By the way, Trax, you are grossly misinformed. Varg Vikernes is actually Norwegian.

You know, I'm really not sure how I ended up typing Danish, must have been one of those things where you think of something else, I'd actually meant to type Norwegian to go nicely with my negative stereotype of that type of music.

Sorry for snapping at you but folks who come off as considering BM to be the only real form of metal piss me off.

At any rate: Necrophagist - Only Ash Remains.

Cursive - Driftwood: A Fairy Tale

really like this song and the album it's on (The Ugly Organ). the singer sounds sort of like a cross between Billy Corgan, the guy from the Offspring, and someone else I can't think of. the singing is layered with throaty whispering to sound almost like a monster telling the story. the ever-present cello is really pretty, and there's a good groove to lay out the paralleling of Pinocchio and a doomed relationship.

I need a new taste. I have to stop listening to the same songs over, over and over again just because they have a catchy part to them.

Eminem - Toy Soldiers

While I don't compare it at all to the original Toy Soldiers by Martika, I would say this is a top 3 of his best ever. Even though it's not one of his famous free-styles or that it's not even one of his own, it made the Encore album worth listening to, it had a great chrous that went so well with his verses. Here's the song for some of you who haven't heard it before.

M.I.A ~ World Town

Dah-yum. This is such a fucking good song, I love M.I.A. This song makes me so much more energized!

Hands up, guns out! Represent the world town!

10/10

Millencolin - Greener Grass

Picked up my favorite punk band from years ago. I used to like worship these guys a four or five years back in time. They're still my favorite Swedish band nonetheless.

Altmer listening to Hum what!

np - Basshunter - Now You're Gone

Addictive catchy mainstream song that I now can't get out of my head.

Drowning - CrazyTown

Great song from an average Nu Metal/Rap-rock band. Dug up their CD darkhorse yesterday and ripped it, pretty awesome song. Be warned though that this song is relatively Linkin Parky so if you detest them then I'd avoid :/

EDIT: Actually I linked that without watching the actual video and I'd recommend just leaving it on whilst you do something else because they look like douchebags

Meccamputechture and Tetragrammaton - The Mars Volta

It still surprised me when my friend told me that Meccamputechture's chorus is Tetra's backwards.

Katatonia - We Must Bury You

Last Fair Deal Gone Down has rapidly become one of my favourite albums lately. Renske's vocals have that unique quality, turning any melody into sincere and heartfelt depression with every note uttered. The best thing it doesn't bog down into long tracks that don't go anywhere or uses the inappropriate grunts; it's concise, awesome, and every chorus seems to hit a magic note for me. I love almost every Katatonia album (except perhaps the debut) but this is one of the best. One of the very best albums I have ever heard.
