Project Other Metagames Community Create-a-Team

:hatterene: (57/90/95/29/103/136) Jolly

Hatterene hits like a truck. With her 136 base speed, she can outspeed an unboosted Flutter Mane. It's most powerful (and to be fair, only reliable) STAB is Play Rough, however it does have access to Psycho Cut, Shadow Claw, Facade, and Nuzzle. I run both Nuzzle and Psycho Cut on mine, and then Swords Dance to seal the deal. The biggest drawback is her inability to break through Steels, since she loses out on coverage from Mystical Fire.

:meloetta: (100/77/77/128/90/128) Naive

Though one-dimensional, Meloetta has a pretty interesting place in the metagame due to its immunity to Ghost moves, and with Tera being allowed as of this post, Fighting Tera Blast can easily stop a Kingambit trying to take advantage of its Dark weakness. It doesn't lose out on its 128 Special Attack, so Psychic/Psyshock and Tera Blast before terastelizing are still going to hit pretty hard, and it has coverage options in Shadow Ball, Focus Miss Blast, and, if needed, Grass Knot. It's a neat lategame sweeper that, with Choice Specs or Scarf, can pretty reliably clean up some kills. It can also Trick its Choice item off of it if it needs to.

Edit: I didn't know Flutter just got banned. Well, they're still good sets!

(link in 3d models)
DOUBLE CRAB CORE
A potent pair of prawns capable of firing off strong Water STABs.
:clawitzer:
Possibly the strongest special attacker in the tier that is also basically just a pivot bot. This Mon forces immediate pressure and if not respected can blow a hole through a teams defensive backbone.
:Crawdaunt:
Adaptability Surging Strikes breaks nigh everything in the tier, and knock off handles basically all the rest. A win condition with dragon dance and without, Jet Punch breaks through a lot of weak scarfers.

BOOMFISH or Basc in the Boom
https://pokepast.es/1f91214aecbbb9fc

Rillaboom and Basculegion Female make a great core of crazy strong chioced breakers, together they can both one shot any Ting Lu and two shot any Toxapex, and both sport powerful priority options. They work on rain, they work on bulky offense, they work on HO, a lot of pokemon work well with them softening up or even koing the best defensive mons in the tier.

Boom two shots every mon in the format who doesn't quad resist grass, and if you're worried about flower trick getting banned, ivy cudgel does almost as good most of the time and even better one eighth of the time, and it still avoids contact for beak blast and bulwark.

Basc breaks like crazy, water shuriken sometimes just kills a lot of popular leads like kleavor or lando t and gets really good chip in a pinch, and ghost stab hits a lot of good water resists really hard, it does 40 to AV pex and like 70-80 to phys def

These have been two of my favorite pokemon to play with, I love the crazy breakers in this tier and I hope yall do too!!

:landorus-therian: :latias:

I haven't played STABmons in a bit, but I kinda want to get back into it.

:landorus-therian: Landorus's job is to be fat, heal, get some Spikes up, and Burn stuff. Beak Blast is an amazing move, and can dismantle physical attackers. Spikes can do its job of spreading some hazards up, and overall just annoy the opponent. I don't think I have to explain Shore Up, and U-Turn is a pivot.

:latias: Latias's job is to be a fat set-up special attacker. I opted for a Take Heart set, and Esper Wing is to improve its speed. It can Recover when needed, and I find it to be a good mon to abuse the strong Special Psychic moves.

A certain someone yelled at me to do this so here I am...

:sv/weavile: + :sv/weezing-galar:

A simple core consisting of Weavile + Weezing-galar. While at first it might not look this these two have any synergy at all, these two can actually benefit a lot from each other. Choice banded Weavile is a terrifying wallbreaker with very few checks thanks to an extremely powerful Glacial Lance, essentially making top dog Toxapex the only reliable counter. Now, normally there is no way for Weavile to get past any Toxapex thanks to it healing with Regenerator repeatedly... so what if there was a way to stop that?

And that's where Weezing-Galar comes in, as it can repeatedly deny Toxapex of its precious recovery with Neutralizing Gas (Fair ability btw), allowing Weavile to quickly overwhelm it. Weezing-Galar also helps serve as a switch-in for some common revenge-killers, including Zamazenta and Urshifu-R, who could otherwise KO Weavile with no issues.

OM Community Create-A-Team 4 is finished!

:weavile: :weezing-galar: :slowking: :raging-bolt: :ting-lu: :skarmory:

Thank you to everyone for helping with the teambuilding event and to everyone who played in the tour! An extra big shout out to Slither Wing for providing the winning core, and to both Eli and sheepie_sheep1 for getting to finals with the team and landing in our CCAT Hall of Fame!

February's CCAT events will be announced in the coming days.

February CCAT EVENTS
exact times subject to change
Godly Gift, February 1st 5PM GMT
Leader's Choice, February 15th 9PM GMT
Partners in Crime, February 23rd, 5PM GMT

You may now start suggesting Godly Gift cores! Because of how Godly Gift works, your core must include a God and a receiver, and the stat being received must be in its nickname. For example, an Ogerpon-W receiving Attack must be nicknamed Attack.

Remember to :alomomola: love react any cores you'd like to see featured!

- Air Slash
- Fire Blast

Kyurem-White @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Turboblaze
Tera Type: Ice
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Ice Beam
- Freeze-Dry
- Earth Power

I will take no further questions

Attack (Zamazenta) @ Choice Band
Ability: Dauntless Shield
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Ice Fang

Necrozma-Dusk-Mane @ Leftovers
Ability: Prism Armor
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 132 SpD / 124 Spe
Careful Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Knock Off
- Sunsteel Strike
- Morning Sun

CB Zama hits hard as fuck and NDM is the best mon that gives it a hefty enough attack stat to consider running, while also not being a terrible pokemon (groudon, zekrom) or terrible to build with (caly-i, rayquaza) NDM sweeps after zama has torn through opposing walls (ev spread is to outspeed zac at +2 while being bulky enough in spdef to take on kyurem-w and other spa goons that like to revenge kill you)

Speed (Iron Hands) @ Booster Energy
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 36 HP / 220 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Drain Punch
- Ice Punch
- Thunder Punch

Arceus-Fairy @ Pixie Plate
Ability: Multitype
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 252 HP / 80 Def / 176 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Recover
- Judgment
- Calm Mind
- Earth Power

Iron Hands with speed and booster energy is extremely potent, outspeeding the whole unboosted metagame while still being able to sd. The value of Arceus-Fairy comes less from the mon itself and more from the types of teams it creates around itself, as Iron Hands benefits greatly from the Balance and BO structures Arceus-Fairy can make. However, in terms of Arceus-Fairy's actual set, it supports Iron Hands through its destructive special sweeping potential, as I find Arceus-Fairy is less of an endgame sweeper and can more or less find an in, cm up, ko something, recover, and switch, and the pressure it puts on defensive cores makes it all the easier for Iron Hands to finish them. They also, as a pair, have amazing type coverage and can usually take down eachother's checks.

Speed (Rhyperior) @ Loaded Dice
Ability: Solid Rock
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 200 HP / 252 Atk / 56 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Blast
- Swords Dance
- Rock Polish

Eternatus @ Power Herb
Ability: Pressure
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Meteor Beam
- Dynamax Cannon
- Fire Blast
- Recover

With the high speed support,Double Dance Rhyperior is pretty good.Rock+Ground coverage hit every pokemon hard in this metagame after a Swords Dance.Loaded Dice enables Rhyperior use Rock Blast as its more stable STAB move and offers a chance to defeat Dondozo(Dont use Stone Edge,it never hits).Tera Fire mainly provides the immunity of Will-O-Wisp.No words to Eternatus, its a good and standard special attacker and helps to damage many Rhyperior's checks.
(With a Rock Polish,56 Speed on Rhyperior can outspeed Lilligant-H under Sun)

Speed (Braviary-Hisui) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Hurricane
- Heat Wave
- Calm Mind / Roost

Zacian-Crowned @ Rusted Sword
Ability: Intrepid Sword
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Play Rough
- Close Combat
- Tera Blast
- Swords Dance

Hisuian Braviary is a devastating wallbreaker thanks to SFLO, but needs a Speed donation to have great effect. Zacian-C provides this while also benefitting from Hisuian Braviary's wallbreaking by cleaning up weakened teams. Calm Mind is better to threaten OHKOs or 2HKOs on the entire meta, but Roost gives Hisuian Braviary reliable recovery and shores up its Stealth Rock weakness. Tera Fire on Hisuian Braviary is used to power up Heat Wave and reduce its weakness to opposing Zacian-C, while Tera Blast Ground is used on Zacian-C as the combinaton of Play Rough and Close Combat hits the rest of the metagame well and Psychic Fangs is unnecessary with a Psychic-type wallbreaker on the team.

(56 Speed on Rhyperior to outspeed Lilligant-H under Sun)
I've been testing a team (https://pokepast.es/69d539f48aec7e8f) I built around this and I've found I like 88 spe on Rhyp to outspeed Kyurem-W pre boost

:hoopa-unbound: Defense @ Assault Vest
Ability: Magician
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 252 HP / 196 Def / 60 SpA
Quiet Nature
- Knock Off
- Psychic Noise
- Drain Punch
- Thunderbolt

:kyurem-white: literally any set
Kyurem-White @ Heavy-Duty Boots / Choice Item
Ability: Turboblaze
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Ice Beam
- Freeze-Dry
- Earth Power
- Substitute / Draco Meteor

AV Hoopa becomes infuriatingly bulky when given a Defense donation and a lot of investment, and Tera allows it to flip out of a lot of bad matchups. It's able to stick around for a long time and pivot into attacks. Its powerful Knocks help soften opposing teams up for a big breaker like Kyurem-White or Kyogre to start breaking big time.
