Rotom-Heat @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 52 Def / 208 Spe
Timid Nature

This set is a pretty simple Rotom set. It's pretty much the same thing as its counterpart Rotom-Wash's (although you never see it in UU) chestoresto set. Allowing it to have relatively reliable recovery with its Chesto Berry and also become a long-term answer to things like Darmanitan, Entei, Infernape, Zapdos, Mega Bee, etc.. The spread allows it to outspeed Jolly Mamoswine and Feraligatr and get a wisp off, severely crippling either of those wallbreakers while maintaining that defensive mindset. But yeah, here's a set that's really rare but solid in UU!

Hey Guys! LittleRunnerXC here bringing you a pretty cool Rotom-Heat set, a supportive one at that. We got....

ELECTROWEB ROTOM-HEAT

rotom-heat.gif

Roasted (Rotom-Heat) @ Passho Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Electroweb
- Light Screen/Will-O-Wisp
- Volt Switch
- Overheat

Okay, so at first glance this looks pretty weird, and it is! But it is a dedicated support. Electroweb is a pretty cool move on Rotom-Heat as it provides speed control and team support, it is like a damaging sticky web, for one mon. This may cripple a mon, and force a switch, which you then can proceed to set up a light screen so you are extremely tanky, and make your teammates tank hits better as well. Overheat is for doing massive damage, and volt switch is for momentum, so this Rotom-Heat can do what it needs to, and then get out of there. Passho berry is also something I tried, and had a lot of fun with! It is a great water lure, and then can slam them with a volt switch, and come out to your counter. It is defensive rotom so it can take hits better and have a better chance to set up and support the team. Will-o-wisp can be ran over Light Screen for shutting down physical threats, and supporting your team as well.

I hope you liked this very SPECIAL Rotom-Heat!

Choice Scarf status spreader Rotom-H

Rotom-Heat @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Toxic
- Will o' Wisp
- Discharge/Thunder Wave
- Hex

The set is simple: max Spe + a beneficial nature + a Choice Scarf to outspeed the opponent thus enabling Rotom-H to inflict a detrimental status; this set pretend to have at least 2 status move alongside Discharge -albeit 30% paralysis is not that reliable- which can finish weakened opponents. Hex is the last move which has a sort of STAB if hits a statused pokemon and is nice to have a high base powered move (65x2) without the drawback of Overheat.

Toxic Spikes support is really appreciated to use Hex more reliably and a spinner/defogger is mandatory if you use Rotom-H because the microwave oven loves to switch-in and out many times throughout the match.

Pain Split

Life Orb pain split is actually a great alternative to the regular choice specs set. Not only do you have the freedom of choice, but you also have the ability to get health back which is really helpful for a pokemon that checks a lot of offensive threats. You can switch into Mamoswine and take the Icicle crash or predict the EQ with ease. The following turn, you don't have to contemplate whether to predict the switch or just overheat because now you can do both. When special walls switch in, you pain split up and volt. EZ PZ. This set is a great momentum grabby as well as a pain in the ass for your enemy. Even though you are life orb, bluffing the specs/scarf is an option. Basically you volt on their incoming ground type and then you bash it with a LO Overheat. They never see it coming, never expect it to hurt that bad. Life Orb Rotom-H is a great pivot for Doublade, Zapdos, and Mamoswine. No longer is this pokemon cursed with mind games and possible switch ins.

Screen Support Rotom-H (Aka Miami HEAT)
logo_for_the_miami_rotom_heat_by_erasthamus-d8mevcj.png

This set capitalizes on Rotom-Heat's ability to switch in on pokemon like Shaymin, Zapdos, Mamoswine, and Crobat, and also capitalizes on the switches a specs/scarf rotom force. This presents a golden opportunity to set up screens, aiding setup for pokemon like Feraligatr (Threatens ground type rotom switchins) and Slurpuff (Threatens hydreigon, a common rotom check).

Rotom-H @ Light Clay
Ability: Levitate
EV's: 248 HP / 120 SpD / 140 Spe OR 248 HP / 248 SpD / 12 Spe
Calm Nature
IV's: 0 Atk
-Volt Switch
-Reflect
-Light Screen
-Pain Split

EV's are optimized, first set is to outspeed 200 speed MToise, who would otherwise outspeed and chunk you with water STAB before you can Volt Switch or get a screen up. Second set is to creep 16 speed cune, for mostly the same reasons. The investment in HP is odd for a Stealth Rock number, and the special defense investment is to take hits from the special side better (as more of Rotom-H's opportunities to switch in come from special attackers). Screens are support, volt switch is for momentum, and pain split is for stealing hp off of switch ins instead of volt switching to set up screens at another time.

cool set imo, vote for it if you agree! Thanks for your time

So I was thinking of Rotom-H sets for here, and I was like, CHOICE BAND... then I'm like "No, I'm an idiot", then I'm like, CHOICE BAND... and then... this happened!

Choice Band Rotom-H

Ability: Levitate
EVS: 252 HP / 248 Spe / 8 SpA
Timid Nature
- TRICK
- Volt Switch
- Overheat
- Will-O-Wisp / Thunder Wave
Basically, this set is used like CB Bronzong, where he Tricks someone into getting locked with a unusable item for them, like locking a Florges in. This set also can stop stuff from setting up, like DD Gatr. Without a Choice Band, Rotom-H is now free to do anything he wants, like crippling the Tricked pokemon, or Volt Switching out. The EVS are for outspeeding base 85's like Nidoking so Rotom-H can lock him in. Pain Split can be used to heal up. Overall, while this set is a bit strange, it can be quite useful if used right, so vote for me if you agree!

I honestly don't see why you would want to run a Choice Band over Specs / Scarf. Band doesn't help Rotom at all. A Scarf is just as useless when Tricked onto something like Florges but it also allows Rotom to function as a revenge killer / fast momentum mon while it still has it.

Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 52 Def / 208 Spe
Timid Nature
- Snatch
- Volt Switch
- Overheat
- Pain Split / Will-o-Wisp

Standard with Snatch over Will-o-wisp, so it can take advantage of bulky mons and beat stall. It also cripples set-up-mons and earns a lot of momentum with the combination of Snatch and Volt Switch. Also it's capable of doing the same as the normal set (at the cost of burns).

In case this was referring to me, I respectfully disagree. I don't think my post was either a one liner or a "fighting" post. I explained my position on why I thought it was a very poor set suggestion without being offensive to the poster. If you stop people from giving constructive criticism on set suggestions, this thread will devolve into a simple "post whatever combination of moves / items you want -> people vote for one good one -> everyone else has no feedback on why their set is gimmicky / didn't win". And I genuinely believe that would reduce the quality of this thread.

Anyway, so my post isn't completely off-topic, I will suggest a set.

- Pain Split
- Will-O-Wisp / Hidden Power Grass

Although Rotom-H is a strange choice imo because it has such a limited statpool and movepool, here is a specially defensive tailored EV spread that still lets it check powerful physical attackers and also pivot into threatening special attackers (and for some reason is not yet reflected in the Strategy Dex). Can come in on pokemon such as Zapdos, Chandelure, Shaymin, Florgres, Aromatisse, scarf Hydreigon and Mega-Ampharos and get a slow V-switch out to your big hitters to retaliate. It is one of the few pokemon that can take on Zapdos regardless of which Hidden Power it is using - LO Tbolt only does 21.7-25.7%. Also avoids the 2HKO from scarf Hydreigon so will let you get in a powerful attacker of your own to regain momentum.

It still retains its ability to check physical attackers with Will-O-Wisp and its good typing - in particular, it still works as one of the few Mamoswine counters despite not outspeeding with this set. Also it retains enough bulk to avoid 2HKO from CB Entei Flare Blitz, allowing it to Pain Split -> Volt Switch to weaken Entei and give you switch advantage.

If checking Mamoswine and Krookodile isn't a priority, this set can drop Will-O-Wisp in favour of Hidden Power Grass, and shift 16 EVs from Def to SpA, to act as an excellent lure for Swampert and Seismitoad. With Rotom's SpD EVs, defensive Swampert's Scald is not even a guaranteed 3HKO, while Rotom outspeeds and with 16 SpA EVs will 2HKO with HP Grass after Leftovers 90% of the time. Getting rid of bulky water/grounds greatly improves the potential of VoltTurn teams, and is also a massive boon to teammates such as Tyrantrum, Heliolisk and Zapdos.

It is important to note that Rotom-H is very much a team player - while it can cripple and weaken many opponents, often its best use is to provide a bulky pivot to a stronger attacker. This is why it is a dynamo - it is a momentum machine. It works especially well with strong Choice users such as Heracross, Mienshao, Kyurem, and Infernape. Also I would love to put an Assault Vest onto this pokemon if only Pain Split worked with it! But absolutely make sure you keep Stealth Rock off your side of the field because otherwise the potential of any Rotom-H set is greatly reduced.
