He won't live 2 hydro pumps or 2 tri attacks.

Very much doubt that it'll live through even one.

Porygon-z has amazing coverage but it doesn't have enough speed to compliment that.

I don't think its coverage is actually that good. Sure, you hit everything neutrally, but only seven types super-effectively, and most of the time Tri Attack is the superior move anyway.

One of the reasons they're so effective is the fact that a lot of peole just don't run Fighting-types. RU is filled with physically defensive cores and Fighting resists like Uxie and Gligar, not to mention the bulky spinblockers like Cofagrigus and Dusknoir. Of course, that brings in the second reason they're effective, most cores are designed to handle physical threats so specially offensive threats like Pedo, P-Z, and Moltres absolutely rip through weakened teams.

I think you guys are looking at Sharpedo the wrong way. It's supposed to late-game sweep, not supposed to come out mid-game or early-game and try to wall-break. What I think should be looked at when considering Sharpedo's broken-ness is how effectively it late-game sweeps, what it needs removed before it can do that (eg: Hitmonchan, Poliwrath and CB Entei), and what needs to be weakened so it can just straight-up KO them. Depending on how well Sharpedo does these things, it might potentially be broken.

I wish I could go more in depth, but sadly I didn't get the chance to use Sharpedo much since I haven't played RU in a while. I'm neither for or against Sharpedo right now, I'd just like how effectively it sweeps to be the main reason why or why not to be banned, not its wall-breaking capabilities.

I agree with DragonTamerChris that it should be used late game sweeping. I pair my mixpedo with a scarf moltres to beat all grass/fighting types and it does great. If someone lacks priority though it could mean trouble facing a sharpedo and can easily sweep. Although sharpedo is no where near ban worthy people do underestimate sharpedo just because its super frail.

Hitmonlee has decent special defese, it can take one with hazards against porygon-z. Hitmonlee fails to take a hydro pump from Sharpedo if there are hazards on the field, which is p common

Having Fighting types does not mean they are counters, it just means they can threaten them.

Anyways, I don't think Sharpedo is suspect worthy at the minute. The other great late-game sweeper is scarf Krookidile with moxie. Too bad its probably moving up next month

From the Scarf variant maybe. I don't think it'll survive against any of its other sets.

Why more people aren't using Specs is beyond me.

Um, duh? I know this. What I meant is without Fighting-types to threaten them, they become more effective.

I really don't like Scarf Krookodile. It's fairly weak without Moxie boosts, and the Adamant variant is slower than Jolly Scarf Medicham and other Scarfed Base 80s. I find the Life Orb variant to be a lot better.
