On the road to One Hundred (Battle Tower RMT)

Okay, I totally suck at dealing with the Battle Tower. I really do, something ALWAYS has to do this and totally sweep me. I want to reach 100 so I can feel good about myself, because I've done everything else in the game. ):

All right, here we go.

This is a glance at my team.

I wanted to run a bulkier team that can help each other out, and that's why I chose these three.

Drapionback.png

Drapion @ Scope Lens
252 Attack/232 Speed/40 HP
Sniper
Jolly
- Swords Dance
- Aerial Ace
- Brick Break
- Night Slash

Role: Physical Sweeper

Why: Drapion is fast, hits hard, and gets Aerial Ace. I need something fast that can still take some weaker hits, so Drapion fills that role very well. Only weak against Earthquake will allow Latias to come on in and set up. The reason I didn't go bulky with him is that Latias and Registeel is enough for me, and I didn't really think Toxic Spikes are THAT important to me. Oh well. Scope Lens for more hax with Critical hits.

Latiasback.png

Latias @ Leftovers
140 HP/252 Defense/60 Special Defense/58 Special Attack
Levitate
Bold
- Calm Mind
- Dragon Pulse
- Refresh
- Recover

Role: Bulky Special Sweeper/Special Wall-ish thing

Why: The EV spread on this Latias lets it easily take Physical moves that it's not weak to. I just thought the Special Defense can come from Calm Mind, really. Refresh is for removing bad statii, and Recover for healing. STAB Dragon Pulse should hurt a lot of things. It's sad that Soul Dew is banned, but I can see why. Also, this EV spread allows her defenses be 336/306/310 (HP/Defense/Special Defense) before a Calm Mind, which isn't bad, I guess.
--------------------------------------------------------
Registeelback.png

Registeel @ Shed Shell
252 HP/58 Defense/200 Special Defense
Clear Body
Relaxed
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Seismic Toss
- Shadow Claw

Role: Resttalker, Tank

Why: Registeel is my second favorite Regi, after Regigigas. I wanted to use this to use his great tanking ability, as well as using Resttalking to my advantage. He can switch into a status effect, and Rest it off. He also helps Latias with her weaknesses, resisting all of them. Seismic Toss because he has absolutely no offense to work with, and Shadow Claw for Ghosts that are immune to Seismic Toss. Shed Shell because I don't want random Dugtrio/Trapnich happy time. Registeel doesn't like Random Dugtrio/Trapnich happy time. ):
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, this is my team. Drapion, Latias, and Registeel.

Help, suggestions, etc.?

The best way to EV your Latias would be to maximize HP and put 200 EVs in Defense; the remaining 56 are available for Special Attack. This is better than your current spread because HP EVs count towards both defenses, so maximizing HP before splitting your EVs into defenses increases the overall defensive ability of Pokemon with stat spreads like Latias.

For such a defensively orientated team, you've got a lot of problem Pokemon.

Metagross Adamant Quick Claw Meteor Mash Earthquake Zen Headbutt Arm Hammer HP/Atk

You don't really have a way to deal with him, and he hits all your team for heavy damage.

Garchomp Jolly Focus Sash Earthquake Dragon Claw Fire Fang Crunch Atk/Speed

Outspeeds your whole team and hits them all for super effective STAB damage, with a Focus Sash thrown in there to make things even more bothersome.

Salamence Jolly Yache Berry Dragon Claw Earthquake Aerial Ace Dragon Dance Atk/Speed

Self-explanatory. You're finished if this one pops up against someone other than Latias. There's also a defensive Gyarados with Ice Fang who could cause problems.

I find that a BT team is more likely to be successful if it's further down the offensive route. The longer you try to stall, the more susceptible you are to a fatal critical hit...Registeel seems to bring the least to this team, so I'd consider slapping a Gyarados over him. Either the bulky route or Life Orb route should do just fine, but he should be able to reduce your weakness to the above Pokes as well as offer another instant sweeping threat. I'd also prefer Earthquake over Brick Break/Aerial Ace on Drapion just for the slightly better coverage and ability to OHKO things like Metagross after a SD.

Battle Tower? I know a couple Pokemon that can mess up your team:

Walrein @ Focus Sash
Sheer Cold
Surf
Ice Beam
-something-

Crawdaunt @ Focus Sash
Guillotine
Waterfall
Night Slash
-something-

and so on...I hate them too, but I use a Double Team Shuckle just for them. 33% accuracy isn't much, but if you wanna reach 100 (700 battles), it's a statistical evidence that one will hit you hard. If you meet 20 OHKOers on the way to the 100th battle, you'll have 0.025 % chance of never getting hit.
