[OVERVIEW]

The first thing that stands out about Noivern is its fantastic Speed tier; UU's congested Speed tiers have lots of threats between 331 and 361, and Noivern blazes past them with a blistering 379. Due to this, Noivern can gain momentum on the likes of Zarude, Cobalion, Azelf, Raikou, and Keldeo, a trait almost unique to it. Beyond that, Noivern's fantastic typing and great movepool give it great defensive utility and a powerful STAB Draco Meteor. With Flamethrower, Noivern has nearly unresisted coverage, which gives it an unparalleled ability to outspeed and bully offensive teams. Noivern's plentiful resistances and decent natural bulk let it check the likes of Azelf, Keldeo, Zarude, Skarmory, and Cobalion, giving it many opportunities to switch in. The main issue Noivern faces is competition with Crobat for a teamslot; Crobat's higher Speed gives it an edge one-on-one with Noivern, and it has the typing to better check Pokemon like Amoonguss and Conkeldurr that Noivern can struggle with. Still, Noivern's extra resistances to Water and Fire allow it to check the likes of Keldeo and Darmanitan, giving it the edge on a number of teams. Noivern also competes with Salamence to a lesser extent due to their shared typing; Salamence's bulk generally makes it better, as it can more reliably handle threats like Scizor and Cobalion, but some teams need Noivern's Speed tier. Another hindrance is Noivern's mediocre neutral power; it struggles to do lasting damage to Pokemon like Hippowdon, Slowking, Nihilego, and Mandibuzz without entry hazard support. Noivern is also entirely blanked by certain Fairy-types like Primarina and Togekiss.

[SET COMMENTS]
Draco Meteor is generally preferred as a STAB move to OHKO the likes of Hydreigon and Salamence, in addition to being Noivern's strongest revenge killing tool overall. Hurricane can be used to nab the OHKO on Keldeo for teams particularly weak to it. Hurricane also can break through naturally bulky Pokemon like Hippowdon and Moltres because it doesn't lower Special Attack, and it does better damage to Tangrowth, Amoonguss, Fairy-types, and Conkeldurr—OHKOing the latter—than Flamethrower. Flamethrower fries Steel-types like Scizor, Skarmory, Excadrill, and Cobalion; it also peppers Celesteela, Tangrowth, and Amoonguss for decent damage. U-turn lets Noivern pivot out of bad matchups against switch-ins like Nihilego, Chansey, and Slowking; when combined with chip damage from entry hazards, Noivern can rack up damage on them very quickly. Roost is necessary to continuously check Pokemon like Cobalion, Zarude, and Keldeo throughout a game. Equipping Noivern with Heavy-Duty Boots is necessary, since Stealth Rock would otherwise greatly hinder its role as a pivot.

Noivern's best teammates are entry hazard setters, which aid it in securing KOs against Pokemon like Hippowdon, Slowking, and Swampert. Skarmory is an excellent partner; not only does it lay Noivern's beloved Spikes, it also nicely checks the physical attackers Noivern can't deal with, like Swords Dance Excadrill, Diggersby, Mamoswine, and Scizor. Skarmory also appreciates Noivern's ability to switch into Pokemon like Azelf and Entei. Hippowdon can set up Stealth Rock very easily and checks Pokemon like Hatterene, Nihilego, and Lycanroc-D that give Noivern a hard time; in return, Noivern is a great pivot into Zarude, Keldeo, and Skarmory. VoltTurn users like Thundurus-T, Rotom-W, Raikou, and Azelf can easily weaken shared checks like Chansey, Hippowdon, and Nihilego. The former three can also check Primarina and Togekiss, two major roadblocks to Noivern, and all appreciate Noivern threatening Zarude, Tangrowth, and Hydreigon for them. Scizor threatens Fairy-types for Noivern while also removing items from Pokemon like Hippowdon and Moltres, making it tough for them to check Noivern in the long term. Vanilluxe can break through Hippowdon and Slowking for Noivern and greatly appreciates its U-turn providing entry points for it. Partners that can deal with Fairy-types are necessary; Hatterene, Togekiss, and Primarina are all major annoyances for Noivern, with the former in particular being a huge issue thanks to its Magic Bounce blanking Skarmory's Spikes; teammates such as Excadrill, Nidoqueen, Nihilego, and Galarian Slowbro can all be helpful here. These Pokemon also appreciate Noivern bringing them onto the field against the aforementioned Fairy-types via U-turn, as well as checking Zarude and Azelf for them.

=============

A Choice Specs set with Draco Meteor, Hurricane, Flamethrower, and Switcheroo can be very difficult to switch into, but it's pretty thoroughly outclassed by other wallbreakers like Choice Specs Hydreigon. Taunt is an option over U-turn that can make handling Noivern very difficult for teams that rely on Hippowdon and Slowking to beat it, though not having U-turn makes Noivern significantly easier to deal with for offensive teams. Also, it is forced to run Hurricane over Draco Meteor to assure that it can break through Slowking, even with Taunt. Defog Noivern can be used as a last resort, but it has a poor matchup against most Stealth Rock setters and struggles to fit the move to begin with.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy-types**: Primarina, Hatterene, and Togekiss all blank Noivern's most common moves entirely and can use it as setup fodder, but the former two must be wary of switching directly into Hurricane Noivern.

**Special Walls**: Hippowdon, Celesteela, and Chansey can all handle Noivern pretty well, though Noivern can outlast them in a long game due to entry hazard damage. Nihilego can check Noivern in the short term, with its great Special Defense letting it tank a couple of Draco Meteors, but without any way to recover its health, it isn't a hard counter. Heavy-Duty Boots Slowking is a hard stop to Noivern, although sets lacking Heavy-Duty Boots are prone to Spikes and U-turn wearing them down, even with Regenerator to offset it somewhat.

**Knock Off**: Noivern is extremely crippled by losing its item; Knock Off users like Tangrowth, Tentacruel, and Azelf can severely hamper it as a result. These Pokemon don't really like dealing with Noivern themselves, though.

**Priority Moves**: Noivern's Speed means nothing when faced with priority users that can threaten it. Lycanroc-D and Mamoswine can OHKO, and while +2 Attack Scizor lacking Life Orb cannot OHKO Noivern, it can do so very easily after minor chip damage.

- Noivern is at home on entry hazard-stacking teams, which can really wear down counters like Primarina and Chansey quickly, though it can fit well on other teams too. I feel this point would better fit on the first line of team options rather than overview

-add the Salamence point about how it is bulkier and stronger but noivern's speed lets it distinguish itself

[OVERVIEW]

- The first thing that stands out about Noivern is its fantastic Speed tier; UU is a metagame with lots of threats congested around Speed tiers between 346 339 and 361, and Noivern blazes past them with a blistering 379. This is extremely important as it allows Noivern to gain momentum on the likes of Zarude, Azelf, Raikou, and Keldeo, a trait almost unique to it. Zarude is 339 and important to include IMO (and you did include it anyways) so I changed your number to 339. Consider including Cobalion as it's about to be recognized in the S/S- ranks. Perhaps mention U-Turn by saying "...as [in conjunction with U-Turn] it allows Noivern to..." I just think U-Turn is an important part of Noivern which you don't mention in the overview
- Beyond that, it has a fantastic typing alongside a great movepool that gives it great defensive utility alongside a powerful STAB Draco Meteor. Complemented by Flamethrower, Noivern has nearly unresisted coverage that allows it to threaten a large portion of the offensive metagame. This combined with its aforementioned Speed tier gives it an unparalleled ability to bully offensive teams easily. I don't think dragon flying is fantastic but that's like an opinion i think the writer should have leeway on, just flagging in case you rethink it and don't think it's fantastic either, could be "very good" instead. I took out "defensive" because uturn is a major part of the utility and not particulary a defensive move.
- Its plentiful resistances and decent natural bulk let it check the likes of Azelf, Keldeo, Zarude, Iron Defense Skarmory, and Cobalion, giving it many opportunities to switch in. You counter all Skarmory tbh
- Noivern's mediocre neutral power can be a hindrance; it struggles to do lasting damage to Pokemon like Hippowdon, Slowking, Nihilego, and Mandibuzz without entry hazard support. It is also entirely blanked by certain Fairy-types like Primarina and Togekiss.
- Noivern faces competition with Crobat for a team slot. Crobat's better Speed tier gives it an edge in the one-on-one with Noivern, and its typing allows it to better check Pokemon like Amoonguss and Conkeldurr that Noivern can struggle with, but Noivern's extra resistances and coverage give it the edge on a number of teams. I'd specify the resistances to water and fire but I suppose that's a basic thing as well a reader should know already, you could also say that fire/water resistance is fairlyimportant in the metagame, that's more specialized knowledge this analysis could use. I'd mention why the coverage is good (flamethrower = not walled completely by celesteela for example) It also competes with Salamence to a lesser extent due to their shared typing; Salamence's bulk generally makes it the go-to choice for most teams, but teams in need of Noivern's Speed tier typically prefer it.

[SET COMMENTS]
Paragraph 1
- Draco Meteor is generally preferred as a STAB move to OHKO the likes of Hydreigon and Salamence, in addition to being Noivern's most powerful revenge killing tool overall. I don't think you should do this but flagging for your consideration: mention draco's spa drop is bad but often neutralized by how often you can uturn out anyways. Idt you should mention because the hydreigon analysis doesn't talk about the spa drop even though it's more important for hydrei since it's choiced, but your choice
- Hurricane can be used on teams particularly weak to Keldeo since it nabs on OHKO on it. Hurricane also has the benefit of better breaking through naturally bulky Pokemon like Hippowdon and Moltres. Should you mention Conkeldurr too as something you OHKO? How it's better for grasses? Mention bad accuracy which is especially bad because you can't usually run another STAB move? Mention how it means you're no longer pure bait for Prim and Azu (or just fairies?) Just flagging all of these as reasonable edits, personally I'd mention all of them except the grass thing because you beat grasses anyways.
- Flamethrower fries Steel-types like Scizor, Skarmory, Excadrill, and Cobalion; it also peppers Celesteela, Tangrowth, and Amoonguss for decent damage.
- U-turn lets Noivern pivot out of bad matchups against switch-ins like Nihilego and Slowking; when combined with chip from entry hazards, Noivern can rack up damage on them very quickly. maybe mention chansey over slowking since slowking actually takes no net damage from uturn+1 spike OR SR with regen/common hdb. however, i get your point, HDB isn't mandatory on slowking (i think colbur more common) and even though it takes no net even with SR, if it has to stay in the next turn and teleport, that's when the chip might add up.
- Roost is necessary to allow Noivern to continuously check Pokemon like Cobalion, Zarude, and Keldeo throughout a game.
- Equipping Noivern with Heavy-Duty Boots is necessary to avoid Stealth Rock damage, which would otherwise greatly hinder its role as a pivot.

Paragraph 2
- Noivern's best teammates are those that can set up entry hazards to aid it in securing KOs against Pokemon like Hippowdon, Slowking, and Swampert.
- Skarmory is an excellent partner; not only does it lay Noivern's beloved Spikes, it's also a good check to the physical attackers Noivern can't deal with like Excadrill, Diggersby, Mamoswine, and Azumarill. Not sure if you have to include exca as noivern can deal with it. It also appreciates Noivern's ability to switch into Pokemon like Azelf, Entei, and Zarude; the latter can be a major annoyance for Skarmory if Stealth Rock is up as it is prone to getting worn down quickly by U-turn and entry hazard damage. I don't particularly think Zarude is a useful mention here, Skarm already beats it IMO and Rocky Helmet can pester Zarude as much as SR/Uturn pesters Skarm anyways. It's weird to put Zarude next to Entei when talking about how threatening they are to Skarm, clearly Entei is far bigger.
- Hippowdon can set up Stealth Rock very easily and checks Pokemon like Hatterene, Nihilego and Lycanroc-D that give Noivern a hard time; in return, Noivern acts as a great pivot into Zarude, Keldeo, and Skarmory.
- VoltTurn partners like Thundurus-T, Rotom-W, Raikou, and Azelf can easily weaken shared checks like Chansey, Hippowdon, and Nihilego. The former three can also threaten dumpster Primarina and Togekiss, two major roadblocks to Noivern, and they appreciate Noivern being able to threaten Zarude, Tangrowth, and Hydreigon for them. Scizor is also a great partner that can smash Fairy-types for Noivern while also removing items from Pokemon like Hippowdon and Moltres, making it tough for them to check Noivern long-term. So i wouldn't say any of the electrics dumpster on Primarina since Prim can beat them all with a single CM and specs 1v1s Thundy for example. They do kind of dumpster on Togekiss (although toge can still roost off volts so idk even about that) so you can also change this sentence ot solely focus on Togekiss if you want to keep the word dumpster. "Threaten" isn't perfect here either btw, as Azelf technically threatens them both too, so you can change "The former three" to "They" if you want. you can also mention rotom w and scizor check mamoswine well which troubles noivern.

Not sure how well Scizor smashes our fairies: prim, azu, hatt and bulu are our fairies, bulu is not a huge issue for noivern anyways, the other three can potentially beat Scizor 1v1 so idk. Toge also beats us 1v1 often. Maybe reword so you talk about it resisting fairy?

- Partners that can deal with Fairy-types are necessary; Hatterene, Togekiss, and Primarina are all major annoyances for Noivern, with the former in particular being a huge issue thanks to its ability to blank Skarmory's Spikes with Magic Bounce. Teammates such as Excadrill, Nidoqueen, Nihilego, and Galarian Slowbro can all be hugely helpful here. These Pokemon also appreciate Noivern's support in bringing them onto the field against the aforementioned Fairy-types via U-turn, and it checking Zarude and Azelf for them.

Taunt is an option over U-turn that can make handling Noivern very difficult for teams that rely on Hippowdon and Slowking to beat it. Mention a drawback of no Uturn here imo. Defog can be used as a last resort, but Noivern has a poor matchup into most Stealth Rock setters and struggles to fit the move to begin with.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy-types**: Primarina, Hatterene, and Togekiss all blank Noivern's most common moves entirely and can use it as setup fodder. You use blank so much kek I googled it and apparently it's an informal North American word...why would you use it then!? Just a comment, nothing to change lol

**Special Walls**: Hippowdon, Celesteela, and Chansey can all handle Noivern pretty well, though they can be outlasted in a long game due to entry hazard damage. Nihilego can check Noivern for some time as it doesn't mind taking Draco Meteor much, but without any way to recover its health, it isn't a hard counter.

**Knock Off**: Noivern is extremely crippled by losing its item; Knock Off users like Tangrowth, Tentacruel, and Azelf can severely hamper it as a result. Maybe mention that they still struggle vs Noivern in general (one of the selling points of noivern as you say is to generate momentum vs Azelf and it obviously beats tang). Also maybe mention why it is crippled (cannot freely U-Turn anymore if the Noivern user cannot keep SR off).

**Priority Users**: Noivern's Speed means nothing when faced with priority users that can threaten it. Lycanroc-D and Mamoswine can OHKO it from full HP, and while most Scizor cannot OHKO Noivern even at +2 Attack, it can do so very easily after minor chip damage. HO scizor does ohko at +2 and it is slated to be a standard set I believe. You can also rename this bullet point to faster Pokemon if you want, as we have a couple relevant scarfers that revenge it decently well. but you don't have to imo because crobat is kind of bad at checking noivern imo since it takes so much from draco and that's (basically?) the only mon naturally faster in the tier

I’d also consider to add Slowking to checks and counters in special walls actually especially as it can run boots to counteract the spikes noivern often is supported by

Another minor point I thought of while playing this game: I really don't think Frisk is worse than Infiltrator, tbh I think it's usually better and would suggest asking QC about it

[OVERVIEW]

The first thing that stands out about Noivern is its fantastic Speed tier; UU is a metagame with lots of threats congested around Speed tiers between 331 and 361, and Noivern blazes past them with a blistering 379. This is extremely important as it allows Noivern to gain momentum on the likes of Zarude, Cobalion, Azelf, Raikou, and Keldeo, a trait almost unique to it. Beyond that, it has a fantastic typing alongside a great movepool that gives it great defensive utility alongside a powerful STAB Draco Meteor. Complemented by Flamethrower, Noivern has nearly unresisted coverage that allows it to threaten a large portion of the offensive metagame. This combined with its aforementioned Speed tier gives it an unparalleled ability to bully offensive teams easily. Its plentiful resistances and decent natural bulk let it check the likes of Azelf, Keldeo, Zarude, Skarmory,and Cobalion, giving it many opportunities to switch in. Noivern's mediocre neutral power can be a hindrance; it struggles to do lasting damage to Pokemon like Hippowdon, Slowking, Nihilego, and Mandibuzz without entry hazard support. It is also entirely blanked by certain Fairy-types like Primarina and Togekiss. The main issue Noivern faces is competition with Crobat for a team slot. Crobat's better Speed tier gives it an edge in the one-on-one with Noivern, and its typing allows it to better check Pokemon like Amoonguss and Conkeldurr that Noivern can struggle with, but Noivern's extra resistances to Water and Fire allow it to check the likes of Keldeo and Darmanitan. This alongside its better coverage gives it the edge on a number of teams. It also competes with Salamence to a lesser extent due to their shared typing; Salamence's bulk generally makes it the go-to choice for most teams, but teams in need of Noivern's Speed tier typically prefer it. can mention how the bulk makes it much more reliable into a few things like sciz/coba.

[SET COMMENTS]
Draco Meteor is generally preferred as a STAB move to OHKO the likes of Hydreigon and Salamence, in addition to being Noivern's most powerful revenge killing tool overall. Hurricane can be used on teams particularly weak to Keldeo since it nabs on OHKO on it. Hurricane also has the benefit of better breaking through naturally bulky Pokemon like Hippowdon and Moltres and does better damage to Tangrowth, Amoonguss, and Fairy-types than Flamethrower does. It also OHKOes Conkeldurr. Flamethrower fries Steel-types like Scizor, Skarmory, Excadrill, and Cobalion; it also peppers Celesteela, Tangrowth, and Amoonguss for decent damage. U-turn lets Noivern pivot out of bad matchups against switch-ins like Nihilego, Chansey, and Slowking; when combined with chip from entry hazards, Noivern can rack up damage on them very quickly. Roost is necessary to allow Noivern to continuously check Pokemon like Cobalion, Zarude, and Keldeo throughout a game. Equipping Noivern with Heavy-Duty Boots is necessary to avoid Stealth Rock damage, which would otherwise greatly hinder its role as a pivot.

Noivern's best teammates are those that can set up entry hazards to aid it in securing KOs against Pokemon like Hippowdon, Slowking, and Swampert. Skarmory is an excellent partner; not only does it lay Noivern's beloved Spikes, it's also a good check to the physical attackers Noivern can't deal with like Swords Dance Excadrill, Diggersby, Mamoswine, and Azumarill. perhaps sciz over one of these considering noivern is incredibly shakey vs it compared to mence It also appreciates Noivern's ability to switch into Pokemon like Azelf and Entei. Hippowdon can set up Stealth Rock very easily and checks Pokemon like Hatterene, Nihilego and Lycanroc-D that give Noivern a hard time; in return, Noivern acts as a great pivot into Zarude, Keldeo, and Skarmory. VoltTurn partners like Thundurus-T, Rotom-W, Raikou, and Azelf can easily weaken shared checks like Chansey, Hippowdon, and Nihilego. The former three can also check Primarina and Togekiss, two major roadblocks to Noivern, and they appreciate Noivern being able to threaten Zarude, Tangrowth, and Hydreigon for them. Scizor is also a great partner that threaten Fairy-types for Noivern while also removing items from Pokemon like Hippowdon and Moltres, making it tough for them to check Noivern long-term. Partners that can deal with Fairy-types are necessary; Hatterene, Togekiss, and Primarina are all major annoyances for Noivern, with the former in particular being a huge issue thanks to its ability to blank Skarmory's Spikes with Magic Bounce. Teammates such as Excadrill, Nidoqueen, Nihilego, and Galarian Slowbro can all be hugely helpful here. These Pokemon also appreciate Noivern's support in bringing them onto the field against the aforementioned Fairy-types via U-turn, and it checking Zarude and Azelf for them. could perhaps do with a few mentions of mons that can break hippo/slowking directly while appreciating the pivot support, like god vanilluxe, on top of just the mentions of things that overwhelm

A Choice Specs set with Draco Meteor, Hurricane, Flamethrower and Switcheroo can be very difficult to switch into, but it's pretty harshly outclassed by other wallbreakers like Choice Specs Hydreigon. Taunt is an option over U-turn that can make handling Noivern very difficult for teams that rely on Hippowdon and Slowking to beat it, though not having U-turn makes Noivern significantly easier to deal with for offensive teams. honestly not even sure how hard this really makes it for slowking teams either unless you're hurricane (which you might wanna specify in that situation as its backslash) considering flamethrower does absolutely zero and draco's make other tihngs able to pivot while just using regen. Defog can be used as a last resort, but Noivern has a poor matchup into most Stealth Rock setters and struggles to fit the move to begin with.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy-types**: Primarina, Hatterene, and Togekiss all blank Noivern's most common moves entirely and can use it as setup fodder. probably mention something about how less bulky prims and cm hatt both have to be careful about just hard switching into hurricane though.

Heavy-Duty Boots Slowking is also a hard stop to Noivern, although sets lacking Heavy-Duty Boots are prone to getting worn down by Spikes and U-turn chip, even with Regenerator to offset it somewhat.

**Knock Off**: Noivern is extremely crippled by losing its item; Knock Off users like Tangrowth, Tentacruel, and Azelf can severely hamper it as a result. These Pokemon don't really like dealing with Noivern themselves, though.

**Priority Users**: Noivern's Speed means nothing when faced with priority users that can threaten it. Lycanroc-D and Mamoswine can OHKO it from full HP, and while Scizor lacking Life Orb cannot OHKO Noivern even at +2 Attack, it can do so very easily after minor chip damage.
