Swords Dance Gallade as a counter

Gallade @ Life Orb/Lum Berry
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Zen Headbutt
- Knock Off

Gallade can switch into any of Magneton's attacks, thanks to its surprisingly good special defence, as it is at worst 2hko'd, and ohko's with Close Combat. It can even set up if given a free switch into Magneton

252+ SpA Magneton Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Gallade: 135-160 (48.7 - 57.7%) -- 96.9% chance to 2HKO
252+ SpA Magneton Flash Cannon vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Gallade: 120-142 (43.3 - 51.2%) -- 8.2% chance to 2HKO
252+ SpA Magneton Hidden Power Fire vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Gallade: 61-72 (22 - 25.9%) -- 3.9% chance to 4HKO

252 Atk Life Orb Gallade Close Combat vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Eviolite Magneton: 346-408 (143.5 - 169.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Audino-Mega @ Audinite
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 240 HP / 252 SpA / 16 Spe
Modest Nature
- Surf
- Dazzling Gleam
- Healing Wish
- Fire Blast

The nurse, as some people call it, is a really cool mega that provides rather unique support with healing wish and pretty varied coverage. Deserves more use tbh. Discuss!

Alomomola @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 120 HP / 136 Def / 252 SpD
Bold Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Scald
- Toxic

Mega Audino can't do anything to it while Alomomola just sits there and Toxic stall it.

This down here is a crit, just shows that Mola doesn't really care if it stays in.
252+ SpA Mega Audino Dazzling Gleam vs. 120 HP / 252+ SpD Alomomola on a critical hit: 178-211 (35.5 - 42.1%) -- 89.1% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

Jellicent @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 212 Def / 44 Spe
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Will-O-Wisp
- Recover
- Taunt

You pretty much get a free switch-in against any of Megaudino's moves as they do laughable damage due to Jelly's high natural special defense. Nurse can't do anything back as Jelly can recover stall any damage it takes and can Taunt it, preventing it to use Healing Wish.

252+ SpA Mega Audino Dazzling Gleam vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Jellicent: 100-118 (24.7 - 29.2%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery

On the Bat of the Gol Golbat for Counter

042.png

Golbat @ Eviolite
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- Toxic/Taunt
- Defog

There really isnt much to explain here, With toxic Golbat easily counters Audino, with none of Audino's attacks doing no more than 20%. Now with Brave Bird isnt doing much but it's enough damage to be irritating due to Audino's lack of healing. You can run Taunt over Toxic is you want to try and stop it from doing healing wish and just slowly kill it with Brave Birds.

8 Atk Golbat Brave Bird vs. 240 HP / 0 Def Mega Audino: 90-106 (22.1 - 26%) -- 5.6% chance to 4HKO

252+ SpA Mega Audino Fire Blast vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Eviolite Golbat: 56-66 (15.8 - 18.6%) -- possible 6HKO

Also, i feel like i seem to Suggest Golbat a lot recently >.>

Meloetta as a Counter:

Meloetta @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 208 Def / 48 Spe
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Calm Mind
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast

CM Meloetta can stomp all over this set, taking advantage of its low power. Nothing will break its sub on this set, leaving you free to set up all over Mega Audino. That's basically it. Coblur berry could be run, of course, but for the purpose of beating Mega Audino, Lefties is optimal.

Basically Sigilyph tanks everything Audino can throw at it and can CM up in the process and/or Psycho Shift it too. Not really anything else I can say lol

Garbodor as a counter

Garbodor @ Rocky Helmet/Black Sludge
Ability: Aftermath
EVs: 248 HP / 164 Def / 96 Spe
Impish Nature
- Spikes
- Gunk Shot
- Drain Punch / Toxic Spikes
- Pain Split

Garbodor can easily take two Fire Blasts after Stealth Rocks, while it will easily spread its spikes, heal itself with Pain Split and easily threaten Mega-Audino out thanks to Gunk Shot in cunjuction with Pain Split damage.

252+ SpA Mega Audino Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Garbodor: 113-133 (31 - 36.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and 1 layer of Spikes
0 Atk Garbodor Gunk Shot vs. 240 HP / 0 Def Mega Audino: 204-242 (50.1 - 59.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Venusaur @ Life Orb
Ability: Overgrow/Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power [Fire]/Knock Off
- Synthesis

Venusaur as a Check

Venusaur out speeds and 2hkos Audino. However, Audio can 2hko with fire blast, so Venusaur must either switch into a resisted move, or get a free switch in.

252+ SpA Life Orb Venusaur Sludge Bomb vs. 240 HP / 0 SpD Mega Audino: 289-343 (71 - 84.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ SpA Mega Audino Fire Blast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Venusaur: 190-224 (63.1 - 74.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ SpA Mega Audino Dazzling Gleam vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Venusaur: 51-61 (16.9 - 20.2%) -- possible 5HKO

252+ SpA Mega Audino Surf vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Venusaur: 39-46 (12.9 - 15.2%) -- possible 7HKO

diancie.gif

Diancie @ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 236 HP / 252 Def / 20 Spe
Bold Nature
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Calm Mind
- Moonblast

Role: Check

This is a slight tweak to the mono attacking CM set currently in the analysis, with some EVs moved to Speed to outrun this particular Audino set. In addition, due to its bulk, Diancie can come in on any attack not named Surf and start setting up CMs. It needs to set up to do anything though, but after just one CM, Moonblast outdamages Surf, and it can easily wear Audino down due to the latter's lack of recovery. It can also Rest in a pinch if it gets critted or burned or whatever.

0 SpA Diancie Moonblast vs. 240 HP / 0 SpD Mega Audino: 84-100 (20.6 - 24.5%) -- guaranteed 5HKO
252+ SpA Mega Audino Surf vs. 236 HP / 0 SpD Diancie: 110-130 (36.6 - 43.3%) -- 98.8% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

+1 0 SpA Diancie Moonblast vs. 240 HP / 0 SpD Mega Audino: 127-150 (31.2 - 36.8%) -- 76.4% chance to 3HKO
252+ SpA Mega Audino Surf vs. +1 236 HP / 0 SpD Diancie: 74-88 (24.6 - 29.3%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery

Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Aqua Jet
- Waterfall
- Poison Jab

Resists all three moves that M-Audino has, can set up an SD in its face, and then OHKO with P-Jab with SR or just 2HKO with two P-Jabs.

252+ SpA Mega Audino Dazzling Gleam vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Qwilfish: 84-99 (30.9 - 36.5%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Black Sludge recovery

Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Quiet Nature
- Volt Switch
- Knock Off / Aqua Tail
- Flamethrower
- Giga Drain

This mon is easily one of the annoying mons to face thanks to its crazy amount of coverage and how the ladder users will literally run anything on it. The second part is true I swear. Discuss!

Flygon (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Defog
- U-turn / Toxic
- Earthquake
- Roost

Flygon can easily switch into literally any move except for HP Ice and rek Eelektross tbh, except he doesn't exactly have any moves that really damage Eelektross so he just defogs, roosts up any damage, and if you carry Toxic then kill him through that, or U-turn away to get momentum if you want to. You could run an offensive set with like Outrage and it'll do the job nicely but it might be worn down too quickly.

Any flygon set can honestly probably handle any Eel set lacking HP Ice or Ice Punch which are relatively rare moves.

Gallade @ Life Orb
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Drain Punch
- Zen Headbutt
- Knock Off
- Swords Dance

Gallade here is a very nice counter to Eel, Being able to Switch in on a Knock off, and not only take about 40% but also gain a +1 Atk for compensation. Now with Gallade being faster and access to Drain punch, you can hit it and get health back easily and wear him down due to the natural SpD bulk stat of 115.

Gallade > Eelektross

252 Atk Life Orb Gallade Drain Punch vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Eelektross: 187-222 (50 - 59.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+1 252 Atk Life Orb Gallade Drain Punch vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Eelektross: 281-331 (75.1 - 88.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Life Orb Gallade Zen Headbutt vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Eelektross: 199-235 (53.2 - 62.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+1 252 Atk Life Orb Gallade Zen Headbutt vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Eelektross: 298-352 (79.6 - 94.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

0 Atk Eelektross Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Gallade: 112-132 (40.4 - 47.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Quiet Nature / Modest Nature

What's with that Eel set lol

You're not gonna have conducive responses with a funky set like that.

Eel should always be running Volt Switch, and U-turn just doesn't go well with it as a result. Eel's coverage only covers half of the reason why it's annoying to deal with. What makes these coverage options a pain is b/c it's a Volt Switch user that can smash every Ground-type with said coverage (it can't beat them all at once though).

The better Eel set is Volt Switch / Flamethrower / Giga Drain / Hidden Power Ice | Aqua Tail | Knock Off and is what you're going to run into when facing a decent opponent. Thunderbolt doesn't really do all that much as surprising at it seems, especially when its coverage options like HP Ice is allowing it to beat one of the most common Pokemon in the tier, Aqua Tail allowing it to beat Camerupt and OHKO Houndoom after rocks, or Knock Off allowing it to apply pressure to SpD mons by stripping stripping items (like Leftovers, but this is also good for Meloetta), particularly on Pokemon not bothered by its coverage, such as Aromatisse.

To be fair I have grabbed most of the set from the analysis and there is a really small mention of it on the analysis itself (easy to miss and personally never really used it since I tend to pair eelektross with a flygon + water type of sort). I personally like thunderbolt to have a generally consistent response against various flying types like fletch, which is kind of tough to pressure with volt switch alone (hence the u-turn slash alongside thunderbolt to not forfeit momentum). Im not particularly fond of hp ice hitting just one target, as in important as the target is, aqua tail just seem for appealing here.

Really appreciate the feedback (since the set I posted is the set Ive been running out on it the most, volt switch and knock off and the thunderbolt variation) but seeing you pointed out aqua tail as a rather important move I feel this means the analysis itself from this mon could use an update (something to point out on the analysis discussion thread I guess)

Thanks again, adding the aqua tail slash on the set. Main set updated to reflect that.

Emboar @ Choice Band / Charcoal
Ability: Reckless
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Superpower
- Wild Charge
- Sucker Punch

Emboar takes literally any hit from Eelektross and trashes it with Flare Blitz to levels beyond Kanye West after his new album, though it needs to wary of Volt Switch + recoil chipping down on it.

4 Atk Eelektross Aqua Tail vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Emboar: 206-244 (57 - 67.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Eelektross Volt Switch vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Emboar: 154-183 (42.6 - 50.6%) -- 2% chance to 2HKO

252+ Atk Charcoal Reckless Emboar Flare Blitz vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Eelektross: 360-424 (96.2 - 113.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

Scrafty @ Leftovers
Ability: Shed Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- High Jump Kick
- Dragon Dance
- Knock Off
- Iron Head

Similar to what Kab said above about Emboar, Scrafty takes everything Eel can throw at it (not counting the rare DPunch), and proceed to set up all over it. If it does proceed to VS out, then you get a free DD up.

252+ SpA Eelektross Volt Switch vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Scrafty: 96-114 (35.4 - 42%) -- 87.6% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ SpA Eelektross Giga Drain vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Scrafty: 68-81 (25 - 29.8%) -- 0.2% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery

Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 236 HP / 252 Atk / 20 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Claw
- Sucker Punch
- Fire Punch
- Gunk Shot

Role: Counter

It's everybody's favorite RU set, AV Druddigon, which resists most of Eel's moves as well as even tanking HP Ice, and retaliates with either Gunk Shot (always 2HKOs) or Dragon Claw (always 2HKOs after rocks unless you get two min rolls and disregarding Giga Drain recovery).

252+ SpA Eelektross Volt Switch vs. 236 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Druddigon: 39-47 (11 - 13.2%) -- possible 8HKO
252+ SpA Eelektross Giga Drain vs. 236 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Druddigon: 28-33 (7.9 - 9.3%) -- possibly the worst move ever
252+ SpA Eelektross Flamethrower vs. 236 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Druddigon: 34-40 (9.6 - 11.2%) -- possible 9HKO
252+ SpA Eelektross Hidden Power Ice vs. 236 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Druddigon: 90-108 (25.4 - 30.5%) -- guaranteed 4HKO (this is a super effective move, by the way)

Aggron (Tyrantrum) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Head Smash
- Iron Head
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw

Tyrantrum [who should still be S rank, but whatever] is a soft check to Eelektross. It doesn't OHKO, unfortunately, but it can take any of the hits Eel throws its way at least twice.

252 Atk Tyrantrum Head Smash vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Eelektross: 280-331 (74.8 - 88.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ SpA Eelektross Volt Switch vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tyrantrum: 82-97 (26.8 - 31.8%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
0 Atk Eelektross Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tyrantrum: 68-81 (22.2 - 26.5%) -- 19.6% chance to 4HKO
0 Atk Eelektross Aqua Tail vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tyrantrum: 63-75 (20.6 - 24.5%) -- guaranteed 5HKO
252+ SpA Eelektross Flamethrower vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tyrantrum: 35-41 (11.4 - 13.4%) -- possible 8HKO
252+ SpA Eelektross Giga Drain vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tyrantrum: 118-139 (38.6 - 45.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Tyrantrum can come in and force a switch at any given opportunity, and because it's Tyrantrum, your opponent won't have too many good options to switch into.

Gonna extend this round up to next monday to return the thread to its normal schedule.

For now Im just gonna post something:

malamar.png

Malamar is a good counter to eelektross, being able to take advantage of it and every move on eelektross arsenal besides volt switch does very little damage so he can just proceed to superpower and go from there.

252+ SpA Eelektross Volt Switch vs. 248 HP / 108 SpD Malamar: 120-142 (32 - 37.8%) -- 93.5% chance to 3HKO

252+ SpA Eelektross Giga Drain vs. 248 HP / 108 SpD Malamar: 86-102 (22.9 - 27.2%) -- 48.7% chance to 4HKO

252+ SpA Eelektross Flamethrower vs. 248 HP / 108 SpD Malamar: 103-122 (27.4 - 32.5%) -- guaranteed 4HKO

4 Atk Eelektross Knock Off vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Malamar: 59-70 (15.7 - 18.6%) -- possible 6HKO

The rest of the moves do even less, so yeah.
