DRAGALGE HYPE

Finally a FE Dragon not named Alterible Altaria enters NU, and it looks pretty good. With great 65/90/123 Defenses and several common resistances, such as fighting, electric, fire, bug, etc., this thing looks like a defensive behemoth. It has a great offensive AND defensive movepool, this thing could be a force to be reckoned with.

Not to mention Tspikes

Liligant got hurt badly by the nerfs and Virizion didn't like Tornadus in RU. And who messed up anyway?
Yeah, the nerfs hurt, but all three of the dancers seem like they're gonna be op unless you get scarfphlosion in on turn one or something.

I'm all for the dragalge hype though

I really like Altaria, but Dragalge gives it some competition. Altaria in my eyes is a much better wall. Roost is the reason. With Roost, it can always switch in on threats like Magmortar and Virizon and Samurott and slowly whitle their HP down with Dragon Pulse.

Dragalge is interesting. If you look at movepools, it's great. I would leave defensive role to Altaria. Roselia and Qwilfish gives it some competition as a TSpiker, but it's still solid.

Having trouble with any of the following Pokémon?
Virizion, Sigilyph, Magmortar, Typhlosion, Pyroar, Durant, Steelix, Xatu, Sawk, Scyther and like half the tier?
Let me present our saviour.

Archeops
Ability: Defeatist
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Acrobatics
- Rock Slide
- Heat Wave
- U-turn

It beats all of those unless they are scarfed, the last slot is customizable, you can do Roost, U-Turn, SR, Defog, Earthquake etc, whatever floats your boat. Stone Edge is an alternative to Rock Slide, but missing sucks and pretty much the only thing you miss out on is full hp invested Armaldo which gets KO'd after rocks most of the time anyway. 110 is an amazing speed tier and this prehistoric mofo is a huge threat.

Speaking of Archeops, here's an idea I came up with (although someone else probably already came up with it before hand). It's Head Smash + Sitrus Archeops.

Archeops @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Defeatist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Head Smash
- Acrobatics
- U-turn / Earthquake
- Stone Edge / Earthquake

The idea is simple - Sitrus heals you up, usually after you fire off a powerful Head Smash. After that you have access to STAB Acrobatics to spam. Not only that, but Head Smash is a great move to spam after you enter Defeatist, as it does reasonable damage. It also kills you off faster at half health, which isn't too bad since your kind of useless after defeatist. U-Turn is for momentum and Stone Edge is rock STAB that doesn't kill you. EQ is a choice over either of these two, as Flying+Ground has great coverage. Jolly is important to outspeed nonscarf Virizion and Durant and smack them hard with Acrobatics (or Head Smash on Durant).

I thought Radioactive would be a shitty vocaloid song, thank god it isn't. listening to it rn.

edit: oh I know this song, nb but also not my style. still like it though

For some reason I thought Quick Feet only activated when you're poisoned (probably because burn is detrimental to Ursaring). I see how this works now. I think Guts Rest/Talk might be better, though.

130 Attack with a 140 STAB move is pretty nice. 55 base Speed is not. Maybe some calcs would determine when Guts is better.

Let's not discuss bans in here for the time being. Bans are still some time away, and the meta has barely even been played.

Well, I wouldn't say it's horrible, Adamant 252 outspeeds base 93 and above, while Jolly 252 it outspeeds base 106, and while that isn't horrible, it isn't great either. I'd prefer Guts with Sticky Web, support, as you get the same benefits of Quick Feet with the benefit of Guts in return. On the other hand, Swords Dance Guts Ursaring will be a threat on Sticky Web / Trick Room teams, as it OHKOes 252 / 252+ Alomomola with Facade, that's huge. It is at +3 after a Swords Dance and Guts, backed by a monstrous 230 base power move. Ursaring is certainly a very powerful Pokemon, it just lacks bulk and Speed, but it is certainly very powerful!
