Dragonite @ Lum Berry
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 192 HP / 64 Atk / 12 SpD / 240 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Claw
- Roost
- Earthquake
- Dragon Dance
Dragonite is a terrifying sweeper in ORAS thanks to its fantastic Attack stat, Multiscale, and a great defensive typing that allows it to check prominent hyper offense wallbreakers in Serperior and Volcarona. Dragon Claw is chosen over Outrage due to the importance of switching moves. After a Dragon Dance, Dragonite can outspeed Weavile, and its Earthquake can consistently 2HKO offensive Mega Altaria and 2HKO defensive variants after Stealth Rock damage. The bulk provided allows Dragonite to withstand a Choice Specs-boosted Draco Meteor from Latios while Multiscale is intact, as well as surviving a Choice Band-boosted Knock Off from Weavile after Stealth Rock. Lum Berry is preferred over Leftovers so that Dragonite can take status moves from Rotom-W and Serperior and switch into Keldeo's Scald. Entry hazard removal is extremely important so that Dragonite can perform at full power. Excadrill can remove entry hazards with Rapid Spin and provide an answer to Fairy-types like Clefable, while Latias can use Defog or provide support with Healing Wish if needed. Magnezone can remove Scizor and Skarmory.
