Resource ORAS OU Simple Questions, Simple Answers MKII (Read the OP First!) (Now with 100% more Rules!!!)

Ok, so I'm creating an offensive team and was wondering the following:
  1. Is ScarfChomp used as much as BulkyChomp?
  2. What is a the usual set for ScarfChomp?
  3. What is a great counter for ScarfChomp?
Any info regarding this would be appreciated. Thanks!
Scarf Chomp has become sort of a rarity since there are other scarfers that are subjectively better. TankChomp has dropped in usage since everyone and their mother are using Sand making Landour-T better as a setter.

Garchomp @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Outrage
- Dragon Claw
- Stone Edge / Rock Slide
- Earthquake

Basic set, Naive and Fire Blast can be can be ran over Outrage or Claw if you want to catch Ferro and Scizor

Counters are anything that can take a hit basically like Clefable or Slowbro. I wouldn't use Scarf Chomp tbh unless your really weak to some stuff like Zard
X or faster things in general Garchomp can only cover.

OK, I was think that it was kinda rare since I haven't really encounter one in a while, but I had to make sure first. I might run Clef in order to catch Zard X. Thanks for the reply man! :]

Clef can't catch Zard X since it takes a mectric ton of damage from Flare Blitz, your best best is Defensive Landorus-T on Offense or more soft checks like Azumarill or Mega Diancie. Garchomp would actually work if it works well with your team structure or a prankster Twaver

My Current members of the team are KyuB and AV Metagross. I'll be keeping those two, but might add Raikou for Skarm and Rotom-W. But, now that I think about it, Defensive Lando-T would be bad for Momentum and SR's.

If I'm running Power Whip and Thunder Wave over Gyro Ball on my Ferrothorn, would an Impish nature with 31 Speed IVs be ideal to outspeed some paralyzed foes? I would assume so, though Ferrothorn's page made no mention of anything like that, so I just felt I could double check here to see if there's anything wrong with that.

If you're not using Gyro Ball just go Impish max speed IVs yes

I messed up my post again. Perhaps I should stop posting on my phone.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is I'm NOT running Gyro Ball. I'm running Power Whip and Thunder Wave.

What are common checks for threats against all out attacker M-Gardevoir and defensive support Ttar ? Curerntly trying to build a team around those twos, but I am not entirely sure how to proceed from that point on since I can't decide which mon to pick to check/switch in for steel types.
Mega Gardevoir really hates Steel-types such as Jirachi, Mega Scizor, and Metagross. Support Tyranitar, when not running Fire Blast, also finds itself weak to Mega Scizor, but its main worries are waters-types, fighting types, and ground-types, examples including Keldeo, Mega Lopunny, and Excadrill.

To cover the Steel weakness, Magnezone can work, as can bulky waters like Slowbro (which can even help with Keldeo, Lop, and Drill) and Electrics like Rotom-W and Zapdos. There are a lot of alternate/other ways to cover threats to garde + ttar: I'd recommend checking our break my team, a project that lets you look at your teams current weaknesses and provides options to cover these. Here's a link to the brmt for your current core. The higher the number, the more of a threat the Pokemon is to your core.

Someone said that chansey can put in work on teams outside of stall. Can you explain me how? I've seen teams like "chansey offence" in my life but I don't consider these teams good. Chansey on teams like that is usually easiest knock off of my life, easiest SD of my life, easiest sacred sword of my life, easiest rocks of my life...

IMO It is too passive to consider it good and it is outcalssed by many thing like lando has better rocks, klefki/thundurus has better yellow magic, clef is beter cleric etc...

Combination of role compression and its ability to cockblock an insane number of Pokémon. Also its completely incomparable to klefki, thundy and lando due to tem filling entirely different roles and the sheer amount of bulk it has over Clef is a pretty big selling point too.

Bit of a random question, but does physical defensive Unaware Clef handle manaphy or is there a spread that it needs? (My current team has a Raikou anyway, but still)

No. It practically needs a specially defensive spread and wish + protect + heal bell to even attempt to stop it

Probably a dumb question, but can Mega Garchomp be used outside of Sand and still work well? I was thinking this because a lot of opposing teams nowadays are Sand offense, and MegaChomp can take advantage of the opponent's Sand and wreak havoc once it gets in safely.

As in fully SDef? Or something like the standard MGuard spread? (252hp/172def/84sdef) TBH, I'm considering that kind of spread to make Rotom-W less of a pain...

i mean, unaware clef shouldn't even be near the kind of teams you would use raikou on in the first place.

it's pretty bad and only good on those stall builds that want the insurance against stuff like manaphy

and to answer BBs question: i wouldn't exactly recommend megachomp despite sand being really common, i would only use it if i know i will definitely have sand. otherwise you're just better off using something like zard x.

i mean, why would you even use it if you aren't using it with sand? just use base chomp with SD and LO. hoping to come across another sand team for true potential isn't the best way to play

Mega Garchomp never has been limited to sand. It's still brutally strong outside of sand, so go nuts with it.

Then should I switch it to MGuard? The thing is I do want a cleric on the team I'm using, but is Wish + Protect + Bell even worth it on MGuard?

no, that set isn't worth it on Mguard. the most effective set is twave / moonblast / softboiled / calm mind. you can tailor the first slot to your teams needs like tbolt, fthrower, encore, etc.

In addition to what gamer boy said, Megachomp has a sizable jump in both special attack and bulk, allowing to become a really devastating wallbreaker for shit like megabro and skarm without having to have an sd or 2 under its belt to do its job properly.
