Most Amoongus carry Sludge Bomb which will destroy Sawsbuck anyway and seeing as physically defensive Amoongus can take a hit ( I'm assuming here) Sawsbuck isn't really a good counter.

Admittedly, the recoil from Double-Edge would take a heavy toll, but Sawsbuck can do it.

It's still not guaranteed though making it a shaky counter. I myself prefer Sap Sipper Miltank and I suppose even Sap Sipper Zebstrika could work with Overheat.

Alternatively, you could just run Baton Pass on your Sawsbuck and pass out to something that can take a Sludge Bomb and benefits from the +1 Attack boost, like Braviary or Emboar. That seems like a more useful strategy to me, because these recipients have the potential to be far more deadly than Sawsbuck, completely destroying even resistant opponents if they hold Choice Bands as well.
