This is my Mono-Steel team. It's one of my most sucessful teams, since it was my best on ladder, although it only got me to the low 1400s. I'm hoping for ways to improve it so it'll be better for me to use. I use lots of prediction while using this team...
Bronze (Bronzong) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/152 Atk/8 Def/96 SDef
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Gyro Ball
- Stealth Rock
- Hypnosis
- Earthquake
---
My favourite lead. Bronzong sets up Stealth Rock, puts things to sleep, and slightly hurts the opponent. Gyro Ball hurts Mamoswines a little, and also hurts Deoxys-E, Aerodactyl, Azelf, Weavile, Gengar or any other fast leads. If it's paralysed, it damages Bliss pretty badly. Earthquake is for sleeping Lucarios, or Magnezones if they don't Rise.
---
Penguin (Empoleon) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 40 HP/216 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Agility
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Grass Knot
---
Empoleon, I use this set and it sweeps a few teams without something like a Yache Chomp, Blissey or Celebi. Other strong Special Defensive walls with a move like Thunder Wave hinder it too.
---
Volcano (Heatran) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 20 HP/236 Spd/252 SAtk
Mild nature (+SAtk, -Def)
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Explosion
- Fire Blast
---
ScarfTran, my revenge killer. It has slight synergy with Zong, only it's Water and Fighting weaknesses aren't resisted. It takes Fire attacks for my team, stopping Infernapes and killing non-Yache or ScarfChomps too.
---
Dog Warrior (Lucario) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Swords Dance
- Stone Edge/Crunch
- Extremespeed
---
This fighter comes in after Zong Stealth Rocks if the opponent didn't switch. It sweeps alot of teams without Weezing, Defensive Celebi,Gengar or Mismagius. Gengar and Mismagius hit it hard with Hidden Power Fighting or Focus Blast, while Celebi can paralyze it, then hit Luke semi-hard with Psychic, or get a revenge killer to finish Luke.
---
Steel Snake (Steelix) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP/120 Atk/136 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Toxic
- Explosion
- Taunt
---
My best way to stop Blissey other than Luke. It's walled by Gengar, but hurts some other pokemon. If Blissey's trainer thinks they can set up Stealth Rock in Steelix's face, then I explode and Bliss is dead. Taunt helps against Garchomp, even though it only "revenge kills" if it doesn't switch. Steelix is 2HKOed by EQ normally, so a boosted one would hurt...alot. Explosion would OHKO Garchomp fortunately though.
---
Star (Jirachi) @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 240 HP/56 Atk/136 Spd/76 SDef
Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Wish
- U-turn
- Zen Headbutt
- Thunder
---
My wisher, I never really use Wish much though, since usually I try to use it's haxxing powers in Thunder and Zen Headbutt for paraflinch. Thunder is my biggest chance against Gyara without having one of my pokemon dying in the process. Zen Headbutt hurts things like Heracross or Infernape. But only Infernape if they Close Combat expecting a Tran switch.
This is my mono-steel team.
