Offensive Zapdos doubles down on its high Special Attack and great typing to punch holes into teams while maintaining much of its defensive utility. The combination of Thunderbolt, Hurricane, and Heat Wave is excellent coverage; Zapdos's powerful Hurricane lets it blow past the bulky Ground-types like Landorus-T and Colossoil that might want to switch into an expected Thunderbolt, while Heat Wave lets Zapdos answer Steel-types like Ferrothorn and Melmetal that may otherwise prove annoying. Zapdos is commonly run on rain teams, in which case Thunder and Weather Ball can be easily substituted over Thunderbolt and Heat Wave, respectively. A Timid nature is preferred to always outspeed Urshifu-R and Choice Specs Tapu Lele.

Maxing out on offensive power leaves Zapdos unable to check Pokemon like Cawmodore, Venomicon-E, and Kartana, so it needs partners that can deal with those threats; Dragapult, Slowbro, and Buzzwole are good teammates to answer those Pokemon, respectively, with the former two also able to pivot Zapdos onto the field to start firing off powerful attacks. Offensive Zapdos is still a strong check to other Steel-types like Melmetal, Equilibra, and Ferrothorn, which teammates like Tapu Lele and Weavile appreciate having answered. Grass- and Ground-types like Kartana, Landorus-T, and Garchomp greatly appreciate Zapdos's ability to check bulky Flying-types like Corviknight and Tornadus-T. Finally, Zapdos fits quite well on rain teams, so partners such as Pelipper and Barraskewda are highly effective teammates, both of which are able to pivot Zapdos onto the field with U-turn and Flip Turn, respectively.

Grass- and Ground-types Pokemon (fixing consistency since you primarily use "[type]-types" rather than "[type]-type Pokemon" here) like Kartana, Landorus-T, and Garchomp greatly appreciate Zapdos's ability to check bulky Flying-types like Corviknight and Tornadus-T. Finally, Zapdos fits quite well on rain teams, (AC) so partners such as Pelipper and Barraskewda are highly effective teammates, both of which are able to pivot Zapdos onto the field with U-turn and Flip Turn, respectively.
