There are 8 teams this year. Each team will have have 8 players and at least 4 subs. The players are bought using the 100k credits that managers receive during the auction. Managers and co-managers will be allowed to purchase themselves as players for their team at a fixed price of 13.5k. The managers must inform the hosts (berry, UT, and Vertigo) of all self purchases before the beginning of the auction. Teams can win their matchup every week by winning 5 of the 8 matches that their players have to play.
The tier lineup this year is as follows:
  • SV Almost Any Ability
  • SV Balanced Hackmons
  • SV STABmons
  • SV Mix and Mega
  • SV Godly Gift
  • SV Partners in Crime
  • SV Inheritance
  • Best of Three (AAA / STAB / MnM)
It is recommended to play all games on SmogTours in the most current version of the format corresponding to those listed above. Games can be played on the Pokemon Showdown main server, but run higher risk of interference from server restarts/crashes. The result between players may be decided in a best-of-one or best-of-three at the discretion of both players involved. If there is no agreement, the result will decided in a Bo1 by default.
Winning a round rewards a team with 2 points, drawing 1 point, and losing zero points. In addition, the manner in which the round has been won will also be recorded i.e. the difference between a team's wins and losses in a specific week's round (referred to as "Win Differential").
Playoffs:
Each team will play one another for seven weeks. Based on the final standings, the top 4 teams will enter a Playoffs Round to determine the teams appearing in the finals.

Tiebreaker
In the event of two teams being tied for a spot in the finals based on points and win differential, or a tie in the final round itself, we will have a tiebreaker round(s).

Tiebreaker Rules: Both teams submit four strike choices, ranked. The hosts process both lists at the same time until we end up with three metas (if both of them strike the same meta at some point) or more likely, four unstruck metas. If there are four, the hosts randomly pick three of the four for tiebreaker.

Substitutes
Substitutes are to be used in the case of extenuating circumstances, whether on the first day of the week, or the last. At the same time, players should be relatively well-aware of who all are available to play in the opponent's camp. If last minute substitutes are being frequently used or abused and the hosts find explanations unsatisfactory, the hosts still reserve the right to veto them. In order to further prevent this being the case teams are only granted a maximum of two substitutes per week. Any substitutions after the second will be vetoed.

Trades
The hosts have decided to not include trades this year due to reasons outlined in this thread - all roster decisions will be final, so draft carefully!

Scheduling
Scheduling should be done on Smogon Profile walls, plain and simple:
  • If there is communication on only one user's behalf, the win will go to them. Feel free to call activity in this thread beforehand
  • If there is a very healthy back and forth regarding potential times and one user is a no-show, a manager may take the opportunity to sub out the no-show competitor; if this is not done, the user that showed up responsibly will be awarded the win.
TL;DR: Post on your opponent's Smogon wall, schedule your matches, and be reliable. If you can't play for any reason, let your manager know so they can sub you out ASAP.

Sportsmanship
Exhibitions of unsportsmanlike conduct with regards to the Other Metagame Premier League will be met with an infraction at the discretion of the OMPL host/OM mods. This is unlikely to include interactions within a team's private chat unless there is reason found to make an exception. This rule is meant to protect other users from being publicly flamed/bashed/provoked by another competitor for the duration of and following the tournament.
All players must complete their matches by the given deadline. Any incomplete matches by that time will be subject to an activity decision (MAKE SURE YOU POST ON YOUR OPPONENT'S WALL); otherwise, it will be a deadgame. All matches should ideally be done on your most notable alt (the one you registered for OMPL with) to avoid confusion and all match replays must be saved and posted in this thread.

Substitutions & Lineups
Managers, if you wish to make any substitutions, you must post here tagging both the player you're subbing out, the player you're subbing in, the manager and assistant manager of the opposing team, the substitute's opponent, and all of the hosts. This is to assure that everyone is in-the-loop and that the OP is updated accordingly to reflect the new match-up.
Managers, when you send in lineups, please send it in with the tier and Smogon username of each player fully written out for ease of transcription, following these guidelines exactly.

Here's my BH predictions.

BH: aerobee vs augustakira (48 - 52)

PH has been popping off all of OMPL, their time has to come to an end eventually.

BH: Quantum Tesseract vs TTTech (49-51)

I am legally required to bold TTTech this week.

BH: Ivar57 vs Chessking345 (60-40)

As much as I want to bold chessking, he backed out of presumably the easiest win ever last week, so i'm bolding Ivar.

Mister Lake of Ponch, I will do what you asked. I will be controversial

:dubwool: Dubwool Entendres
[100] - [0] Fall Down Darkrais :darkrai:
AAA: Atha vs GlalieGoesBoom - utiliser le pouvoir de la baguette Atha est imparable !!
BH: Quantum Tesseract vs TTTech - TTTech has a lower T / name length ratio
GG: Les2BG vs Ainzcrad - a aussi le pouvoir de la baguette mais n'interdira pas Tera :psycry:
Inh: anaconja vs Career Ended - It's in the name, his career is ended.
MnM: ghostlike vs Bouff - Putain de merde, c'est encore la famille Wiggly ?
PiC: Smudge vs Frixel - pouvoirs magiques français (yeah i'll give you ONE predict darkrais)
STAB: SEA vs Kaif - No one can overcome the SEA.
Bo3: Potatochan vs shiloh - Potatos are important. If potatochan loses, we will no longer have chips. I cannot live with that, therefore potatochan must win

:kyurem-black: Black Diamond Kyurems [3] - [5] W Virizzions :virizzion:
AAA: Stareal vs Sylvi - Sylvi has the W Rizz factor. It's in their team name.
BH: XxLazzerpenguinxX vs cityscapes - PURPLE FROGGGG
GG: entrocefalo vs Taka - Taka was on the latest receiving end of the "Clas is Lucky" show so I expect them to want to smack everyone in their path
Inh: zioziotrip vs Lily - B'fhéidir gur cheart dom éirí as Google Translate a úsáid. Tá Éire fionnuar áfach
MnM: zastra vs pyu - Unfortunately zasNOOB is kind of good at the game
PiC: Chromate vs yuki - apparently yuki threw the game against evie because he had spent too much time playing mtg instead of practicing for his pic game. this is the excuse of a dirty JOHNER and i will be scrapping with you in a london car park to smack some sense into you
STAB: Clementine vs avarice - I like oranges. Clementines are oranges. I like eating oranges.
Bo3: RoFnA vs astralydia - Unfortunately being German does not come with added powers

:manaphy: Heart Takers [5] - [3] Walking Wokes :walking wake:
AAA: hellom vs Kinetic - If you look at their name carefully, what does it actually say? HELL and OM. This guy is satan incarnate and kinetic does not stand a chance
BH: Ivar57 vs Chessking345 - master of the chessboard returns to smack ivar for using a team that gets 6-0d by impostor
GG: Fraise vs Stories - La fraise française est aussi puissante qu'une baguette
Inh: BijouMode vs pannu - Damn ok this one is going to be hype. Bijou has come a long way since the showdown in OMWC finals, and I think he can pull out the sauce. Pannu is a nerd unfortunately
MnM: SpaceSpeakers vs Clas - HAMMOND YOU IDIOT
PiC: HiZo vs Evie - Evie beat yuki, she can beat anyone
STAB: xdRudi.exe vs Fissure - i genuinely don't know who this is but rudi just came in and wiped the stab pool and they'll do it again here. genuinely robotic, maybe we should be scared of ai if a COMPUTER PROGRAM can do this
Bo3: SammyCe123 vs Jrdn - dimension française

Mister Lake of Ponch, I will do what you asked. I will be controversial
Coward. You spit in my face and the face of my family with this. Why did you scribble over my unbelievably original and clever punchline? Do you think this is a game, BoingK? Do you think I'm just going to stand here and allow you to besmirch my name and honor like this on the internet? Think again. I was raised in an honor bound society, deeply rooted in adhering to the Bushido code, in South Texas. It is not uncommon for uncouth vermin such as yourself to be cut down in broad daylight for such egregious acts of disrespect to one's honor here. Pay close attention, BoingK. Next time you're sitting at home or going out somewhere, and you hear an amber alert that says something along the lines of tsunami warning, just know it was me. If you ever wear your fresh new pair of J's to school because the weather was clear that day, only to find that on the way home it started to rain and now the walk back to your place is now all wet and muddy, it was me. I'm on the Weather Machine, BoingK. Mom said it was my turn on the Weather Machine, and every turn I get, I will use it to unleash devastation upon you. You started this fight, BoingK. I'm just finishing it.

GG validation is a bit screwed at the moment, KB should be banned, Zacian-C should be free, and CPao and Bax should be unrestricted. Fortunately cat is a nerd and managed to cook this challenge code up

/challenge godlygift @@@ +Chien-Pao, +Baxcalibur, +Zacian-Crowned, *Zacian-Crowned, -Kyurem-Black <- GG players use this!

Late BH predicts bc I'm busy now. Last week I think I only got 1/3 so it seems my predict luck is running out, since I'm barely analysing player tendencies and going with my gut and feeling.

Quantum Tesseract vs TTTech: I'm a stall enjoyer so I'm predicting TTTech. I'll say one thing though, I hope QT brings some spicy sets this week. The thing is, tttech is not interested in running choiced nukes which gives a lot more freedom in team building imo. I think QT should explore running Taunt or unconventional MG mons because I think they'd work well into what TTTech likes to bring. With that said, I still support stall all the way vs balance though.

XxLazzerpenguinxX vs cityscapes: tbh I'm picking sevag here because I lost to city so I need someone else to beat her for me. In terms of teams, city like to run wack mons which require good mu and skill to make work. I'm hoping sevag can find the hidden algorithm behind city's mon select and win. No hate to city though, if she wins, I wouldn't be upset.

Ivar57 vs Chessking345: The reason I'm picking Ivar here is because chessking was denying Sceptile's viability in the discord. I personally am a Sceptile supporter because the design is funny (looks like a Christmas tree) and it's currently carrying the grass-type representation in the entire BH meta singlehandedly since Kartana got banned. Also I like it because it OHKOs Eternatus which is such a cringe mon. If I'm in Ivar's team I would 100% recommend 4-attack Sceptile with wish support or good picots because you can choose the 4th coverage move to beat common checks. Chessking also likes to bring grounds and dragon types so I think it's a very good mon vs him.

AAA Reviews 1/2 (need to do bo3)

:heatran::corviknight::Swampert::roaring-moon::gholdengo::great-tusk: Betticus IV vs Sylvi :volcarona::deoxys-speed::manaphy::ribombee::iron-treads::chien-pao:
Betti brings standard 6, with a Pert x Tran combo also running a favorite combo of his, Immunity Ability + Scarf Ghold. I would say his sets where pretty guessable, but the mixup with Scarf Ghold was very nice. Most would assume Roaring Moon to be Scarf SOR and Ghold to be defensive + immunity but Betti pulls the switch and makes it Band Moon (assuming on how he played it) and Scarf Ghold which did manage to catch sylvi off guard, but in the end lacking a Scarf Moon made the HO matchup much harder thanks to nothing outspeeding Deo-s.

Sylvi's performances in earlier weeks haven't been the brighest, but they kept it pushing and manged to bring home a dub, good innovation with Pterrain Ribombee instead of the normal Webs setter Prank Smeargle, which enables Slyvi to slap on a bunch of frail mons (weak to dnite) and go crazy with offense. Rest of the team was pretty standard w CP, Volc and Manap but the two outstanders were Ebutton Refrigerate Iron Treads for good hazard removal (over Tusk for better speed tier + typing I presume) and NP Deo-s. Very heat team with relatively good cohesion just struggled a bit with Heatran (couldn't threaten it that well) but fortunately betti chose to sack it instead of Tusk/Corvi. Ngl I think Sylvi had this one in the bag once it was revealed Moon was Banded as it couldn't revenge kill as much and Chien-Pao being a huge threat to Betti's team (Corvi was Immune ability guessing on the way he played it) that Betti had to Sacc Heatran to get a clean switch to Corviknight fearing an SD on the switch. Heatran going down was very big for Sylvi as most of their sweepers where opened up.

:iron-hands::pecharunt::mandibuzz::corviknight::blissey::skarmory: shiloh vs Lana :roaring-moon::great-tusk::Heatran::swampert::zapdos::dragonite:
Rare stall bring by Shiloh, is a bit weird because Iron Hands is the main source of progress rather than stacking hazards which stall tends to lean more into. I assume its immunity spam because there is no Manap/Swampert check and by the looks of it Corviknight is Vabs which is a defensive piece we have seen rise in usage to adapt to the Deo-s sets. Looks like Iron-Hands will be the main progress maker as the Tusk isn't Regen and getting rid of Tusk on a mono removal team is great because you can pressure things like Heatran which look to be a free switch to on most of Shiloh's team members.

Offense by Lana with alot of staple picks, but due to the MU like 1/2 of her team can't really do anything until Iron-Hands is gone. However Heatran and Great-Tusk prove to be great progress makers due to the Skarmory being revealed as Fluffy and Great Tusk as Mold + Offensive. If they can keep the pressure up and the Skarm low they can be in a very good position. Also Heatran is a very good offensive threat into shiloh's team as the Blissey is not Magic Guard and the only thing that can directly remove on Heatran is WBB Mandibuzz. Stalling out Defogs by keeping up Rocks while pressuring the Skarm is a potential wincon for Lana. Game ends up going for like 200 turns and I aint gon cover allat, so here are some important turns:

Turn 39: Iron Hands reveals Ice Punch which is a huge progress maker vs a Zapdos and Tusk.

Turn 77: is when Pecharunt's ability is revealed as Wabs which stops the Pert from gaining free momentum and can chip it out of Regen if it takes other damage.

Turn 79: Mandibuzz is revealed to be WBB for Heatran, but earlier in the game there was some turns where it was implied that Mandibuzz was WBB.

Turn 146: Zapdos gets frozen by an Ice Punch letting Shiloh to start setting up and racking up a bunch of kills.

I would say Lana's matchup was very skewed (outta their favor) but did have some decent ways of making progress such as Great-Tusk which I think could have straight up won if it was Taunt > Ice Spinner. Also they played very well with Heatran constantly making Shiloh fog where it was just a bad PP trade for Shlioh, but Shiloh did stall stuff nothing 2 outta the box. Great plays from both sides and Ithe match may have gone somewhere else without the freeze.

:dragonite::gholdengo::great-tusk::roaring-moon::sandy-shocks::scream-tail: Atha vs Stareal :meowscarada::gliscor::garganacl::iron-moth::corviknight::deoxys-speed:
Very offensive structure from Atha with alot of threats, the team seemed to be very standard until MGLO Tusk and Surge Surfer Ghold was revealed. Gholdengo looks to be like the main breaker this game as there is literally no long term resist to an offensive Ghold here. Atha does have a consistent way to pressure Rocks as Corvi is stareal's only removal and Gliscor literally needs to come in every time Shocks gets sent in. MGLO Tusk is also a big threat as Gliscor cannot wear it down with Spikes and Toxic while Corviknight cannot keep switching in on Rocks taking chip and take hits from a (presumed) Offensive Tusk. Tusk Head Smash > Ice Spinner to not remove Atha's terrain but I think if Ice Spinner was loaded it would have been a 6-0. Dnite is presumably walled by Garg as it commonly runs EE.

Stareal has a rather odd team with 3 weird picks in Meow, Gliscor and Garg. Regen Gliscor is certainly an idea, but it really shows how taxing running a physdef regen mon without pivoting. Meow looks to be their best breaker and its revealed to not be Choiced so its even more threatening. Unfortunately Stareals' team couldn't do much in front of the pressure from Atha had and Surge Surfer stopped revenge killing letting Atha break the team down more. Overall a very tough matchup for Stareal. Possibly was winnable if they managed to get Meow in more but with the pressure of Surge Gholdengo it was very slim.

:heatran::great-tusk::deoxys-speed::scream-tail::manaphy::dragonite: MZ vs frankjosh :gholdengo::roaring-moon::ogerpon-hearthflame::scream-tail::great-tusk::kingambit:

MZ brings an offensive type team but seems very vulnerable to Firepon on frank's team. Especially with Roaring-Moon forcing in a Great Tusk most of the time letting frank collect kill after kill. Cool Deo-s set with Hadron which could have been a threat but MZ never clicked NP/didn't have it so it couldn't break though Scream Tail without dying. Dnite in this matchup looked very good but it getting Knocked so early and no Lorb made its firepower negligible as well as MZ hesitating to click Espeed intro Gholdengo which ended up being (presumed) Scarf. Maybe if MZ managed to get a plot up the game would have been different, but with Firepon's only check being weakened so early and Rocks being kept up it was lights out for MZ.

frank with Firepon team which can break pretty much everything especially with the Firepon + Gambit combo. Looks a bit weak into HadronLorb Deo-s and maybe Heatran if Roaring-Moon is burnt. But with a great lead turn one and great offensiv pressure in Rocks and constant pivot support from Roaring-Moon they managed to get in Firepon with Rocks up and nothing could really stand up to that pressure. This match was more of a teambuilding flaw in my opnion rather than a gameplay perspective but there where great opportunities for both sides but with Firepon + Kingambit's constant pressure I didn't really see MZ coming out with the win.
