Official Halo 3 Thread

I'm definitely down for social, Diesel. That's pretty much all I play. I managed a 43 in about 250 games, and a few of those games were in other playlists than what I have my 43 in. I have it in Team Slayer, but I play Snipes sometimes, and on the rare occasion SWAT (although I fucking hate it, friends always want to play it).

I also thought you guys might be interested in this.

It's mine, before you ask. The quality is kind of shitty, but my cap card is also kind of shitty, so I guess it makes sense. I tried about 3 songs before choosing that one, and Youtube now matches copyrighted audio files apparently, so you can't put up the song if it's copyrighted.

Eh, hopefully the few of you that play Halo here can enjoy it.

Wow Ben, you make montages too?! The thought of a possible Smogon Community tage makes my loins tremble with excitement. I haven't made a tage of my own, but I've seen hundreds of them, and hope to make my own soon. I'm about to start capping a bunch of clips. Hope to see you on soon!
 
I just got Halo3 a few weeks ago since my friend irl persuaded me to get it, and have mainly been playing in the MLG playlist(Since I want to get pretty good quickly) and having him help me since he's a semi pro in MLG. I guess I've made some progress, but I'm not really too good yet. If you guys want to add me feel free.

BlueCookies - Oh I didn't mean his exact GT or anything, I just wanted to know if I recognized the name, like Walshy or T2 or something, since I know a lot of semi-pro players. I didn't mean play with him.

Bentendo - Yea at the moment I do, I'm borrowing my friend's, it's pretty nice.

Is it a Dazzle?
 
It's a Pyro. I probs won't be on for a significant amount of time the next couple days, but I will be on Saturday. Anyone who wants to play with me should add me.
 
Think I could see an example of the quality? D: I'm very disappointed with the quality on the Dazzle. Perhaps it was the file format. I actually kind of doubt that, but who knows? I think I saved it in either AVI or MPEG, or MPEG-2.

I also might buy an HD TV and an HD cap card too if I get this job I've been looking after.
 
Yea, here's a video of the friend I was borrowing it from. I'm not sure you can really judge the quality of the card based on the YouTube quality. All I know is I've seen it in action and it's very nice. Probably better than the TV I play on, haha.

And that would be sick if you got that. Those HD cap cards are a shitload though, lol.

Wow, that's pretty good. Luckily, the prices for HD TVs are going down. If I get the job, I'd be making around $300 a week, working 1-2 days a week (Saturday/Sunday). So in a few weeks, I'd have enough for an HD TV and a high quality cap card as well.

I guess I can begin gathering clips for another montage in the meantime. :P
 
Damn, sounds like good pay.

I've decided to cap most of my clips (those I have here at school) on Saturday. Then I'll probably put them all in one unedited YouTube vid to test quality and show people. I'll post that here if I manage that. Now you've got me all excited to play, which I probably can't do till Saturday. D:

Sounds great, I can't wait to see them. :) Also that Extermination in Big Team was pretty crazy. o.O
 
Wow Ben, that actually kicks the fuck out of my pay :(. With that said, I now suck at mlg for some odd reason, can anyone suggest another playlist that doesn't bore the crap out of me? Seriously, I'm clueless and social games tend to be too easy >_>.

Other than that, I've been trying to make a map that can be used for most gametypes on Sandtrap using the grav lift drop pod elephant flying thing. Ugh, me and my guests managed to get it to fly but... it pretty much does the same thing, tilt to the right and fall and it just fucks up after it gets flipped. But... anyway imagine raiding a flying elephant, taking a flag, jumping off and taking it back, then you have what that map used to be before it messed up ;(.

You can download that sort of thing somewhere, I know I've seen it before.

Just improve your K/D in social. Or Big Team is full of some lols.

That map has really kept my free 2 or so hours after hanging out school at bay x_x. Meh I'll just go find that map and put a few things there. But dammit, the flight was so smooth a few days ago, now it sucks :(.

I guess I'll try BTB for a while, then. Maybe some Snipes since I've been getting rusty with it, anyway.

Be careful in BTB though. You might run into a few teams of 8 generals that have been playing together for a while. They'll score two flags and proceed to wipe the floor with you until there's about 20 seconds left, and then score. Other than that, BTB is pretty fun in my opinion.
 
Darkerkrai - I have a map like that, made by a friend, but the Elephant is full of fusion coils and just flops around the sky like a fish out of water. We also put weapons and vehicles in it so they rain down on the map, it's kinda sweet. Also, make sure you play the map in a custom, since the physics in forge can be different than in regular play depending on what you're doing.
 
@Ben- Yeah, I managed to be swarmed with 48s, 45s, 50s and just boosters in Squad Battle but, the larger maps and teams just seem much more fun in the long run.

@Deisel- I meant the flying elephant without explosions that uses two drop pods and a grav lift, it's much less messier and much more better for TS, Assult, CTF, etc. I managed to keep it steady but my damn karma kicked in as I was testing the CTF version of the map.
