Every teamcord needs a dedicated yapper, and Lyra fills this role admirably. He currently has 2,597 lines in the NUFL Drifblims teamcord. He can also play the game pretty good. Can someone vouch for me too, @Theycallmephil doesnt have enough clout
Honestly, you can probably say something similar about KeshBa54 ’s rby nu, he plays a lot of rby nu friendlies and has definitely beaten me a couple times for as little as that’s worth. Plays OU in rbypl so should have little trouble with NU though likely buy as a 2nd flex slot with someone who builds. Not too much experience yet but it doesn’t take long to go from learning the tier to basically being a MainerKeshBa54 would be a solid GSC pickup. They are almost daily pinging in the GSC server for GSC NU games. After playing some friendlies here and there, I think they have a sharp intuition for the tier despite a lack of experience. Paired with a primary GSC player to test and build with, I think this is a prime pick for any team feeling weak into a double GSC week. They've established themselves as a strong GSC OU presence these last two years, and have poised themselves to potentially make OU Circuit this year in 15th or 16th. They have GSC fundamentals and seem eager to learn. Looking at the current prospective pool, I feel confident they'd do better than a lot of the flex players likely to play in a double GSC week.
I need confirmation that there's a midseason auction before I dare draft a Brazilian playerBR Community Shoutouts
I would also like to shout out 5MGMatthew5, along with Heatranator as i have been working together with them recently and they'll be great contributors to any team both as a support and a player.TL;DR:
Managers, I recommend that you all invest in new talent for the good of the tier, the tour, and your own teams. NUCL is a very competitive tournament and an amazing experience to be part of, but it’s also a celebration of our old gens and an entry point for new NUers. And although I’m suggesting some names, each one of you will know players who fit that “new talent” category pick them!
Ok, I know it might be a bit unconventional for a manager to make a recommendation list for other managers, but hear me out. NUCL, as competitive as it is, is one of , if not the, best places to give real opportunities to new players.
Every roster will likely have around 14–16 players, and at least 3–4 of those will probably be players with less playing time or experience.
I think it’s fundamental for those of us who are part of this community and want to see it thrive to give opportunities to players willing to test themselves at least by letting them be part of a big team tour with big names. It’s a chance for them to learn what a competitive environment feels like, make new connections, and keep playing our beloved NU tiers.
I’m not asking anyone to drastically change their top 12 targets or main draft plans, but we all know we eventually end up with some picks that weren’t even on our radar especially in the later rounds.
Last NUCL, I think I kind of dropped the ball on that part by not giving Hammer the space he needed, even though he was phenomenal in multiple aspects. After NUCL, he went on to perform really well in several old gen tours.
In NUPL, I personally asked our ladder hero Loocas to sign up, and we saw him blossom into a pillar of the community. Now a manager himself (self-buy you ****) and one of the elite players of our tier. So yeah, by doing this, we’re not only helping our community but also adding motivated, talented, and often untested players who can turn out to be amazing (and cheap) picks.
Some Suggestions
I know there will inevitably be snubs , even by myself ,since drafting depends on team needs and budget. But still, keep these names in mind. I’ll avoid mentioning “new guys” who are already obvious locks (like Shadow, for example).
Let’s start with the obvious ones the Rising Stars. All of them are deserving, but I’d especially like to shout out players with a bit less experience, like:
Wabby, Brick, Emo, MGJG, Kapper, Zangoose, noa...
All great nominations, honestly. But especially Matthew having worked with him and watched him play all year, you’ll get a very active person (on the more chaotic good side). Watching him play, I was really impressed by his progress and decision-making in tours. He is the biggest grinder and that for sure deserves all the respect in the world.
BR Community Shoutouts
A few BR nominations who can play multiple tiers gotta represent my community:
Mik3y, leo568, KniY, Cartulo, GUZOT, doso749, mipc, and finally Braga S2 this dude went 5-1 in PTPL!
(Plage, Envy, and Estra are also in the pool, but you know them...)
Other Notable Mentions
Some players PMed me who were super chill and clearly eager to get involved:
I’m definitely forgetting some names of people who reached out and others I’d 100% recommend as well. My bad for that, I still hope all of you get drafted.
- DontStealmyname — seems to have a nice story in SM
- Hxmo and DonBoneJones — play and build SS
- Zcarlett — doesn’t need much introduction, always active and willing to participate
(yes I used chatgpt to check for grammar and formating, no time to waste brother.)
Thanks for recommending me, brother, you're welcome! ( anyone draft me pls)TL;DR:
