Porcupine Tree - Lips of Ashes

This is a song that I don't listen to often enough, every time it comes up randomly in iTunes I get excited.

Okay everyone, we're going to shake things up in this thread. From now on, posting just the "Band - Song" format isn't going to cut it. This thread, while useful for reading what other people listen to, needs some more substance to it. So from now on, when you post what you're listening to, write a quick blurb about the song, then give it a rating out of 10. Such as this:

Menomena - Pelican

I'm really disappointed that they took down all of the album from the stream site except for 5 songs, but 2 of the ones left are my favorites, and the other 3 (including this one) are solid. So I can till get my Menomena fix at work!

7.5/10

Modest Mouse - Teeth Like God's Shoeshine

Unbelievably kickass song. I love how Modest Mouse (more particularly their old stuff) can make such not melodic songs and make them so appealing in an almost melodic way. It's hard to describe, but damn this song is classic.

10/10

Stratovarius - Destiny

This is the first time I give this a proper listen, but it's just your average melodic power metal song with guitar solos at 300 notes per second and keyboard wizardry.

6/10

Led Zeppelin - Achilles Last Stand

This has been my favourite Zeppelin song almost since I got the album. Not to mention the guitar solo is probably one of Page's best but of course, not forgetting Bonham's incredible drumming which pretty much makes this song what it is.

I am so infleuntal when it comes to music

Audio Karate - Gypsy Queen

this is my favorite song, from my favorite band. It has been since the 5th grade. Audio Karate is a great band, but they have a shitty record company, which is there main set-back. anyways, this song rocks, I recommend searching it up on google/limewire and listening to it asap.

10/10!

Hrsta - Une Infinite De Trous En Forme D'Hommes

I am deeply in love with this track. It starts with a guitar and a violin. As the song plays drums are added and towards the end it all climaxes with the whole band chanting in unison. Quite simple really but the unison singing is a great touch.

np: some song on lotr - fellowship soundtrack

this soundtrack is just unbelievably amazing! if you have not given it a proper listen you should do so, it's beautiful
