Standings and Records

All slots are bo1 by default. However, all slots can be played bo3 if both parties agree to bo3 beforehand via PUBLIC SMOGON VM. It needs to be public and visible to the hosts; a private Discord confirmation or PS message just before the game is not valid.

SM NFE will be played in the gen 7 OU format. The banlist and resources for this metagame can be found here.
ORAS NFE will be played in the gen 6 RU format. The banlist and resources for this metagame can be found here.
BW NFE will be played in the gen 5 Ubers format. The banlist and resources for this metagame can be found here.
DPP NFE will be played in the gen 4 UU format. The banlist and resources for this metagame can be found here.

Managers and Assistant Managers are responsible for ensuring that their players do not bring illegal teams to their games. If a player brings an illegal team, the opposition are free to either take the win or offer a redo.
To this end, the ROM server has a functional team validation system for Generation 4-7 NFE (NOTE: Horsea is banned in DPP NFE, but this ban has not been updated on the validator on ROM yet). I highly recommend checking the validity of any Old Generation teams on the ROM server prior to any games. However, please play your games on either Smogtours or the Main PS! Server in the formats listed above, as ROM has been known to be glitchy mechanically and in terms of uploading replays.
Regarding DPP NFE, if the game ends up as a draw due to both Pokemon fainting on the last turn (Explosion, Recoil, Status Damage etc) then another game must be played until someone wins. Teams can be changed for a rematch.

This set is close as fuck, the only one sided match here could be in ORAS (maybe). Besides that both SS and SM are anyones game.
I think both teams are about evenly matched in skilled players so its gonna come down to some heat prep.

I only wanted to do predicts for playoffs, since I find them kinda redundant otherwise since there's little basis besides outside tours, and with Mafia being in playoffs this is my only guaranteed chance of making a prediction.

SS NFE: xavgb vs. Kaif
I think these records speak for themselves; :xavgb: hasn't dropped a game yet, while kaif is sitting at 2-4. I would say that kaif had tough opponents...until I saw xavgb had basically the same ones each week. I also trust Morgrems building support much more than Leo, since from what i've heard they have multiple people helping, and just by looking at this lineup it's clear that pileo/leo are forced to take the reins in terms of building, or at the very least correct errors in their teammates builds.

SS NFE: MAMP vs. Velvet Blood
I rate MAMP very similar to a lot of the Mafia SS players, quietly building above average-good records, because of their natural skill + losing the odd game while getting comfortable with the tier. On the other end of the coin, I'd say that Velvet has lost to the people i'd rate higher, and beaten the lower seeded players. However, there's some inconsistencies, for better and for worse. The only win vs Nalei is something no one's really acknowledged, however a loss to OBB is something that puzzles me, however I may have to rewatch both of those matches to make sure there wasnt major luck involved on either side. I'd say this is MAMP favoured, but if Velvet swings above her weight again this MU could look much more even.

SS NFE: Rav3ndan vs. pileosand
This MU is weird, since I'd group both of these players in the same category; above average 3rd SS (in cors's case ig i'd place pileo at the first slot since I think he's better than kaif), but they're relativly equal in skill. I think this one will come down to builds, since the Morg's are the one team to shy away from the Raboot-centric meta in an attempt to try to counter it, while most other teams have embraced it. However, while saying that the Morg's have also been at the forefront during the pre-pika meta, so I dont think their takes on the meta are bad at all, even if they're far from my team's builds. If the building core of the cors's step back and analyze the hattrem based cores of the morg's and find wincons that beat both Rabootey cores and the more far flung teambuilding that the Cors's have shown us, I'd rate their players higher. Until then, I think the Morgrem's SS are the highest in the pool, but only due to a building standpoint.


SM NFE: Catalystic vs. CrazyStevy
Catalystic is a player that has been embraced by the Monotype, Anything Goes and the Other Metagames community, which speaks to his individual skill that you can recognize him and his successes for completely different reasons than the next guy doing analyses. The main reason he isn't better known is that he goes in spurts for tours, where he'll join a bunch then fade off until his motivation comes back. Stevy on the other hand is more based in NFE/lower tiers, so he has inherently more comfort with NFE. With that in mind, I think stevy's builds can be kinda weird at times, but cata doesn't make his own teams. On player skill Cata>Stevy, but if Stevy can refine his style some more, like how he was starting to in later weeks this may be closer than it appears

SM NFE: Skysolo vs. King Leo V
Alkione 2 will not have enough firepower to defeat Playoff Leo. That is all.

ORAS NFE: GL Volkner vs. Monsareeasy
Arctic favored, especially because the ORAS slot has not been consistent in builds from the morg's. For morg's to get this win they may have to divert time away from bw/ss, which could weaken those slots. Not too much to say here, it's quite Arctic favored.

BW NFE: Fille vs. ggopw
Interesting match vs a seemingly underdog Fille vs someone who's been solid in BW all tour. I think Fille's a better player at his peak (drunk), but we'll see how many beers it will take for Fille to get into the zone. Fille also has much more of a tendency to bring techs, and I think this MU will be based more on if they land, and if the consistency of ggopw can weather the storm of a bunch of great and not-so-great plays from fille.


DPP NFE: Jett vs. Tomahawk
Toma's been Mael's practice partner for a lot of the tour, and the two of them have a uniquely DPPOU take on the tier where they somehow make specific unmons work that the rest of the NFE playerbase has rejected throughout the generations after years of mediocrity. At the start of this tour i'd have never expected the best team we'd make would be a Onix HO, or that Toma's Quick Attack banded ponyta would somehow beat rain, but I think that level of out-of-the-box thinking is just what's needed to defeat a "mainer" player in Jett.
