Set Description
=========

Offensive Swords Dance Blaziken is a vicious wallbreaker and sweeper thanks to its solid STAB combination, coverage options, and flexible item selection. Blaziken's choice of coverage depends on what its team requires: Knock Off is its strongest option against non-Colbur Berry variants of Slowbro, hits Dragapult hard, threatens Galarian Slowking without relying on Flare Blitz, and punishes switch-ins like Landorus-T and Dragonite by removing their items. Thunder Punch lets Blaziken take on bulky Water-types like Tapu Fini, Toxapex, and Pelipper, and hits Slowbro harder than Knock Off after it loses its item. An Adamant nature maximizes Blaziken's damage output, while a Jolly nature lets it outrun Tapu Koko, Dragapult, and Zeraora at +1. Blaziken's item slot offers plenty of flexibility: Air Balloon lets it set up on Landorus-T; Life Orb allows it to cleanly OHKO bulky targets like Clefable and specially defensive Landorus-T after a boost; and Protective Pads is useful for avoiding contact punishment from Zapdos, Garchomp, and Ferrothorn.

Team Options
========

This Blaziken variant is a natural fit on a multitude of offensive structures like offense, bulky offense, hyper offense, and even sun teams, which appreciate its wallbreaking capabilities and the snowball effect that Speed Boost provides. Offensive Grass-types like Rillaboom and Kartana form a strong partnership with Blaziken, as they can handle bulky Water-types like Toxapex, Slowbro, and Tapu Fini, and can overwhelm shared checks like Zapdos and Dragonite; these Grass-types also provide Knock Off to remove Heavy-Duty Boots from these Pokemon. Rillaboom is especially notable, as it summons Grassy Terrain to weaken the damage that Blaziken takes from Earthquake and let it slowly heal off the recoil damage taken from Flare Blitz and Life Orb. Weavile handles the likes of Slowbro, smashes through Ground-types like Landorus-T, Garchomp, and Hippowdon, revenge kills Dragon-types like Dragonite and Dragapult, and enjoys Blaziken's ability to handle Buzzwole and Steel-types like Melmetal, Ferrothorn, and Flame Body Heatran. Tapu Lele softens checks like Tapu Fini for Blaziken to clean up later in the game and provides Psychic Terrain to deny priority moves like Urshifu-R's Aqua Jet. Choice Scarf variants of Tapu Lele are a notable case, as they also have the benefit of revenge killing Dragon-types like Dragapult, Garchomp, and a boosted Dragonite, and apply heavy pressure on Toxapex with Future Sight. Pivots like Tapu Koko, Tornadus-T, Landorus-T, and Slowbro are also helpful; Tapu Koko and Tornadus-T can bring Blaziken in with a fast Volt Switch and U-turn, while Landorus-T and Slowbro utilize a slow U-turn and Teleport, respectively, to make up for Blaziken's frailty and below-average Speed. Additionally, Slowbro puts heavy pressure on checks like Toxapex and Dragonite with Future Sight, allowing it and Blaziken to overcome them together. Tapu Fini checks Urshifu-R, switches into Scale Shot variants of Garchomp to prevent them from sweeping in a pinch, and summons Misty Terrain, allowing Blaziken to set up more easily without being bothered by status ailments. On hyper offense teams, a dedicated lead like Mew is greatly beneficial, as it can stop entry hazards from being set up with its fast Taunt while setting up hazards of its own. Alolan Ninetales is another good partner for Blaziken, being able to set up Aurora Veil, put an opposing Pokemon to sleep with Hypnosis, or use Encore to lock defensive Pokemon like Clefable and Ferrothorn into non-attacking or resisted moves, allowing Blaziken to take advantage of the setup opportunities provided. Dragon-type sweepers like Garchomp, Dragonite, and Dragapult form a solid core with Blaziken, as they can overwhelm shared checks like Tapu Fini and Slowbro for the other to clean up late-game, and these Dragon-types enjoy the removal of Weavile and Ground-immune Steel-types like Corviknight and Skarmory. On sun teams, Torkoal is a mandatory partner, as the sun it provides turns Flare Blitz into a devastating tool that can cleave through defensive structures with ease. Venusaur is another solid partner on these teams, as it can bowl over Water-types that give Blaziken trouble like Tapu Fini, Urshifu-R, and Slowbro, and forces damage against Ground-types like Landorus-T and shared Dragon-type checks like Dragapult and Dragonite for Blaziken to clean up later and vice versa.

Set Description

Offensive Swords Dance Blaziken is a vicious wallbreaker and sweeper thanks to its solid STAB combination, coverage options, and flexible item selection. Flare Blitz smashes key targets like Rillaboom, Corviknight, and Buzzwole, and hits neutral targets like Landorus-T, Clefable, and Tornadus-T for serious damage. Close Combat plows through Tyranitar, Heatran, and Blissey, and threatens neutral targets like Garchomp and Rotom-W after a boost. Blaziken's choice of coverage depends on what its team requires: Knock Off hits Dragapult hard, threatens Galarian Slowking without relying on Flare Blitz (mention the original Slowtwins as Knock Off is the best move Blaziken has against them outside of Colbur Slowbro), and punishes switch-ins like Landorus-T and Dragonite by removing their items, while Thunder Punch lets Blaziken take on bulky Water-types like Tapu Fini, Toxapex, and Pelipper. An Adamant nature maximizes Blaziken's damage output, while a Jolly nature lets it outrun Tapu Koko, Dragapult, and Zeraora at +1. Blaziken's item slot offers plenty of flexibility: Air Balloon lets it set up on Landorus-T; Life Orb allows it to cleanly OHKO bulky targets like Clefable and specially defensive Landorus-T after a boost; and Protective Pads is useful for avoiding contact punishment from Zapdos, Ferrothorn, and Rocky Helmet users like Buzzwole and Corviknight.

Rillaboom is especially notable, as it summons Grassy Terrain to weaken the damage that Blaziken takes from Earthquake and let it slowly heal off the recoil damage taken from Flare Blitz (mention Life Orb recoil). Weavile handles the likes of Zapdos and Slowbro (Less about Zapdos since Weavile + Blaziken teams usually have Blaziken Flare Blitzing the Zapdos rather than the other way round, Triple Axel is just asking for Static to proc. I think Weavile is good for threatening out the Slowtwins, Ground-types like Landorus-T/Garchomp/Hippowdon, and the Dragon-types you mention below.), revenge kills Dragon-types like Dragonite and Dragapult, and enjoys Blaziken's ability to handle Buzzwole and Steel-types like Melmetal, Ferrothorn, and Flame Body Heatran. Tapu Lele softens opposing teams for Blaziken to clean up late-game (How? you need to explain how Tapu Lele does this, e.g. it forces damage on bulky Water-types that are often used to pivot around Tapu Lele like the Slowtwins and Tapu Fini. I do think that the more important dynamic between the two is how Tapu Lele is capable of threatening Dragon-types, particularly with Choice Scarf variants.) and provides Psychic Terrain to deny priority moves like Urshifu-R's Aqua Jet. Additionally, Slowbro puts heavy pressure on checks like Toxapex and Dragonite with Future Sight, allowing it and Blaziken to overcome it together. Tapu Fini checks Urshifu-R (mention how it helps out against Dragon-types too) and summons Misty Terrain, allowing Blaziken to set up more easily without being bothered by status ailments. On hyper offense teams, a dedicated lead like Mew is greatly beneficial, as it can stop entry hazards from being set up with its fast Taunt while setting up hazards of its own. Dragon-type sweepers like Garchomp, Dragonite, and Dragapult form a solid core with Blaziken, as they can overwhelm shared checks (like? please list out some examples, e.g. Tapu Fini, Slowbro for Garchomp/Dragonite, etc) for the other to clean up late-game, and these Dragon-types enjoy the removal of Weavile and Ground-immune Steel-types like Corviknight and Skarmory. On sun teams, Torkoal is a mandatory partner, as the sun it provides turns Flare Blitz into a devastating tool that can cleave through defensive structures with ease. Venusaur is another solid partner on these teams, as it can bowl over Water-types that give Blaziken trouble like Tapu Fini, Urshifu-R, and Barraskewda (more defensive Water-types would make for a better example than Barraskewda, also mention bulky Ground-types here), and soften opposing teams (mainly achieves this by forcing in Dragon-types that check both Venusaur and Blaziken) for Blaziken to clean up later and vice versa.

Set Description

Offensive Swords Dance Blaziken is a vicious; punc wallbreaker and sweeper its versatile stat boosting can not only KO sturdy Pokemon, not only outrun would-be answers, but also snowball into both. Readers might not well understand "wallbreaker" and "sweeper". "snowball" brought from below thanks to its solid STAB combination, coverage options, and flexible item selection. Readers know this from first glance at the exportable, and they might not yet be interested in the whys. (Likewise, it has many opportunities to specialize.) Add something to better bridge the gap from the general to the specific. If you add this sentence, then you do not need the next one. Blaziken's The choice of coverage its final move depends on what its team requires:; punc Knock Off is (can) [verb] Try an active verb to match those following, like "excels against". its strongest option against non-Colbur Berry variants of It is too early in the analysis to get into the weeds; interested readers will find this information not far below. Slowbro, hits Dragapult hard, threatens Galarian Slowking without relying on Flare Blitz, and punishes switch-ins like the likes of Landorus-T and Dragonite by removing their items as they are sent out. Otherwise, Vary the beginning of sentences. Thunder Punch lets Blaziken takes on bulky Water types Readers know what these are. the likes of Tapu Fini, Toxapex, and Pelipper, and hits particularly Slowbro harder than Knock Off after it loses its item. with either Colbur Berry or no item. You said that its choice of coverage move depends on its team, yet you described what those moves do only for itself; there is at most an implication that the benefits listed would serve others. That is appropriate for this half of the analysis, so you might try a different way of introducing that choice. An Adamant nature maximizes Blaziken's damage output, Readers know. while a Jolly nature lets it outrun Tapu Koko, Dragapult, and Zeraora at +1. Nature is of less interest and has been moved below in order also to keep the connection between choices. This Blaziken variant is a natural fit on a multitude of offensive structures like offense, bulky offense, hyper offense, and active and fast-paced teams, even (including) sun. punc teams, which appreciate its wallbreaking capabilities and the snowball effect that Speed Boost provides moved to the introductory paragraph Offensive Powerful means both "strong" and Smogon's version of 'offensive' Grass-types partners like Rillaboom and Kartana form a strong partnership with Blaziken, complementary core as they can handle bulky Water-types like the likes of Toxapex, Slowbro, and Tapu Fini, Not only are these covered in the prior paragraph, and not only is this list a repetition of "bulky Water-types", but also, readers can make the connection. can able to overwhelm shared checks answers like Zapdos and Dragonite;, punc these Grass-types also provide Knock Off to remove Heavy-Duty Boots from these Pokemon. particularly by removing their Heavy Duty Boots. Notably, "Especially" and "notable" have the same meaning here. Rillaboom is especially notable, as it summons Grassy Terrain to weaken the damage that Blaziken takes from Earthquake and let it slowly heal off the recoil damage taken from Flare Blitz and Life Orb. (both) some relevant HP recovery and that reduced effectiveness of Earthquake. The damage is not weakened, Earthquake is. In return, Connect ideas while varying the beginning of sentences. Blaziken handles (both) Buzzwole and Steel-types Readers can see. the likes of Melmetal, Ferrothorn, and Flame Body Heatran. moved from below in order to make the connection with Grass-type complements Weavile enjoys Blaziken's ability those same benefits "its ability" here would imply Weavile's capacity while handles handling the likes of Slowbro, smashes smashing through Ground-types like Landorus-T, Garchomp, and Hippowdon, and revenge kills chasing away Dragon-types like the likes of Dragonite and Dragapult,. punc. The last two verbs do not account for the opponent's choice; both also basically mean "Weavile is faster and its attacks are super effective," yet readers know that. (Only if following this note, then try instead, Weavile enjoys those same benefits while forming another complementary core.) and enjoys Blaziken's ability to handle Buzzwole and Steel-types like Melmetal, Ferrothorn, and Flame Body Heatran. moved above Dragon-type sweepers like Garchomp, Dragonite, and Dragapult form a solid core with Blaziken, as they can overwhelm shared checks like Tapu Fini and Slowbro for the other to clean up late-game, and these Dragon-types enjoy the removal of Weavile and Ground-immune Steel-types like Corviknight and Skarmory. moved here from below in order clearly to distinguish sections of the paragraph A final core to overwhelm the likes of Tapu Fini and Slowbro meaning of overwhelm previously established can be formed with Dragon-types, which likewise enjoy the removal of (opposing) Weavile, Corviknight, and Skarmory. This is an excellent place for a paragraph break. Pivots like Tapu Koko, Tornadus-T, Landorus-T, and Slowbro are also helpful; Tapu Koko and Tornadus-T can bring Blaziken in with a fast Volt Switch and U-turn, while Landorus-T and Slowbro utilize a slow U-turn and Teleport, respectively, to make up for Blaziken's frailty and below-average Speed. moved here from below, not only because it is more general support, but also because its relocation shows the connection between support from either Slowbro or Tapu Fini, below Those low-risk entries onto the field brought by the likes of Tapu Koko, Tornadus-T, Landorus-T, and Slowbro make up either for Blaziken's frailty or for its below average Speed, depending on the Speed of the teammate. For its weaknesses to both Tapu Fini and Aqua Jet from Urshifu-R, it [verbs] Tapu Lele, especially those whose Choice Scarf and Future Sight also apply heavy pressure to Dragon-types and Toxapex, respectively; likewise, it also [(same) verbs] Slowbro. Pivots like Tapu Koko, Tornadus-T, Landorus-T, and Slowbro are also helpful; Tapu Koko and Tornadus-T can bring Blaziken in with a fast Volt Switch and U-turn, while Landorus-T and Slowbro utilize a slow U-turn and Teleport, respectively, to make up for Blaziken's frailty and below-average Speed. here again in its original location for reference Additionally, Slowbro puts heavy pressure on checks like Toxapex and Dragonite with Future Sight, allowing it and Blaziken to overcome them together. moved to the same points on Tapu Lele, above Tapu Fini checks Urshifu-R, switches into Scale Shot variants of Garchomp to prevent them from sweeping in a pinch, and summons Misty Terrain, allowing Blaziken to set up more easily without being bothered by brings both similarly sturdy type complements and an oppressive immunity to status ailments. did not mention Garchomp, because Tapu Fini is said to be a pinch option On hyper offense teams, a dedicated lead like Mew is greatly beneficial, as it can stop entry hazards from being set up with its fast Taunt while setting up hazards of its own. (Less common,) more active partners introduce this subsection, because the paragraph is quite long; this is another great place to accommodate readers with a paragraph break like Mew with both Stealth Rock and Spikes; Alolan Ninetales with Aurora Veil, Hypnosis, and Encore; and Torkoal with the likes of Venusaur can each provide devastatingly fast-paced dedicated support—Venusaur in particular forms yet another overwhelming core against Dragon-types and Landorus-T. Torkoal and Venusaur brought from below. Again, readers know that their Fire-type is weak to Water-types, and that a Grass-type would be therefore nice. Dragon-type sweepers like Garchomp, Dragonite, and Dragapult form a solid core with Blaziken, as they can overwhelm shared checks like Tapu Fini and Slowbro for the other to clean up late-game, and these Dragon-types enjoy the removal of Weavile and Ground-immune Steel-types like Corviknight and Skarmory. moved to the other attack type complements, just after Weavile, above On sun teams, Torkoal is a mandatory partner, as the sun it provides turns Flare Blitz into a devastating tool that can cleave through defensive structures with ease. Venusaur is another solid partner on these teams, as it can bowl over Water-types that give Blaziken trouble like Tapu Fini, Urshifu-R, and Slowbro, and forces damage against Ground-types like Landorus-T and shared Dragon-type checks like Dragapult and Dragonite for Blaziken to clean up later and vice versa. combined with Mew and Alolan Ninetales, just above
