...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead - Intelligence

Very original track from 'Trail of Dead'. First time I listened to this it took me by surprise, the 65dosesque kind of sound was a big plus for this song. Definatly one of my faves from this band.

8.5/10

Enigma - Why! ...

The male vocals are a nice change, since lately all I've been listening were songs with female vocals on Enigma. The echoing sound improves this song a lot, the lyrics are, as always, beautiful, along with an awesome instrumental, the chorus is the best part of the song, still keeping the echoing throughout the entire song.

"How it was and it'll always be
Why it has to be like this
Why we don't realize
Why we're too blind to see the one
Who's always on our side
"

This song gets a definite 10/10, if you're into bands like Enigma, I recommend this song.

Mr Pitiful - Rollin Like the El Train

This up-and-coming blues musician gained attention through posting home-made videos of himself playing on youtube and myspace, and has recently been signed to an independant label and will be producing his first album soon, which I will be looking forward to as he's really got talent. Here is his Youtube video selection if you are interested.

It took me a while to look at the bright sides of this track, but I still think it's very inferior to Beyond the Invisible and Prism of Life which has an excelent chorus with gregorian-ish chants.

Millencolin - Stalemate

I worshiped these guys back at junior high. They are still the most kickass skate punk band there is and Stalemate is a cool combination of almost all of their good sides. The song has a melancholy feeling to it, tells quite accurately the feelings when a relationship just doesn't get any progress and I absolutely love the guitars in this song.

If you like punk, Swedish bands or anything from between, I'd seriously recommend at least trying out Millencolin.

I've tried those and enjoyed them, seems like Enigma doesn't really disappoint, from the vast tracks I've heard. It's really awesome to create a certain mood, and it has that "continuous" factor (call it whatever you want) where you don't know when a song ends and the other one starts. The chorus parts seem to be the strong suit of Enigma, Prism Of Life is one of the many songs that proves this.

Enigma - The Roundabout

This song starts out with somewhat "blurred out" lyrics, almost impossible to understand, with a great rhythm, still!
Unlike the song Pax mentioned, the lyrics aren't sang in any language, but they're definitely the best part of the song.

9.6/10. Doesn't quite make it to 10, but then again Why...! shouldn't either, but it's still amazing.

Kill Rock N Roll - System of a Down

8.5/10

A brilliant piece of music by SOAD. The song is about how Daron ran over a bunny (hence the lyrics So I felt like the biggest asshole and Eat all the grass that you want, Accidents happen in the dark). I like the message, and the guitar is great too. My only problem is that Daron had to sing it...he has a terrible voice for lead vocals.

Flight of the Conchords - Bus Driver's Song

this shit is so funny. I saw this band on comedy central last night and listened to a few of their songs. Its just basically a story in a song. I LOVE IT ^__________________^

Kamelot - Abandoned

This song is a power metal ballad in essence, but it's so much more qualitatively. Khan's vocal tour de force is amazing, the duet with Mari Youngblood is awesome, and the way he hits those high and low notes in the same song... I bow down to my speakers every time. I've been playing The Black Halo non-stop since I got it. This is one of my favourites.

10/10

Enigma - The Dream Of The Dolphin

This song is beautiful, unfortunately too short (2:45). It's only got lyrics half-way through it, the best part are the beginning and the ending, where the piano is the most emphasized instrument. At the end there's an instrument that I don't know what it is, probably a woodwind flute, but it's a definite improvement on the song.

Cursive- Break In The New Year

Trying out new bands and Cursive hit my eyes when I was browsing through last.fm. Definitely music I could get into after a while of listening to them, but they didn't grasp my attention too well.

This song isn't too special either, I liked The Recluse and Absence Makes The Day Grow Longer a lot more.

7/10

The Beatles - Come Together

A nice and mellow song. The lyrics make no sense at all, but it's still a good song.

8.5/10

Defiance, Ohio - The List

their new album is great and i really like this song. the vocals are awesome and the cello really stands out. i can't really give a good description to this song since it's the first time i listened to it, but i really like it.

Bad Religion - Infected

Definitely a cool song from them. The track's length is surprisingly long for a punk rock song, which makes the song even easier to relate to. For me, the 2-minute speedy tracks aren't long enough to get a good grip from the melody and lyrics.

By listening to Infected, you get the melancholy feeling that almost every slower bad Religion song gives you. The lyrics are outstanding, yet quite simple for this band. Infected is among the first songs you might want to listen to from them if you want to get into Bad Religion.

8.5/10

Silversun Pickups - Common Reactor

Great find, these guys are recent, and their album "Carnavas" is very good.
Common Reactor is a great song, it doesn't abuse the guitar, instead it starts off with a neat drum rhythm, the vocalist has a lovely voice, what you'd expect to see mostly noticed, the bass, isn't too noticed on this song, because usually when the song starts off with drums, you'll want to hear bass, at least it's how it is with me, but it's still there. The lyrics are my favorite part of this song.

9/10

Da Dopeman-T.I. The first 45 seconds of it is all I can really get used to, after that it's really all twisted imo.

Man, it's 2:30 in the motherfucking morning, what the fuck are you doing out here?!

Dream Theater - A Change of Seasons

One of the best songs by Dream Theater. Pretty much one of my favorite songs of all time now. As I heard from someone else before, commenting on this song, "23 minutes of progressive metal bliss."

10/10

The Offspring - The Worst Hangover Ever

Describes my current feelings perfectly. And fuck I have to work today and I feel like shit. Not to mention that I promised to see my girlfriend tonight. I hate hangovers but the song pretty much suits this so well, so it's become a habit to listen it after every drunken night.
