Pet Mod Not My Type

Astermind (Asteroid/Astral + Mastermind)
Steel/Psychic
Sand Stream // Filter
Same weight as Metagross, roughly
59/70/113/60/126/30 (458)
[Stab, Niche/Unviable. Assume universals unless stated otherwise]

Physical: Gyro Ball, Iron Head, Heavy Slam, Zen Headbutt, Psycho Cut, Knock Off, Explosion
(Hard Press, Metal Claw, Headbutt, Take Down, Double Edge, Body Slam)

Special: Flash Cannon, Psychic, Psyshock, Future Sight, Grass Knot, Signal Beam, Icy Wind, Clear Smog
(Psywave, Confusion, Tri Attack, Twister)

Status: Healing Wish, Roar, Taunt, Trick, Encore, Haze, Toxic Spikes
(Sunny Day, Heal Pulse, Scary Face, Screech, Metal Sound, Memento, Imprison)
Flavor: it’s said that Astermind came from chunks of iron that split off from what we now call the moon, when it first impacted the earth.
Regardless of the truth of this claim, Astermind show great connection to celestial bodies, and are paramount to asteroid control in the modern day
Comp Role: Bulky Support + Team “glue”
Astermind uses its really high bulk and sand stream to sit on opponents while they whittle away, or filter to be an absolute wall and sponge hits for its teammates. It uses it’s wide utility movepool to slow them down, halt their sweeping attempts, and otherwise just support the rest of the team. can also act as a lead with tspikes and future sight, or a phaser with roar.

*sigh* Seeing Areclutta get rejected like that makes me wish this Pet Mod had a veto period....
Fwiw I normally do have a veto period for mods I run and this was no exception, but I haven't had anything I've wanted to veto past the first slate, where my one would-be veto got changed following some Discord talk. If the discussions are anything to go by then your sub didn't pass because it was more annoying-looking than outright veto-worthy which I don't disagree with. But I also really don't have a way of anticipating what others' opinions on each mon is and it wouldn't be fair for me to put words in their mouth. Would start to become a bit Solomod-y if I were to be that controlling over others' subs anyways.

The concept of Schrapeller last slate was neat, but with a few elements that seemed a bit too scary for this meta. This sub is a similar concept but with less of those aspects that could make it capable of running over the entire meta.
Only thing that got me a little concerned here was Toxic Debris, but with the prominence of Poisons in this meta, it shouldn't be an issue I think? Otherwise this is a fine sub
I don't have much to comment on this sub, but I think it should be a fine addition.
Speed cap is really low rn, this lifts it up & makes for a solid disruptor overall.
This probably always prefers filter, unless we get sand rush in the future. Having something like this that can reliably eat some hits is always nice, although I do wonder if its arsenal has enough to actually threaten back.

Flying/Dark my beloved. Sharpness air slash is a very interesting idea, too, and although 111 with a flinch move is a bit scary, it has similar stats to talonflame, so i think it should be fine.
Toxic Debris on a poison/flying is Really cool. Despite the similar stats to Scabbird, i dont think they’ll fill similar roles at all, so i see no reason not to say yes to both
Baller. Right now i feel like you’d prefer Reckless over Swift Swim, since we dont really have rain setters atm, but if a drizzle or prankster mon gets added 40 base speed still doesnt seem too overbearing.
Technician Flip Turn? 124 Speed? Sounds horrifying? Thank god you had common sense and gave it 45 attack.
A Special-attacker with technician is really cool and water/dark is a really cool type to abuse this.
I think i cooked with sand stream. With most hazards and grounds/rocks out of the picture, focus sash seems really scary, so having some extra counterplay against sash HO sets seems really nice. I will admit that filter is preferable 9 times out of 10 though
