helps me avoid Revenge killings.
Special Sweeper:
Starmie
Rapid Spin
Ice beam
Psyshock
Surf
Item: Life Orb
Ability: Natural cure
Nature: Timid
EV: 252 SpA/ 4 SpD/ 252 Spe
The Tight End. Starmie performs to roles in this team it can be both a Special Sweeper and a Spinner because 1) The team needs a Special Sweeper 2)Entry Hazards hurt this team hard and Starmie is able to do both thanks to its combination of speed, power and coverage.
Tank:
Tyranitar
Crunch
Pursuit
Superpower
Stone edge
Item: Lum Berry
Nature: Careful
EV: 252 HP/ 76 Atk/ 180 SpD
The Running back. Able to turn the tide back against weather teams (Pardon the pun) Its vertaility is its greatest strength and being able to weather even the hardest hits. This allows him to always be able to keep a check on most mahor threats in the tier
The Wall:
Skarmory
Taunt
Roost
Whirlwind
Brave bird
Item: Lum Berry
Ability: Sturdy
Nature: Careful
EV: 224 HP/ 252 Def/ 32 SpD
The Lineman, working both sides of the ball. Generally its considered Spikes is better in this setup over either Taunt or Brave bird but with a spinner in the team it seems counter intuitive. Brave bird allows him to put the damage on. Roost allows him to stick around and Whirlwind is there to stop mass stat increasing teams.
There we have it. What do you think?
