[SET COMMENTS]
Alolan Ninetales is a crucial Pokemon on Ice thanks to its great typing and utility in Snow Warning and Aurora Veil. Moonblast threatens Fighting-, Dark-, and Dragon-types such as Galarian Zapdos, Crawdaunt, and Kyurem. Freeze-Dry hits Water-types like Swampert and Gastrodon. Encore allows Alolan Ninetales to punish passive walls, setup sweepers, and entry hazard setters like Corviknight, Tapu Fini, and Clefable. Light Clay is preferred to get maximum value from Aurora Veil, but Icy Rock can be run if using Arctozolt. A bulkier spread with maximum HP investment over Special Attack is an option to provide more opportunities to set up Aurora Veil.

All of Alolan Ninetales's teammates appreciate Aurora Veil and it checking dangerous Fighting-types such as Urshifu-R. Kyurem can check Fire-types that wall and scare out Alolan Ninetales like Heatran and Volcanion and threaten them with Earth Power. Dragon Dance Kyurem, in particular, appreciates Alolan Ninetales's Aurora Veil to ease setting up Substitute and Dragon Dance. Piloswine is a more passive Pokemon that can perform a similar role in checking Fire-types such as Volcarona and Heatran with help from Aurora Veil while also being able to set Stealth Rock. Cloyster can get rid of entry hazards for Alolan Ninetales while also chipping Steel-types such as Melmetal with Rocky Helmet and bringing it in safely with Teleport. Galarian Darmanitan and Weavile are offensive wallbreakers that can abuse the special bulky Pokemon that wall Alolan Ninetales, like Slowking and Aegislash. Arctozolt can use Alolan Ninetales's Hail to decimate offensive teams and common checks to Alolan Ninetales like Celesteela and Corviknight. Mamoswine is an option for a more offensive Stealth Rock setter that can help preserve offensive momentum.

Grudge is an option that lures and depletes the PP of threatening moves, namely Melmetal's Double Iron Bash, but its usefulness is very situational. Hypnosis is a similarly inconsistent option, but it can cripple an opposing wall or sweeper if it hits.

Hi Felines, Happy new year! Its the year of cats so I guess it translates to a boost in luck? :blobpex:

AM QC (apply only what you like)
[Overview]
-also add it helps in water/ground mu because hail overrides rain/sandstorm + freeze dry op (you dont underspeed peli/hippo tho but you can always go darm first then uturn to A.Tales)
-it would be nice to add subroostKyu as teammates that benefit Aurora Veil, because its sub becomes wayway scarier than like Weavile
-I'd rather use Hydreigon over Pult on common dragon types because Pult usually outspeeds and uhhh if you cant guess the set you might get smacked by specs Fire blast...which isnt really nice
-it would be nice to add that Ninetales-A really doesnt do much damage/threaten bulky Dragon-types and Water-types even if you have supereffective damage, but am not sure about it.

[SET]
-slash Icy Rock on item (you mentioned it on set comments)

[SET COMMENTS]
-Crawdaunt is an odd example of a dark mon, it isnt really that common. Maybe Hydreigon/Zarude be better?
-Encore also punishes hazard/stealth rock setters btw, and setup sweepers that try to setup on it because of its underwhelming damage output. Idt Mantine will defog infront of A.Tales because getting freeze dried isnt nice.

-you could say that Pilo/Mamo also provides an elec immunity and can check spattackers like Blace
-Idt Cloy checks Melm or Celesteela, maybe say it checks (punishes??) physattackers like Barra + sets more hazards or something instead?
-"Galarian Darmanitan and Weavile are offensive wallbreakers that can abuse the special walls that target Blissey, for example Slowking and Aegislash." Idt thats Blissey...but A.Tales?
-If you like, you can add Avalugg that actually checks phys attackers + loves Aurora veil, but Idt its high in the VR...

Checks and counters

-Add steel types because Ninetales really cant do much about it.

[Overview]
- Alolan Ninetales is a crucial Pokemon on Ice thanks to its great typing and utility in Snow Warning and Aurora Veil. With the combination of Snow Warning and Aurora Veil, Alolan Ninetales can instantly provide support to its team by halving damage from oncoming attacks and chipping the opposing team with Hail.
- Remove the Moonblast Line. I'd add pult to the exca line becuz spec flame infil is danger.

[Moves]
- Remove Blizzard
- Add Icy Rock
- Mention a Bulky spread in HP as an alternative in the paragraph (with spa -> hp)

[Teammates]
- replace celes with a another contact pokemon like melmetal. u don't have to specify steel-types here either. it can check urshifu also with helmet and it also provides teleport for ninetales in water mu.

[OO]

"hazards" to "entry hazards"

[OVERVIEW]

Ice
========
Alolan Ninetales is a crucial Pokemon on Ice thanks to its great typing and utility in Snow Warning and Aurora Veil. Aurora Veil support is especially important for many of its teammates on Ice teams, such as Weavile and Darmanitan-Galar, because of their poor defensive typing and frailty. While Alolan Ninetales' usefulness on Ice teams is unrivaled, its weakness to hazards and faster Pokemon that can bypass Aurora Veil such as Choice Scarf Excadrill and Choice Specs Dragapult must be addressed by its teammates.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moonblast threatens Fighting-, Dark-, and Dragon-types such as Zapdos-Galar, Crawdaunt, and Kyurem. Freeze-Dry hits Waters-types like Swampert and Gastrodon. Encore allows Alolan Ninetales to punish status moves such as Roost and Defog from the likes of Corviknight and Mantine, and provides a free turn for Alolan Ninetales to set up Aurora Veil or switch out. Light Clay is preferred to get the maximum value out of Aurora Veil, but Icy Rock can be run if using Arctozolt. A bulkier spread with maximum HP investment over maximum Special Attack investment is an option to provide more opportunities to set up Aurora Veil.

All of Alolan Ninetales' teammates appreciate its Aurora Veil support and checking of dangerous Fighting-types such as Urshifu-R. Kyurem can check Fire-types that wall and scare out Alolan Ninetales like Heatran and Volcanion and threaten them with Earth Power. Dragon Dance Kyurem in particular appreciates Alolan Ninetales' Aurora Veil to ease setting up Substitute and Dragon Dance. Piloswine is a more passive Pokemon that can perform a similar role in checking Fire-types, while also being able to set Stealth Rock to help rack up chip damage. Cloyster can get rid of hazards for Alolan Ninetales while also checking Steel-types such as Melmetal and bringing it in safely with Teleport. Galarian Darmanitan and Weavile are offensive wallbreakers that can abuse the special walls that target Blissey, for example Slowking and Aegislash. Grudge is an option that lures and targets threatening moves, namely Melmetal's Double Iron Bash, but its usefulness is very situational. Hypnosis is a similarly inconsistent option, but can cripple an opposing wall or sweeper if it hits.

Checks and Counters
===================

Ice
--------
**Specially Defensive Walls**: Walls such as Galarian Slowking, Celesteela, Heatran, and Blissey fear little from Alolan Ninetales and can take advantage of it for their own purposes. Tyranitar in particular can deny Aurora Veil completely while taking negligible damage from Moonblast.

**Faster Pokemon**: Many faster Pokemon like Cinderace, Choice Scarf Hydreigon, and Choice Scarf Excadrill can threaten to OHKO Alolan Ninetales before it can use Aurora Veil. Others, such as Tornadus-Therian, can threaten to Knock Off Alolan Ninetales before the Aurora Veil gets used, mitigating its effectiveness.

**Entry Hazards**: Alolan Ninetales is easily worn down by hazards due to its vulnerability to all of Stealth Rock, Spikes, and Toxic Spikes.

[Overview]
-Mention that the weather changing abilities help in Ground/Water matchup(?)
-Mention that its part fairy typing is useful vs Dragon (Makes Scarf Latis think twice before Draco Meteor-ing Galarian Darmanitan) and Fighting (even more so because stuff like Urshifu-R are slower than Alolan Ninetales, which lets Alolan Ninetales kill threats like that)
-Mention that its spattack isnt really the best, so it can be used as setup fodder by stuff like Excadrill, especially if the opposing enemy wasn't weak to its STABs

[Set Comments]
-Mention that Encore also punishes stealth rock setters and setup sweepers that try to setup on it because of its underwhelming damage output. Idt defoggers will defog on Ninetales-A because Ice STAB is scary for defoggers (Mantine, especially)

-Add that Pilo can check Setup sweepers like Volcarona and the Veil support turns it into a very good special wall
-Cloyster can't check steel types like Melmetal, it only chips them (and physattackers like Zarude) with rocky helm
-Galarian Darmanitan and Weavile are offensive wallbreakers that can abuse the special walls that target Blissey, for example Slowking and Aegislash. (should be Alolan Ninetales)

[Checks and Counters]
-Mention weather changing mons? Tyranitar/Torkoal are all slower than it and deny Aurora Veil.

Grudge is an option that lures and targets depletes the PP of (since Grudge is not a common move in general, it's probably good to explain what it does like this) threatening moves, namely Melmetal's Double Iron Bash, but its usefulness is very situational. Hypnosis is a similarly inconsistent option, but it can cripple an opposing wall or sweeper if it hits.
