Hello everyone and welcome to my closing remarks on this NPL season.
It was a really fun NPL, not only because we won, but also because I saw many old faces and new faces from the German community. That's what makes the NPL so special, and I hope it stays that way! I hope that some new players have gotten excited about it and I would be happy to see more of you in the future. Because that's how it all started for me, on the bench of the Ballermann Bierbären.
My bro
hellom and I had been planning to manage a team for quite some time, and the NPL's switch to Smogon was the perfect opportunity. Both in terms of which players to get for the team and during the draft, we always came to an agreement immediately. Thank you for all your support with teams and adjustment suggestions. You were a big reason why our players performed so well. I will gladly do this again with you!
As for the players. I will start by addresing you in order of the draft.
Gefährlicher Random what can I say. When we saw your application, you were immediately our first choice, for whom we would have paid 40,000. Luckily you weren't that expensive but it would have been worth it for sure. I knew you were really good, but the way you analyze the game and your opponents is really on another level. I learned a lot from you and am glad we had you on the team. Even outside of games, you were a cool presence in chat and i would love to team with ou again!
Ruffles You were really good, and I would have liked to finish the tournament with you. Unfortunately, there were a few communication issues. Nevertheless, I would like to thank you for your efforts. Without you, things might have turned out differently, so you deserve this victory as much as we do. I also wish you all the best in your personal life.
RoFnA our Hofnarr (I love that nickname, sorry). hellom were set on getting a German speaking SV slot from the start, which would cost around 10k. After seeing some of your tour performances and the wcop ubers results we were thinking that with the support we can give you could thrive. And you did just that. I would say that you have taken another big step forward and can hold your own against the big names. But sometimes you can be a bit of a Nervensäge when it comes to scheduling and communicating with your managers... but otherwise a fun chat presence for sure!
Tenebricite honestly we did not imagine getting you that cheap lol, 5k is wild. You were incredible. When I couldn't get anything right in SM, you swapped spots with me and won every game. I'm impressed by how many tiers you can play at such a high level. Watching your videos was also a lot of fun, and I hope there will be more to come. You've got one more fan, bro!
Baddy Mr. 9-0. OMG, I knew you were good (because you beat me once, and that means you must be really good, right?), but an undefeated streak is totally crazy. You were the last player we spent a lot of money on. At the time, it was a bit nerve-wracking because we still needed at least one more German player to comply with the four German player rule. Needless to say, you were worth every penny, and we have never regretted this decision. Your presence on Discord and your friendly manner are also really great!
ukaaa DPP god ukaukauka. I already knew you were good at gaming, and you're also a good friend, so I figured it would work out somehow in DPP. I asked Hellom if he knew anyone who could provide teams (because I wouldn't be able to do it myself), and with the help of the legend
TyCarter (Huge thanks again bro!) you absolutely dominated the tour (best 3k ever???). You just needed the right environment, then you'd win your games too. And deep down, you're a Koko who likes to play with kinetic sand.
magialice really good start and sadly not the best finish. I'm sorry we couldn't help you more. At times, you really were on your own. Nevertheless, you performed well and won the games in the decisive weeks. Besides, the defeat in the final was intentional so that I, as captain, could secure the final victory, right?
Jojo8868 I'm sorry we didn't give you a game to play. It was partly due to the German rule and partly because everyone performed so well in your tiers. I would have liked to have written more with you, maybe you can show a bit more chat presence in future team tours.
Sacred the king of the german room himself. After losing in the semifinals last year, I was determined to try again to win the title. And even though I knew you didn't have much time, I wanted you to be there when we won, 5k was a bit much though.... Of course, now we have to ask ourselves whether you were the right manager and had what it takes to win. Joking aside, I'm glad we won the tour together and that you were willing to step in despite your limited time.
LB You only got one game, which was against Fusien, and I was on vacation at the time and couldn't help at all. I'm sorry you couldn't show more, because I'm sure you would have done well. Your chat presence was always top notch, and your willingness to test and watch over teams was impressive! I'm glad we had you on our team.
Pinecoishot Here, too, it's similar to the other two in that you didn't play. Your willingness to give and improve teams was often crucial to the success we had. I also believe that your record would have been very good if you had had the chance to play. It was great teaming up with you.
Fragments The good-natured and cheerful soul of the chat. Your presence was truly wonderful, and I am grateful for all your dedication! When you played your one game, which was too few for your abilities, you delivered immediately. You are a cool guy who enriches any team.
Hyssou It was a very strange situation to join a team so late and have your only game be in the final, haha. It wasn't easy, but I thought it was great to see how interested you were and that you got involved right away. Luckily, it was worth it!

Thanks also to the hosts. Having done it myself, I know it can be a thankless job. But without you, the community would no longer exist (pls don't do the NPL in summer again though).
