Tagging Roxiee to add Elias PSY's Imprison set to the HOF. Congratulation!

Cycle 7 - Claydol
song provided by Roxiee
:ss/Claydol:
Claydol has been around for quite some time now but it was hold back by RU for a long time. To our surprise it finally dropped to NU and found a niche as a pivot/spinner. But it has many different utility/offensive options up its sleeve! Its up you to find them out for the Next Best Thing!
Submissions will end on Saturday, November 14th. Good luck everyone (get it?)

Dual Dance Claydol

Claydol Shiny sprite from Black 2 & White 2 & Black & White

Claydol @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Rock Polish
- Psychic
- Scorching Sands

With access to Nasty Plot and Rock Polish, Claydol becomes a legitimately scary sweeper in the right situation. It's solid bulk let it set up on a lot of really passive mons, such as Weezing, and it can break through so much with it's dual STABs, able to hit every mon in the tier. Dazzling Gleam or Ice Beam can be great secondary options over Scorching, but you have to make sure your team can handle the steels it needs to for this mon. It heavily appreciates mons like Fairyvally or Whimsi, who can come in and threaten a lot of the mons that destroy it, such as Eggy-A, Guzz, or Absol.

Claydol @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Rock Polish
- Earth Power
- Psychic

- Shadow Ball

the basic idea of that set is absically to use it behind aurora-veil as a setup-sweeper and with many pokemon around dishing out super-effective hits on claydol such as centiskorch, jellicent, alola eggy, and sneasel it gets enough opportunities to do so.
the nature is modest to have more damage output as 70 spatt isnt that high to begin with, but with a modest nature it can secure more damage output. the set contains its dual-stabs in earth power and psychic and its coverage option is shadow ball, as with so many ghosts in a tier, shadow ball can function really well to hit the necessary targets.

October is Over (Claydol) @ Expert Belt / Kasib Berry / Life Orb

EVs: 148 HP / 252 SpA / 108 Spe
Modest Nature

- Earth Power
- Grass Knot / Teleport / Stealth Rock / Psychic / idk
- Rapid Spin
- Shadow Ball
I accidentally closed the tab and I'm doing this again. Claydol is often helpless against Ghost types bar using Teleport but this set lures them and beats them on the switch or even 1v1. Grass Knot is specifically for Jellicent but help against other Water types and if your team handles Jellicent well enough you can go for another move. 108 speed creeps Adamant Trevenant and the rest is put on HP to handle Haunter and Rotom better, Expert Belt is the best option as it improves your average damage output without recoil but Kasib Berry is also great and Life Orb is a niche option if you really want power. (Max Speed can be run to outspeed things like Offensive Centiscorch and Adamant Arctovish/Alolaslash outside of hail)
Wall of Calcs that many of them are prediction reliant/need Stealth Rock but the surprise factor is enoug

Nasty Plot + Stored Power
:ss/claydol:
Claydol @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Substitute / Rapid Spin
- Stored Power
- Earth Power

Claydol is one of the underrated picks as it can shut down maybe of the Rock-type Pokemon that were introduced in the CT release such as Regirock, Aggron, and Rhydon with its Ground-typing and with Claydol having access to Nasty Plot, its able to boost its SpA STAB moves on mentioned passive threats. Substitute is nice for avoiding Toxic while Nasty Plot is boosting the power of Stored Power. Rapid Spin is slash on the set because it supports Stored Power also.

Body Press
:bw/claydol:
Claydol @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Iron Defense
- Body Press
- Teleport
- Earth Power

This set's purpose is to be a setup sweeper with Iron Defense + Body Press, similar to Dubwool from NU Beta.
Calm nature because it doesnt have much SpD investment, and its defense is good enough.

Iron Defense and Body Press are so claydol can sweep. Teleport because slow pivot is useful, and Earth Power for coverage.

Cosmic Power Beyblade
:ss/claydol:
Claydol @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Cosmic Power
- Stored Power
- Rest
- Body Press/ Sleep Talk

the idea of this set is to set up once the dark types are out of the way and sweep teams with boosted stored powers. In a late game scenario this mon can be a threat to teams without a proper psychic resist. The Colbur Berry allows it to put in Dark types like Sneasel, Absol, or Guzzlord, and KO them with a boosted Body Press. Alternatively, you could opt for Sleep Talk/Leftovers and just make sure that Dark types are out of the way. EVs are straight forward, max HP, 16 Speed for Eggy-A, and the rest in Defense to take those Knock Offs. Has potential to get out of hand if not managed properly, and I hope you guys enjoy the Beyblade!

Screener Claydol
:ss/claydol:
Claydol @ Light Clay
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Rapid Spin/Explosion
- Scorching Sands

General idea
The idea is to use Claydol as a bulky screener (with the aid of Light Clay) because this pokemon is pretty bulky.
Scorching Sands as STAB move here can be good because Claydol can't deal much damage anyway (especially when uninvested) and you might fish a useful burn.
The 4th slot is up to you. You can opt for Rapid Spin if you want more role compression and/or you need a Rapid Spinner with the possibily to enter multiple times under the screens. Otherwise, you can use Explosion to keep the momentum after having played the screens and is picked over Teleport (which is really good) because it is Taunt-proof.
The EVs spread is highly customizable, but 16 Spe EVs are here to outspeed Alolan Exeggutor. The remaining EVs are invested in the physical bulk; otherwise you can invest on both sides of the spectrum, but I don't recommend because focusing on only one side can allow Claydol to set-up screens more easily towards some threats (physical offensive or special offensive depending on your EVs spread).

Congrats to your____bro for winning the Claydol cycle with Cosmic Power+Stored Power!
Cycle 8 - SPIRIT
:ss/mesprit:
Mesprit arrived in PU at the beginning of November and was immediately apart of their PUBL but thankfully, Mesprit has found a wonderful place in NU while serving many roles such as utiltity, wallbreaker/setup-sweeper, or even speed control! I'd like to point out that Mesprit synergizes with pretty much every single new Rock release considering it resists Fighting-type attacks and has Ground-type immunity thanks to Levitate. Submissions will end on Saturday, November 21st, Good Luck!
None!

Mesprit @ Colbur Berry / Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Psychic
- U-turn / Knock Off
- Healing Wish

A SM PU classic before NU took it and never gave it back. Pretty standard build with rocks being the main feature while STAB Psychic is there for Poisons and Fightings. U-turn is preferred here for that much-needed momentum to give your team. However, Knock Off is a nice little slap in the face for mons that think they're safe coming in on it only to lose their item! Healing Wish is to help out that one mon on your team that needs it the most whether it be a sweeper, a tank, etc. The Speed investment allows it to creep fully invested base 50s like Adamant Aggron.

Enjoy!

Choice Scarf + Healing Wish
:ss/mesprit:

Mesprit @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Healing Wish
- Psychic
- Dazzling Gleam
- Grass Knot / Trick

Liking Scarf Healing Wish a lot as this H-Wish is the main thing a teammate can do to keep Guzzlord healthy. I ran this set in Crobat meta but outspeeding Poison-types like Haunter, Salazzle, and Toxicroak is still appreciated. Dazzling Gleam hits Dark- and Dragon-type Pokemon while the last slot if flexible pretty much. Grass Knot is nice for heavy rocks like Gigalith, Regirock, Aurorus or Ground-type Pokemon like Rhydon, Mudsdale, or Gastrodon. Trick is an option also to cripple Pokemon but it doesn't synergize well with Knock Off teammates like Alolan Persian or Guzzlord well.
