Sporting a great Speed tier, high Special Attack stat, and fantastic typing, Choice Specs Keldeo is among the premier wallbreakers throughout the history of ORAS OU. One of Keldeo's most appealing traits is the ability to muscle through its checks and counters by spreading burns via Scald, punishing switch-ins such as Tornadus-T, Mega Latias, Mega Altaria, and Amoonguss. Hydro Pump hits very hard and is problematic to switch-into mid- to late-game, as Pokemon will often already be worn down by Scald. Secret Sword is what makes Keldeo unique from most special attackers, as it is able to do massive damage to Chansey, in addition to being able to hit Water-resistant Pokemon such as Ferrothorn and Rotom-W for massive damage. Hidden Power Grass rounds out Keldeo's coverage to threaten Pokemon such as Gastrodon, Jellicent, and Starmie. Keldeo is also adept at being able to check common sweepers such as Bisharp, Mega Scizor, and Azumarill due to its bulk and typing. Pursuit trappers such as Tyranitar, Weavile, and Mega Metagross are fantastic partners for Keldeo, as they are able to trap and remove Keldeo's common checks such as both Eon twins, Tornadus-T, and Starmie. Pokemon such as Latios, Hydreigon, and Mega Alakazam are able to overwhelm shared checks in the tier, thus able to form a wallbreaking core.
