This song really just relaxes me, I listen to this a lot when writing a paper or something, just allows me to write without really thinking about anything else.
 
Oasis - I'm Out of Time

Just listened to the new album a couple of times, and this is a clear highlight. Yes, it is an obvious Lennon copy and paste job, but that doesn't stop it from being amazing; it's right up there with early classics imo. However, only Shock of the Lightning and Falling Down are memorable from the other tracks.
 
Weezer - Say It Ain't So

I really don't know why, but for some reason - out of all of may favourite songs that I've nigh-on played to death - this one just never gets old.
 
Ulrich Schnauss - As If You've Never Been Away

Needed something else to listen to lately, and Shoegazer was a genre I really wanted to explore more I guess. This song is pretty cool, I like the build up to the vocals around 2:31. Well it's not singing, but it's a voice adding to the song as an instument.
 
well, I guess I should be ground breaking and review my past few songs instead of just one.

instead of going on my usual shuffle of albums, I shuffled songs, and got-

Tortoise- Everglade
Ra Ra Riot- A Manner to Act
The National- Slow Show
Beirut- Mount Wroclai (Idle Days)

Call me pretentious, I could care less.
Everglade starts off with a cool ambient atmosphere, kinda like Treefingers. For the first minute, nothing is happening, when suddenly you can make out these jazzy drums in the back round. Then kicks in a killer bass line and the effects fade out. The guitar riff comes in ever so gently; you don't even notice it. There's a "bridge" of sorts, when the bass drives and an extra noodling guitar comes in. The song eases a little, with both guitars going low and having the synth go solo. It's over before you know it, and you wonder how those four and a half minutes went by so quickly. 8.5/10

A Manner to Act- I came across Ra Ra Riot through the Rolling Stone lol. I'm not sure why I even read it, but I found the "best new artists" section. I saw ra ra riot listed as indie pop with the members being orchestrally trained. I went out and bought the EP for the heck of it (there is a kickass music store next to where I live). Surprisingly, it seems that Rolling Stone was right for once. I enjoyed these "quickes", 2 minute to 3 minute songs. It reminded me of Tokyo Police Club mixed with Vampire Weekend (not that I recommend either). 7/10

Slow Show- This song just blows me away. With each listen I hear something new, and every time I get the chills. You know, when the hair on your spine stands out and a rush of cool blood floods your veins. It's an incredible song with incredible lyrics. The National's best song imo, they hit an emotional high right here. The driving drums, the mournful mumbles, the melancholy of the piano, it mixes to form the best song I've heard in a while. 9.5/10

Mount Wroclai (Idle Days)- Being the kid of two Balkan parents, Balkan folk/gypsy/whatever music hits a note with me. I can see myself walking the streets of Sarajevo with this playing in the background. I see the pebbled streets, I see the gypsy kid playing on his accordion, and I can see the band of old war veterans playing music together on the corner. Great song, you guys should probably check Beirut out. Pretty awesome band, if I do say so myself. 7.5/10
