I actually think togetic will be really good lol, it gets NastyPass, and has the bulk to pull of a pass, and will probably be the best defogger tbh. i think assault vest escav is fantastic too, it'll be one of the best mons in the tier..... again. But I gotta say, the most broken mon there for me is Shaymin. specs seed flares and its amazing bulk, it's gotta go, right?

Threats Imo: AV Gallade: Holy shit that thing's a monster, used it in UU and worked really well. Will rek.
Reuniclus: Sad to see this thing drop fro OU to RU, but Calm Mind+Psyshock will destroy your face.
Tornadus: Rain Dance and Hurricane spam, nuff said.
Sableye: Priority moves
Yanmega:Fast, gets CompoundEyes, and can hurt, always have rocks.

Ambipom is now RU so i can finally use a predictable fake out in a lower tier!

On a serious note i really wanna try out calm mind Reuniclus is RU because it just wrecks.

Xatu, Gligar, and Golbat seem like they could be the most viable defoggers in the tier.. but I'm not sure about Xatu.

It gets tinted lens and speed boost not compoundeyes. Yanma gets compoundeyes though.

In all honesty, kyurem is gonna be banned before we realize that it is RU. Some of the drops that seem interesting are :

Azelf This thing has very high speed, high attacking stats and superb coverage. It can go special or physical or even mixed and can also boost with nasty plot. I am afraid that it could be too much for the tier.

Cobalion With its good bulk it can easiely nab a sword's dance boost and sweep with close combat and its high speed. Fairies are not problems for him due to stab iron head. It can also act as a good pivot with volt switch. Assault vest anyone?
You can't get a swords dance up with an Assault Vest.

Sableye: This gem has always been a little tricky to get past. It was used a bunch last gen, but I'm assuming fell a little more this gen with the introduction of fairies. This is the set probably going to be used most:

Reuniclus: Wasn't this OU last gen? Anyways, Magic Guard + Life Orb = Hell. Not to mention its awesome bulk. I see this thing being used a bunch.

Haxorus: I'm sure DDance and Outrage makes it the Dragonite of RU. Fairies can be its problem, however.

Gallade: With the introduction of AV, its 110 SpDef won't go unnoticed. Just some calcs for an AV set:

252+ SpA Mega Abomasnow Blizzard vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Assault Vest Gallade: 118-141 (42.5 - 50.9%) -- 46.9% chance to 2HKO after hail damage

252 SpA Mega Charizard Y Fire Blast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Assault Vest Gallade in Sun: 186-220 (67.1 - 79.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252 SpA Life Orb Starmie Surf vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Assault Vest Gallade: 95-113 (34.2 - 40.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

252 SpA Keldeo Hydro Pump vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Assault Vest Gallade: 106-126 (38.2 - 45.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

252 SpA Hydreigon Draco Meteor vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Assault Vest Gallade: 123-145 (44.4 - 52.3%) -- 21.5% chance to 2HKO

Somehow missed Mega Abomasnow the first time... Is that thing really here with Kyurem and all of the reliable TR setters and sweepers? M-Abomasnow + Kyurem is a beastly offensive Hail core. Kyurem gets to use 100% accurate Blizzards, as if it needed a more powerful move to use.

Also, quite a few AV users that seem to be viable. Gallade, Escavalier, Rhyperior, Raikou, and Druddigon to just name a few.

I know offensive Trick Room has been mentioned but it is very likely that balanced Trick Room will be viable. There are Trick Room setters like Cresselia, Cofagrigus, and Bronzong which will make a more balanced dedicated team than just it being a set. There is every chance that Trick Room Malamar will be nothing more than a bad gimick but Contrary Superpower could be very threatening.

just thought i'd mention that from what i've played of XY RU so far (in challenges based of feb 1760 stats) gligar didnt seem to be particularly good. im always a fan of xatu, though. like i mentioned i think togetic will be the best defogger lol

venomoth tho.

Hail meta 2.0: Mega Abomasnow / Cobalion / Jellicent / Escavalier / Cresselia / Kyurem

Offense in general looks super frightening since you have big hitters like Raikou / Azelf / Gallade / Toxicroak / Sharpedo / Reuniclus / Yanmega

I swear every time I see a Gligar or Hitmontop on ladder I'm going to troutslap Molk

What about Defog Moltres? It's 4x SR weak, which sucks, but it's immune to Spikes and blasts through Hail and with Fire STAB and it's still pretty damn powerful. I can't think of any reason it wouldn't be as effective now as it was in BW RU.

Molk , you should prolly add to the OP either a link to everything banned in UU (you can use this for that purpose or just manually add it).

Anyway with the last changes, Smeargle offense seems like it'll be really deadly, be it Spikestacking or Sticky Web (you can also use Froslass/Leavanny respectively for that, but Smeargle can do both so it should get a lot of usage).

Kyurem is obviously really strong, and Shaymin, Raikou, and Rhyperior should be very good too. Like others said, TR will definitely be deadly with Reuniclus, Drudd, Escav, and Aboma, along with solid setters in Slowking, Aromatisse, and Cofagrigus.

This should be interesting.

Let's not forget Golurk. Assault Vest will let take on a lot of Special Attackers like Calm Mind Raikou.

+2 252 SpA Raikou Hidden Power Ice vs. 252 HP / 160 SpD Assault Vest Golurk: 160-190 (41.8 - 49.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
0 Atk Golurk Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Raikou: 330-390 (102.8 - 121.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Also it was great on hail being immune to Fighting and resisting Rock, there is no reason for this to be different this time. I did these calcs quickly and the defensive spread is by no means optimum.

Moltres is probably not the best idea for a defogger because it can't switch in at all with rocks up, but we've got some decent options for Defog as teammates for stuff like Moltres and Kyurem. I'll bet Skuntank, Golbat, and Shiftry could all use defog effectively. Skuntank deals with Psychics very well, Golbat is bulky as fuck and checks fighting types, and Shiftry hits hard on both sides while making use of a very strong sucker punch.

Arikado, you can' use Magic Guard on Xatu or Immunity on Gligar with defog because of gen differences.

The Shellder Smuggler, Haxorus is banned.

I was afraid we wouldn't keep Amoonguss and Tangrowth this gen, but praise Arceus we did. Tang can run mixed with Ass Vest (but I'll stick to SP and seeds), and Spore on Amoon is a little weaker but stiff fun (and Amoon gained a type advantage against faires).

Our only two megas are Mega Obama and Mega Bane (Amphy why ;-;), with Banette>Obama imo because of Aboma's lacking speed and Banette's access to prankster WoW and DBond (on top of that it has 165 atk, so even damaging moves are easy to use, including SP and Knock Buff).

Ssome threats we'll have to prep for on every team are Shaymin, Esca, Reun, Croak, some stall stuff, and brimg a defogger because Smeargle is back.
