this. My Penile team would be so strong if I could keep sun up :). I actually really enjoyed the teambuilding this time. There were a bunch of words I wanted to try, but eventually the idea of using a joke prevailed! Also specs hyper beam noctowl the strongest.
 
Outside of Serp and potentially Ditto, I get the feeling that DW NU is going to be crazy fun.
 
Who needs regen cores? Alomomola is all you need!

That is how this works. Using Serp was so unsafe since everyone had ditto with them :).

I used a fairly standard team, but with Mixed Emboar to try and break walls. He did a good job spamming Fire Blast but thats about it. Except for EQing Natgeos Lampent :).

Everyone had the same general core. Lampent / Ditto / Serperior / Alomomola /(Amoonguss or fun stuff) because its just so effective.

Also Skuntank getting like 5 defence drops against natgeo gg
 
Too bad Amoonguss was redundant with King Serperior.

One of the strongest Pokemon in the DW meta is going to be Cinccino, which outspeeds Serperior and can hit extremely hard, 2HKOing even Amoonguss.

Also whoever sends out Serp first loses due to Ditto (If you can't keep sub up)

I ran a simple but fun theme today. No switching allowed. RP Camerupt doing work. Ban Tangled Feet. Don't be set-up fodder etc. In the end MMF prevailed over FLCL!

This was actually a really fun theme. My team basically just set up hazards and then put pressure with sweepers and it worked out pretty well. RP Camerupt too boss.
 
We had a BW2 NU showdown earlier today. The battles were on PS! so unfortunately there is no logs. Bracket

I choked so hard against FLCL :(. Also i'm removing Samurott from my teams until Amoonguss is dealt with. It can't work with him around. Bring back Tangela!
 
Another simple showdown today. Standard BW2 but with Cinccino and Amoonguss banned.

CBB prevailed over FLCL in the end.

so I had no idea subsplit weezing would even work but I wanted an additional Sawk check so I went with that

it's fucking fantastic

Ice Punch Sawk didn't get to shine, but it could have had I not fucked up against flcl.

I also had Scarf Samurott because of a mistake, which I kept after R1 because it actually fit pretty well even though that was pretty retarded

good showdown imo

Been awhile since we had a showdown! Today's theme was: Standard BW2 but with no Normal, Dark, Psychic, or Fighting type Pokemon allowed. That meant that things like Cinccino, Skuntank, and Musharna were not usable.

Losing in the finals like that was frustrating, but I guess I deserved it after avoiding Klang sweep through bs R1.

Anyway, Regen cores dominate and nearly won it so that's cool. Amoonguss and Alomomola too strong. That's what I gathered from this showdown.
 
I am the hax king. Haxed Natgeo like crazy, AA's Focus Blast missed and I swept him because of it. And I got a timely crit on CBB to win it :)

LO Piloswine is really strong, I did miss the extra bulk but the power was worth it in this tourney. Also acroblimp was doing work the entire time :)
 
First off, I want to say sorry to everyone for not running these showdowns every night as I intended to do. Real life stuff really caught up with me towards the end of the month, and it just wasn't possible.

Secondly, congratulations to FLCL, the first #Neverused Showdown champion!!! After many trials and tribulations, as well as (nearly) a month of tournaments, he was head and shoulders above the rest, so credit where credit is due. Raseri put up a decent fight, finishing just 9 points shy of FLCL's 29, while Zebraiken and MMF tied for third place with 15. We had 24 individual point scorers, which to me makes this a complete success as a large part of the community got involved.

Finally I want to thank everyone who hosted any of the showdowns, this wouldn't have worked without you doing it. In particular Raseri and MMF deserve thanks for taking over some of the American timesolts when I could not.

Once NU settles down again, we can start this up, hopefully with some modifications. For now, GO AND PLAY BW2.
