How this works

There will be between 6 teams this year. Each team will have 6 starters and at least 3 subs (minimum roster size of 9). The players are bought using the 100k credits that managers receive during the auction. Managers and co-managers will be allowed to purchase themselves as players for their team at a fixed price of 13.5k. The managers must inform the hosts (BoingK, Akeras and velvet) of all self-purchases before the beginning of the auction. Teams can win their weekly matchups by winning 4 of the 6 matches their players have to play. Players listed on an OMPL roster will not be allowed to play but may still manage a team. Those managing an OMPL team will not be allowed to play or manage.

It is recommended that all games are played on SmogTours with the current version of the format corresponding to those listed above. Games can be played on the Pokemon Showdown main server if and only if both players agree, but run a higher risk of interference from server restarts/crashes. The result between players may be decided in a best-of-one or best-of-three at both players' discretion. If there is no agreement, the result will decided in a Bo1 by default.
Points will be awarded according to the result in a week: a win is 2 points, a draw is 1 point, and a loss awards no points. In addition, the manner in which the round has been won will also be recorded, i.e. the difference between a team's wins and losses in a specific week's round (referred to as "Win Differential").

Playoffs:
Each team will play one another in a round-robin regular season format. Based on the final standings, the top 4 teams will enter the knockout phase of the tournament, with the semi-finals consisting of the first seed playing the fourth seed, and the second seed playing the third seed. Finals will then consist of the winners of each semi-final draw.

Tiebreaker

In the event of two teams being tied for a spot in the finals based on points and win differential, or there is a tie in the final round itself, we will have a tiebreaker round(s).
Tiebreak Procedure:
Both teams submit three strike choices, ranked. The hosts process both lists at the same time until we end up with three metas (if both of them strike the same meta at some point) or more likely, four unstruck metas. If there are four, the hosts randomly pick three of the four for tiebreaker.

Substitutes

Substitutes are to be used in the case of extenuating circumstances, whether on the first day of the week, or the last. At the same time, players should be relatively well-aware of who all are available to play in the opponent's camp. If last-minute substitutes are being frequently used or abused and the hosts find explanations unsatisfactory, the hosts still reserve the right to veto them. Teams are only granted a maximum of two substitutes per week to prevent the abuse of substitutions. Any substitutions after the second will be vetoed.

Welcome to the semi-finals! Congratulations to all the teams that have made it this far - we are all looking forward to some great gaming!
  • Follow all rules listed here.
  • Schedule via Smogon VMs. It's easier for me to make decisions for activity calls when I can actually see what went down with scheduling.
  • If you are unable to schedule with your opponent, please let your managers know ASAP so they can communicate that to me or the other team's managers for a potential substitute.
  • Substitutions may be made after a week has started. When making a substitution, please tag myself, the managers of the opposing team, and all of the players affected by the substitute to ensure that everyone is made aware. Players who have already played in the week or were subbed out in the same week cannot be subbed back in.
  • If a match remains incomplete by the time of the deadline, it will be subject to an activity call.
  • Replays are mandatory. Not only are they useful for confirming wins, they contribute to usage stats and allow the people who couldn't watch the games live to watch them later.
  • Managers: Please send me your lineups in the same format that I used to post pairings. It makes it much easier to post future rounds more quickly.

Welcome back to the Annual BH Reviews!, This was the Final Week before the playoffs and had some of the Better players resting, however we still got a great show of games! quite a bit longer reviews this time.

:Psyduck: Fluore vs Treeko928 :Spectrier:
:Ho-Oh: :Arceus-ground: :Miraidon: :Chansey: :Audino-Mega: :Celesteela: vs :Necrozma-Ultra: :Arceus-Ground: :Ho-Oh: :Dialga-Origin: :Audino-Mega::Lunala:
On Preview both teams look to be a bit similar, with both players running the core of Arceus-Ground, Mega Audino, and Ho-Oh however Fluore's Mega Audino is lvl 99 to underspeed opposing Mega Audino, Fluore is running possibly an Mglo Miraidon set and probably Fc Celesteela, while Treeko is running Ultra Necrozma, Lunala, and Dialga-O instead making him have a more bulky offense team, this Mu does look pretty fair but i think Treeko has the edge due to the sheer force of Necrozma-Ultra (get the pun? :D) and Fluore doesnt have a clear way to breakthrough the team besides maybe being able to setup with Groundceus

Match Starts with Fluore revealing to be Prim Sea Celesteela, which at that moment was strange since it doesnt actually help with anything as far we know currently, moving on both players exchange knocks, on celesteela's leftovers and Dialga-O's Assault Vest, Dialga-O tries to setup rocks while fluore switches in his Mega Audino with Rapid spin, however Treeko forces it out with doom derise and gets up the rocks, making fluore go into Ho-oh, who reveals Swords Dance and Bitter Blade, revealing to be p much triage (later on cemented with the reveal of Horn leech), this also tells us why Celesteela was Prim Sea however it still is unusual of a set. Treeko just switches in his Lunala however which walls it and manages to severely weaken and paralyze it, it also manages to paralyze the incoming Imposter a few turns later before switching out to Groundceus on the Mega Audino Switch-In.

Couple More turns of switching untill on Turn 21 when Arceus-Ground tries to setup on the incoming Ho-Oh, who reveals to be Vdance, unfortunately for Fluore he tries to Sap the Ho-oh who is revealed to be the Clear Amulet Bulky setup sweeper set, Fluore does manage to however force it out with Steela however this allows for Ultra Necrozma to come in a bit later on pick up the KO on the Celesteela, which makes the aforementioned Ho-Oh p much unwinnable against if played right since only Miraidon can temporarily hold it back. Few turns later on Fluore Tries to Setup with his Miraidon but Treeko's Groundceus just walls it and manages to beat it in a 1v1, letting Ho-Oh come in on the Switched in Groundceus from Fluore, which manages to Trap Imposter with Spirit Shackle and let this battle end on Turn 69, letting treeko get the clean sweep. Overall a pretty enjoyable battle but i really didnt like how Fluore played + his team wasnt that good overall, as for records this makes Treeko have a nice 1-0 in BH, while Fluore's Record is 2-3 going into Poffs.

:Garganacl: Damflame 3 vs MagearnaTheBoss :Pichu:
:Chansey: :Celesteela: :Arceus-Poison: :Audino-Mega: :Ting-lu: :Kyogre-primal: vs :Kyogre-primal: :Koraidon: :Arceus-Ghost: :Audino-Mega: :Greninja-ash: :Blaziken-Mega:
interesting match, so we (i.e Dam) didnt cook much this week so he decided to run a team given by one of our managers consisting of p much a stall team with Regenerator Steela, Non setup magma storm FC Poisonceus, Fc Ting-Lu and Scales Audino-Mega with Haze, and another Regen mon in RegenVest Kyogre-Primal. Meanwhile, Mtb is running a team consisting of probably Tlens Blaziken, FC Ghostceus, RegenVest Kyogre, Scales Mega Aud, MGLO Koraidon, and ofc the Sniper Greninja, this mu does look to be quite even as MTB doesnt have a clear way to breakthrough the defensive structure of Dam while Dam cant do much against MTB's team and will try to hazardspam and stall it out. (Ngl how do u narrate a stallish game and make it interesting..)

Match starts with Dam getting off Poison on the Opposing Kyogre while MTB's Aud manages to knock the av from Dam's Kyogre, they both then try to shuffle around for a few turns, letting Dam slowly chip the regen Kyogre, untill the Ghostceus tries to setup, first being shut down by Mega Aud and then Ting-lu, Dam is slowly being able to chip down MTB's teams with the hazards set up'd by Kyogre and Ting-lu untill eventually on turn 34 where Mtb sac's his Kyorge to setup Rocks (imo not a good play but w/e) on the incoming Celesteela, before then switching into Mega Blaziken and OHKOING it, which removes one of Dam's key pokemon as it was one of his Spinners, Dam switches in his Poisonceus which takes a bit of chip to Poison the Blaziken-M, before then healing up on the incoming Ash-Greninja, who reveals to have Jungle Healing, after a bit of shuffling MTb goes into his Koraidon, which forces Dam back to Poisonceus.

Mtb's Koraidon reveals to be Non-Mglo but Sd rocky helmet with tarrows, gigaton hammer, and Sap, who does manage to kind of Breakthrough Dam's PoisonCeus however Dam just Sap's it and switches into his Imp, another couple of attempts of Ghostceus trying to setup but being shut down leads to Dam being in his Ting-lu while Mtb is trying to regain Hp on his Mega Aud but Precipice Blades does manage to shut this down with the Poison Chip, forcing Mtb to teleport with his weakened Audino-m into his Ash-G, who manages to do over 50% to Ting-Lu but gets finised off easily, Blaziken-m then just dies due to hazard chip and Koraidon comes in and tries to Sap the Ting-Lu, baiting triple arrows, but Dam just switches to Poisonceus who 1v1's and beats the Koraidon, p much sealing this endgame as Ghostceus is walled by most of Dam's team and Mega Aud cant do much, after 30 turns the Ghostceus gets PP Stalled and killed, and Mtb ff's on turn 105. Dam did really well in this matchup as he really did not make any mistakes, while Mtb tried his best but i think he struggled early on and his team didnt have the best mu into hazard spam, probably only having one spinner in kyogre who died early. as for Records Mtb has a record of 1-3, only winning vs rightclicker in w2, while Dam goes 3-0 in BH, having overall record of 3-2, this win from dam also was the reason that Stoners p much got into Poffs as if Dam had lost we couldve had Tie breaks.

:Oshawott: Oh the Guilt vs Lemonstre1 :Togekiss:
:Chansey: :Ferrothorn: :Ho-oh: :Lunala: :Greninja-Ash: :Magearna: vs :Palkia-Origin: :Magearna: :Chansey: :Audino-Mega: :Steelix-Mega: :Arceus-Water:
On preview both teams look to have an interesting combination of Pokemon, Oh the Guilt is running probably Fc Ferrothorn, Prim Sea Magearna, Magic Guard Ho-Oh, and Scales Lunala (this team was originally created by akira btw), meanwhile Lemon's team seems more interesting running Speed Boost Palkia-O, probably Levitate Magearna, Scales Mega Audino, RegenVest Steelix-M, and Fc Waterceus, this Mu looks to be in the favor of Oh the Guilt as Lunala + Magearna should be able to stop Palkia-O mostly and Ash-greninja can breakthrough Lemon's team pretty easily if not careful.

Match starts off strong with Mega Steelix knocking off Ferrothorn's Rocky Helm while Ferro tries setting Hazards but Steelix-M has Spin and Cure to slowly chip the Ferro, forcing Players to shuffle around untill Oh the guilt's Ash-Greninja reveals to be a special set, Sheer Force Life Orb, and forces Lemon to reveal Water Absorb Magearna, this then forces OtG to switch into Ferro which makes Lemon switch into his Palkia-O who reveals to be a th dynamax Cannon speed boosting set, but this set is p much walled by ferro who then switches out to Lunala to force it out with Glare possibilities, paralyzing the Mega Audino, forcing both players to shuffle a bit again, untill Lemon's Imp reveals OtG's Ho-Oh to be Mbounce, bouncing back the glare from the Lunala who thought that it would switch.

Nothing Much happens for 50+ turns as both players try to setup hazards and setup/ breakthrough with their respective Pokemon, untill on about turn 71 where Ash Greninja reveals Noxious Torque dealing over 60% to the Mega Audino who Teleports, allowing OtG to breakthrough severely damage Lemon's Magearna, Pickoff the Mega Audino, and also beat the Arceus-Water who used Take Heart a turn before even tho OtG had revealed mixed Bolt Strike beforehand, forcing Lemon to force it out with Imp and after on try to setup with his Palkia-O but that just fails since Imp comes in and he cannot risk the 50/50 Speedtie (idt it ohkoed also) so he switches out, later on OtG's Ho-Oh has to be sac'd to the Palkia-O as it was already barely alive and wasnt needed anymore.

Lemon is down two Pokemon and is barely hanging on, trying to chip down the Ash-Gren and force it out with his Poisoned Imp untill about Turn 103 where Ash-Gren gets a prediction right and manages to OHKO the Mega Steelix with Steam Eruption, forcing Imp to come back in but this is just futile as after some Switching with Ferrothorn, Ash-Greninja manages to come back in Safely and while it does miss 2 Bolt Strikes on the previously Switched-In Magearna manages to Ko with Bolt Strike + Fiery Wrath, sealing the game as imp gets chipped by hazards and poisoned falling a turn later, and then on turn 116 OtG's imp comes in and 1v1's the Palkia-O, making this the longest BH game this week. This was a fun battle, and while both players did make MANY questionable plays throughtout i think OtG's team was just super solid and had the clear better Mu here. As for Records, this makes Oh the Guilt have a clean 1-0 going into Poffs, probably will stay 1-0 due to Stolen Identity being free again, meanwhile this makes Lemons record a 1-2 going into poffs
