NP: UU - Bye Bye Bye

Sadly, I do have 3 ground weaks on my team, and Houndoom and Toxicroak have such great synergy...

I'd say that a triple Ground weakness can still be worked around. It's the triple Water weakness that I had that's become a much bigger problem now that Raikou is gone and everyone prepares for Venusaur. It's a real shame because I haven't had to change the team at all for about seven months (more if you don't count the forced Yanmega eviction).

Instead of using Moltres/Venu/Milotic cores, which I believe is predictable at this point, I'm just going to throw out the idea of building a team around synergy.

Do people not have synergy in their teams...?

rock polish torterra kicks ass, unfortunatly, it has almost no times to set up. Moltres can fire blast (duh), milotic typically carries ice beam, rotom are not usually scarved and carry will - o - wisp, etc. If it carrys wood hammer and life orb, it easily kills itself with some clever switching, and if it carries leftovers and seed bomb, it only does about 60% to my max/max donphan who can then roar it out.

regiisteel, uxie without yawn, steelix, donphan, slowbro, choice banded spiritomb, regirock,DUGTRIO, some claydol, chansey without toxic, slowbro/king...lol if you really plan on switching torterra into any moltres you fail, and you shouldnt set up on milotic unless you know it doesnt have ice beam or toxic, and never against any rotom unless it is choiced...
and if someone is gonna use seed bomb at least have life orb so that it can make up for the lack of power, but wood hammer is just too deadly to pass up on torterra that you'll see a major difference in damage output between wood hammer-seedbomb

Sometimes I think u don't even play... who the heck uses seed bomb + lefties?

So I've been using a Specs Manectric lead and it has been fun. Most things that want to take a Thunderbolt don't enjoy an Overheat like Steelix or Venusaur, and Switcheroo is just icing on the cake.

Houndoom + Toxicroak is still an amazing core and I've been raping many stall (and other) teams with it. I'd just like to remind everyone that Lum Berry > LO on SDcroak.

I've been running a Mismagius set that annoys people and it's been pretty fun. Max Speed/Special Attack with Will-o-Wisp, Shadow Ball, Thunderbolt, and Destiny Bond. Can pretty much guarantee a kill while crippling another Pokemon.

What the crap is an immunity team? UU has so many different types that I'd be surprised if any given UU team didn't have at least 3 immunities to something. Plus, it's generally required to have those on a good team unless you want to get thoroughly raped by stall, status, or Dugtrio.

I have used Houndoom and Toxicroak on and off, and they rape pretty hard.
my team that I'm using now consists of a BoltBeaming/Twave/SR Mesprit lead, HoundCroak, Double Powder/Leaf Storm Tangrowth and the last two have been variables.

also, I have used a Missy lead similar to what Thund posted, exchanging TBolt for Taunt and less SPA EVs. 'twas pretty fun, and nearly always allowed for at least one kill and one crippled sweeper.

I give up. For whatever reason, this metagame is too hard. I'm struggling to get to 1600 rating. I'm not going to subject myself to losses to everything that moves anymore.

My teams:

Moltres/Hitmontop/Blaziken/Venusaur/Milotic/Registeel

Murkrow (Swellow? I doubt it will make a difference) /Donphan/Toxicroak/Sceptile/Milotic/Registeel

Uxie/Weezing (?)/Qwilfish/Kabutops/Ludicolo/Dugtrio

Snover/Nidoqueen/Hitmontop/Chansey/Walrein/Rotom

I just realized how similar the first two teams are.

I used Houndoom + Toxicroak since the beginning on the last suspect test. All i can say is, its just as powerful as before, but people are starting to have an easier time dealing with it, as far as I have seen.

That's really odd because I have run a team that looked a lot like your first one, but with Donphan over Top, and was able to reach a 18xx rating comfortably. That said I would like to express how, differently from pretty much everybody, I'm hating how the ladder is going. There's a difference between pathetic gimmicks and variety...

I don't get what people are facing that are such pathetic gimmicks? ;_;
Yeah sure sometimes you battle that one crazy person who uses SubPunch Chansey but most teams are still pretty standard.

I've run into some pathetic gimmicks, to be fair (a midgame Focus Sash Butterfree and Absol, special scyther, HP Ice Registeel...) but for the most part people are experimenting with Pokemon that could feasibly work (like CM Clefable or lead Torterra *cough*)

I haven't seem many gimmicks, just a lot of lesser used things, especially in the lead position(Sharpedo, Nidoking, Drapion, etc...), but also things such as Curse Muk and what have you.
though I did face a team with SubSomething Dodrio and a team using Metang, Bronzor, Magneton, etc. o.O

I havn't seen lot of gimmicks myself. Infact, I've tend to be running into the same pokemons over-and-over again. I tends to run into a team consisting of

Ambipom/Uxie, Venusaur, Arcanine/Houndoom, Slowking/Milotic, Mismagius, and some sort of steel type or spinner.

I don't mind. As even that short of a list is much larger than the list of pokes I seen last round. Plus they're easier to handle than the old list.

I saw a Rock Polish Steelix today. And I've noticed that CroakDoom is literally everywhere now. I know that IB and Thund use it, and it really is so damn effective, but every other team seems to be packing them now. Time to get the SubTrio train rolling.

When I think about it, I've never ran into a Toxicroak so far this round. I've used one myslef, but not with Houndoom.

RP Steelix sound pretty cool. Now that I think about it, I've ran into a RP Gligar sweeper. It didn't work too well against my Donphan though (Ice Shards ftw).

RP Steelix sound pretty cool.

Lol yes it does sound pretty cool, but it's not really effective in practice. Base 30 speed means you outspeed base 105s at +2 if you have max+ sped. That's not bad, but when you only have a paltry 85 attack, you're going to need all the Adamant you can get. Plus, its piss-poor Special Defense gets no EVs (if you want to actually, y'know, sweep with it) so Sceppy/Zam can easily revenge you. In my match, it got the RP as I switched into Cloyster. It crit my 0 HP/0 Defense Cloyster with Rock Slide and still didn't OHKO. And then I Surfed it for a clean OHKO. Verdict: extreme suckage.

Lol I ran RP Steelix on a SS team and I would always get a kick out of it when Moltres would switch in thinking 'lol still outsped' only to be OHKO'd. I ran Adamant. It's not that bad and you can always Explode on something like Milo or Donphan who handle any Steelix set anyway. Rock Polish Regice is also pretty decent. I did run into a RP Registeel though and that was just pathetic.

dude, it may not be as effective as in NU, but rock polish charge beam regice sweeps teams without any fighting or fire types left.

That's why I only said it sounds cool. haha.

I say let them have fun. The metagame's at a standstill though and there isn't much to discuss anymore.

Anyone see Headsmash Donphan? One just fired one off as I switched in Moltres. He/She didn't even have a reason to do so (rocks were down on his side of the field and he didn't bring out Stealth Rock)
It was pretty random.

Edit: You guys should totally run Passho Berry Rock Polish Aggron. One of the BEST Bulky water lures out there. Seriously, unless you miss you are guaranteed to take out their bulky waters with ease.
