Shift Gear allows Hoopa-U to outrun the entire tier after a boost, and it increases its damage output to levels able to OHKO Arceus. Grass Knot hits Ting-Lu, Dondozo, and Arceus-Water, bypassing Fur Coat. Hoopa-U's best fit is on offensive teams that appreciate its sweeping potential and nearly unmatched stallbreaking ability. Zacian-C and Groudon are good teammates, as they help weaken the Fur Coat Arceus formes that aren't vulnerable to Hoopa-U, such as Arceus-Fire and Arceus-Fairy, helping enable its sweep. Tera Dark removes Hoopa-U's 4x weakness to U-turn and also increases Wicked Blow's damage, whereas Tera Fire boosts V-create's damage and potentially allows Hoopa-U to set up in front of Arceus-Fairy. Imposter-proofing requires a Fur Coat user, normally an Arceus forme like Arceus-Fire; however, if the Imposter user lacks Eviolite, then they must be wary of an OHKO if Hoopa-U moves first.
