Welcome to the NFE Triathlon! Players will compete in separate tournaments for the ORAS, SM, and SS generations, culminating in a finals where players will have to put their knowledge of all 3 generations to the test to have a chance to win take home the glory!​

The format consists of three separate tournaments: the ORAS CUP, the SM Cup, and the SS Cup. Each tournament is single elimination, best of three. Depending on your performance in a Cup, you will be awarded points. The point system is the same as the one used in Smogon Classic. When all the Cups have been finished, the 8 players with the most points will advance to the playoffs. This year's format will be a best-of-3. Higher seed choses the first tier and then the loser of each battle choses the next one. NFE Triathlon II will also be a part of the NFE Circuit!

Signups for each Cup will be posted as shown below here in the unofficial circuit subforum. The hosts are allowed to play in the tournament that they are administering, as long as they get outside assistance for activity calls when they are involved. Here is the list of the Cups with the names of the hosts and the dates each will be posted:


If there are any questions, post in this thread and I will answer them as well as I can. Do not use this thread as a venue to complain about the format. Also keep in mind that this thread is NOT the place to sign up for the NFE Triathlon. Players wanting to participate in the NFE Triathlon must sign up for each individual Cup posted over the next three weeks. Good luck to everyone competing!

I never entered any of these tournaments, I’m not new to competitive playing I’m just new to this whole tournament thing if anyone is able to help that’d be awesome

Hello, here are the resources for NFE (LINK HERE). Inside you can find relevant resources towards NFE as a whole, as well as the NFE Old Gens Hub, which is especially relevant for this Triathlon. In the Old Gens hub, you can find sample teams, viability rankings, etc. to help participate.

The Triathtlon has 3 separate tournaments for generations 6-8. As of now, SS signups are closed, SM signups are open until Monday, and ORAS signups will open on that same Monday, until the end of the week. If you click the “The SM Cup” in the opening message of this thread, it will lead you to the thread to sign up. The link to the ORAS Cup will be added Monday.
