I’m making the boss call that enough dogpiling has happened.
Instead, I’m quite confused over the host call. It’s astounding that that a player came in to replace mannat for this round after activity had already been given. Then, they rescheduled. Why was the act call even allowed in the first place if the hosts are completely fine with forcing a new match-up in the first place?
I gotta wonder if no drama woulda happened at all if the host stuck by the integrity of the tournament / spirit of the game or whatever and just asked them to make the game happen?
I appreciate all the work hosts do, truly, given all the nonsense they have to put up with. But, I hope that what results from this situation is that hosts stop blindly following rules and precedents and start considering the Context of these situations. Fuck the rules mannat literally had an emergency situation. There should never be a world where “ah, shit. Past decision says I’m not allowed to do anything about it. Oh, well” is a real thing. Make the baws call and say “Sorry this is inconveniencing you. We’re still going to have to ask you to play due to this specific circumstance.”
I doubt an influx of lying will happen, but it’s worth noting that the parties involved here are long time players. Afaik Mannat doesn’t have a history of fudging scheduling, but using context you’ll know that HAXORUS_DAGOD surely hasn’t had 5 medical emergencies in a month’s span (hopefully) to explain why he missed a time. Context + accounting for humanity should be much more valued than they are currently on this site
