Obstagoon is an amazing wallbreaker in RU. Guts-boosted STAB Facade hits incredibly hard, and its Ghost immunity is nice to fit on bulky offense teams. Knock Off hits Ghost-types like Chandelure and can cripple walls like Diancie. Close Combat complements Obstagoon's STAB moves well, nailing foes like Cobalion and Stakataka. Switcheroo is great against foes that Obstagoon cannot easily muscle past, like Steelix. Obstagoon pairs nicely with pivots such as Flygon and Noivern, which can get it in safely. Wallbreakers like Chandelure and Toxtricity help Obstagoon get past Galarian Weezing, its main counter. While Obstagoon has a decent Speed tier, it is still checked by many Pokemon in the tier, so defensive Pokemon like Togekiss and Milotic are useful. In return, Obstagoon can pressure Steel-types for Togekiss and beat other passive Pokemon for Milotic.

In the RU Snake Draft, Thiago Nunes's Obstagoon proved to be a valuable asset against Lily's Ghost-spam team.
