OU Mono: Make It Rain

Hey Smogon! I am new here, but have been playing on Showdown since Gen 5. I was not having luck at all in regular OU with my weather team, so I decided to alter it a bit for an OU Monotype team (where I thought that weather would fair better). The highest I have peaked with this team is the mid 1300s and I am looking to get higher. I would really like some suggestions to this team. So without further adieu:

Politoed @ Damp Rock
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Scald
- Toxic
- Protect
- Ice Beam

The only OU Pokemon that can set up Drizzle at the outset of the game. I chose Damp Rock obviously for the longest time for Rain. The moves are pretty standard for a Politoed set. Scald for the STAB and the chance to burn. Protect to avoid fake out at the beginning of the game, and ice beam to hit those flying and dragon types hard. The move that I am least attached too is toxic. It does help in certain situations but I feel there can be a better move there.

Gastrodon @ Leftovers
Ability: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Rain Dance
- Ice Beam
- Scald
- Earth Power

Gastrodon was not an original member on this team, but I kept on getting wrecked by electric types (the problem is that I still am). I needed another that could set up Rain Dance and Gastrodon seemed like a nice fit for that. Like previously mentioned for Politoed, Scald and Ice Beam are on this set for obvious reasons. Earth Power is really nice for most electric (that STAB is really nice), but it has some problems with Rotom-W and Thundurus.

Azumarill @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Play Rough
- Knock Off
- Waterfall
- Aqua Jet

This guy is seriously awesome in most instances. Having a Fairy on this team is great against the Dragons that I so often face. The move is a pretty standard set for Azumarill. Play Rough, Waterfall, and Aqua Jet gets STAB, and Knock Off is simply too good for a move to ignore. I chose Choice Band because most of the time with this Azumarill I used aqua jet. Combine the band, with Huge Power, STAB, and usually in the rain it is a deadly move.

Greninja @ Life Orb
Ability: Protean
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Scald
- Dark Pulse

Greninja is just too hard to ignore considering its ability. Protean really makes Greninja OP in my opinion. Greninja is usually my top sweeper. Since every move is STAB, it really doesn't need to be explained. I chose HP Fire for the times when I run into Steel monotypes. Do I think there can be better moves on Greninja? Yes, but so far Greninja is not the weak point on this team.

Keldeo @ Choice Specs
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Secret Sword
- Hidden Power [Flying]
- Icy Wind

Keldeo is another great sweeper. I chose Choice Specs for the 1.5x boost in Special Attack. Keldeo is usually faster than my opponents so it is great. I chose Hydro Pump over Scald or Surf because how much stronger that it is. I chose HP Flying because of all the fighting teams that I run into. Icy Wind is another great hit on Dragons and Flying. Secret Sword for the STAB, and with Specs make it even more powerful.

Manaphy @ Damp Rock
Ability: Hydration
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Rain Dance
- Tail Glow
- Scald
- Ice Beam

This little guy has proved more valuable that I have ever could have thought at the onset of this team. I liked to have a third member of this team to have Rain Dance, and it is a perfect fit with Manaphy considering it has Hydration. Tail Glow is really what makes Manaphy so OP. Even if my opponent resists water, scald (and a tail glow) still hits it pretty hard in the rain. Overall, Manaphy is one of the top performers on this team.

Thanks for taking the time to read this!

Some suggestions:
(don't really play monotypes that much so take 'em with a grain of salt):

-Politoed, if you want power try Hydro Pump instead of Scald. Not as much accuracy/no burn pales when you think of the raw power Hydro Pump in Rain offers.
-Politoed also gets several niche moves that you could replace Toxic with like Perish Song (if setup sweeping / walling is common in MT OU)

-Quagsire is a billion times better than Gastrodon at walling stuff in general, and gets Unaware/Haze as well. I recommend swapping out Gastro for Quag and taking it for a spin.
