Ggs Charizards, boa sorte Brazil. It's very cool how close the standings are for this tour, I'm excited to watch the next few weeks of games. This is a huge week for pretty much every team and last week the lower-ranked team won 3 of the 4 series.
Screen Shot 2022-01-03 at 11.33.55 AM.png

i was 8/22 last week... i hate mons. Making up for it with some hopefully higher-quality writing this week =]

(5) Bulk Up Braviarys vs Shiny Charizards (5)
SS: Elias PSY vs Star - I haven't been impressed by Elias' two wins; he really needed a crit versus zS's Ninjask and also beat stall w a lot of good RNG vs Dani, though I don't think that game was a total robbery -- some RNG is inevitable in a long game with very slow progress like that one. I still think Star is one of the best players on the site and Ho3n can pass him good teams, even tho i hear their team is sort of dead
SS: TJ vs S1nn0hC0nfirm3d - Ho3n is a beast, unsure I'd predict any SS player over him in this tour. Would rly only consider it for kush/sensei/onarceus/xavgb and the god warrior and even then it's like 50-50. He's great at adapting to new metas and I'm excited to see what he and the rest of the Zards slots bring
SS: avarice vs GoldCat - I like avarice but i'm not sure who will build for them in the new meta, GoldCat plays the tier more and thus should probably be favored
SM: EviGaro vs Xiri - this has dead game written all over it ngl. I like Evi's SM and Xiri is 1-3 so far in this tour
ORAS: gorex vs Drud - Drud hasn't played this tier before (to my knowledge) and the Charizards are winless in ORAS
BW: cb aaron judge vs NHelioX7 - He's a solid 3-1, sure
DPP: Bughouse vs Ara - Ara is 2-1 but I like Bughouse's teams more I'm p sure. Not to take credit away from Ara but I blame myself for that loss since I got lazy and let us roll up w something owned by tspikes; this is a crucial week for the Braviaries so I think theyll try a lot
ADV: neomon vs Roseybear - Rosey's ADV game last week was quite confusing to say the least; Psychic vs the 16% Dunsparce won on the spot. Was it a choke or did the Chimecho not have Psychic? Either way I will take the manager self-buy - fairly close mu though, both are 2-2 and I still think rosey is solid
GSC: Holly vs SOMALIA - ceo, 3-1, etc; Zards are also winless in GSC
RBY: Oiseau Bleu vs Ika Ika Musume - according to pac Ika is very invested in RBY NU, and he does have a strong 3-1 record so far

(5) Dewford Duckletts vs Rabioots (5)
SS: sensei axew vs Kushalos - Unsure how Sensei will adopt to Zong-less meta, I prefer the Rabioots' SS core at adapting to this change and Sensei will prob be more focused on the Zong meta because of circuit playoffs.
SS: OnArceus vs xavgb - Stresh has been excellent this tour, glad I ranked him as high as #10 :v4: i did rank OnArceus higher but he's also in the awkward position of playing for circuit in a meta with Bronzong. Additionally, even without that I'd trust the OM god's ability toadapt to the new meta, quickly discover brokens and underrated threats, etc. OnArceus dont lose to Scrafty
SS: daniYSB vs freezai - sure gimme dani even tho freezai won last week and I think dani can tilt a bit too easily over rng
SM: poh vs quziel - I like both, quziel's record is a bit better though. I also beat poh in SM NU cup like 2 years ago when i was a noob and didnt know the tier before; I'm not saying this because it actually matters i just want to add text so this isnt just me bolding with no reasoning. I hope u enjoyed this informative read. Here are the replays. Poh consider yourself flexed on.
ORAS: Kiyo vs Luck O' the Irish - I liked what Kiyo brought against us, but after a loss last week a win by irish could send him spiraling into washed territory.... after watching Irish's replay from last week I can't feel confident enough to bold him as much as I like the guy. Regirock seems really good in this tier right now btw, putting in a lot of work vs Irish and Robjr. Should be a close game, looking forward to it.
BW: Togkey vs Nalorium - I've been more convinced by Togkey's wins, which makes sense since he might be the best BW NUer of all time and perhaps a top 10 player. Not of mons, to be clear - top 10 of any game or form of competition. And not 10. Meanwhile, I might need to adjust my priors on nalorium; I thought he was pretty bad for a while NGL but he went 5-2 in UUSD and is currently 3-1 in this tour. Good for u man! Going to bold the young prodigy (only like 40% ironic) but this should also be a good game.
DPP: Ninja vs Heysup - Heysup teams are pretty hit or miss, and I'd say they hit more than they miss in DPP. His lead Rapidash set vs Beraldinho was really cool; it owned me in tests and was lucked out of the win in last week's game. This is Ninja's debut, I believe, so good luck to him.
ADV: HSOWA vs banks - In ADV I'd say Heysup's teams really hit; despite playing kinda bad vs me in cup (where I then played bad vs the breeze) he has a ton of cool signature mons. Won't list them all here -- no reason to give everything away -- but Double Edge mixed Flareon is an insanely powerful set that I picked up from him.
GSC: Lunala vs vani - Lunala's legit farming here LOL wtf... meanwhile vani has looked p unimpressive and tilted a lot. they dont seem to care abt the tier (fair enough, honestly) so their teams havent been that great in my rough estimation.
RBY: May vs Enigami - Sure, I'll take the upset, May is always super motivated in these and ik Enigami has struggled big-time this tour.

(6) Pablominables vs Lullaby Vullabies (4)
SS: Raptor vs EternalSnowman - EternalSnowman got a nice win over Kush last week and is rewarded w a matchup against Raptor, who I currently rate super highly after he has farmed a bunch of these lower tier tours (and officials, tbh). I'll take the favorite here
SS: Davon vs atomicllamas - Ik llamas likes to click in oldgens w his old teams, and I love the guy, but idk if playing SS fits him all that well. Davon's teams are p standard so it isnt too likely he'll be caught off guard by a tech, but I just generally trust him more in this tier; even standard sets like Steel coverage on normals for Diancie might throw off the non-SS player
SS: GW vs Sabella - GW has been rolling and looks very good in his teamtour games... perhaps his curse shifted to individuals, or perhaps he isn't cursed at all =] keep it up man
SM: Garay oak vs Ark - Garay is very scary in SM
ORAS: The Goomy vs Abejas - Abejas brought the god rock last week he can't possibly lose.. he's also really good at this tier, I feel, while I dont trust the goomy as much
BW: Lily vs shiloh - ok this makes sense since lily has been like 1-4 in this tour but pragmatically every time i change what i predict she does the opposite so she will probably actually win this.
DPP: Staxi vs fatty - P much a tossup, I'll give fatty the edge since I think his experience will make him solid against the TDK toxic spam teamstyle that tends to farm ppl w less experience.
ADV: Raichy vs Stockings - I like Stockings, but didn't actually realize that Raichy is 3-1, dang. Cool game from him last week, where he handled potentially tilting things like Flareon being slower than Wailord and missing an attack vs Mawile's Substitute that let it get a Baton Pass off. Both played well last week so this should be a highlight game
GSC: HSA vs Earthworm - Earthworm is great at mons and should also have better teams in this tier where the Pablos have only won vs Somalia so far.
RBY: Serpi vs Lord Thorx - Serpi is great in this tier, currently undefeated I believe. THorx has done well but gotta favor the RBY king here.

Serpi

World Defender
RBY: Khaetis vs Koalacance - Khaetis has been looking better this tour in comparison, but Koala is always dangerous
RBY: Oiseau Bleu vs Ika Ika Musume - rlly high on this guy by now, solid NU being played by Ika; OB will have to come up with a good prep here to keep up
RBY: May vs Enigami - solid player, will probably run away with the W here
