Official Nickname Thread

Before I ran out of common words, my Pokemon had a generic medieval swords-and-sorcery theme...

Torterra - Monarch
Alakazam - Diplomat
Luxray - Duchess
Ponyta - Princess
Umbreon - Jester
Starmie - Wizard
Blissey - Cleric
Bibarel (HM) - Handmaid
Skarmory (HM) - Messenger
Lucario #1 - Knight
Lucario #2 - Chancellor
Gallade #1 - Gallant
Gallade #2 - Duelist
Salamence #1 - Destroyer
Salamence #2 - Eradicator (these play the dragons knights are known for slaying)

Once I had run out of words, things became more random...
Lucario #3 - Valkyrie
Metagross - Juggernaut
Dusknoir - Apparition
Drifblim - Hindenburg (hey, that blimp Explode'd didn't it?)
 
Several of my Pokemon have been nicknamed, but rarely anyone gets the references. If anyone gets any of the references, or at least Starmie's, I'll be freakin' happy. Not like it's gonna happen, though.

Magnezone - Ark Maxim
Jolteon - Ohm
Salamence - Crocodile
Skarmory - Blueno
Starmie - Frankie
Electivire - Calgara
Gengar - Norland

Clefable: Nomoves (A referance to my clefable from blue version, evolved it at lv15 and wondered why it never learned metronome lol)

How about using a DD mence holding lum berry and nicknamed "CSpecs" or "DracoUser"? Lame names but hey, it's two free dragon dances if the opponent falls for it and switches in Blissey. Then again, most people already auto-switch in Blissey vs Salamence no matter what its name is so I'm not sure if this strategy is really that useful.

From the obvious Godzilla references, I am going to assume that you ment Rodan. I'm glad to have a pokemon named after me. :D

I have a Volbeat named Romeo and an Illumise named Juilet.

Whoops sorry, it was 2 in the morning at the time of that post and speaking of Godzilla related things, in one movie Rodan was referred to as "Radon" which kinda sounds gay.

Personally, I like doing something like nicknaming Tangrowth Rapidash (or any other fire poke), causing a switch to a water type and OHKOing said water type with Tangrowth.

Yeah, I get it, but I don't really get the last two, Electivire and Gengar. I'd think that Enel and Blackbeard would be better-fitting...


As for me... well, not that great, but for my in-game team that took me to the E4:
Empoleon "Dynamite"
Golem "Astaroth"
Carnivine "Petey"
Drapion "Shelob"

And, although it may be from way back in Red version, my friend has pretty much everybody here beaten as far as poke-funnies go. Choosing Squirtle, he named himself CptJack, his rival Barbosa, and the Squirtle "The Pearl". CptJack surfing on The Pearl, cannons and all XD
 
Well my CB team on Netbattle has all their names backwards...and my TSS team is all called THIS IS SPARTA...and some of my pokemon have different names, like my Sceptile being called Alakazam, and Staraptor is called Swellow.

Just FYI that's not allowed in official Nintendo tournaments for whatever reason.
