Moltres-Galar @ Petaya Berry
Ability: Berserk
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Fiery Wrath
- Air Slash
- Agility

Why did they make all of these Gen 8 legendary movesets so shitty. Anyway, Galarian Moltres is able to take advantage of Substitute giving it free turns and bringing it down to Petaya range, allowing it to more freely run Air Slash

Sleep Talk Moltres-Galar

Moltres-Galar @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Berserk
EVs: 248 HP / 244 SpD / 16 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Fiery Wrath
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

This set is meant to tank some hits thanks to the combination of typing + natural bulk. This way, this Moltres is able to slowly boost its SpA while recharging its hp.
Nasty Plot is preferred over another coverage move because it can turn Moltres into a fearsome SpAttacker.

Moltres-Galar @ Salac Berry
Ability: Berserk
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Substitute
- Fiery Wrath
- Air Slash/Hurricane

SubSalac Goltres

Come in on something that knocks you below 50%, click Sub, then Salac and Berserk active and you sweep. Alternatively just come in on something that can’t touch you and setup with SubPlot. This is kind of an opportunistic set in that you take any chance you can to get both Berserk and Salac activated. Goltres is often not powerful or fast enough at only +1 for a full sweep, but can usually pressurise the opponent and get a few kills, and can often sweep properly like the Dual Dance variant if it can get up Nasty Plot. Everything else is pretty self-explanatory; Air Slash or Hurricane depending on your accuracy vs power preference, Fiery Wrath for reliable STAB. 252 EVs in Speed are required in order to outspeed Arctozolt in Hail at +1.

Moltres-Galar @ Choice Specs
Ability: Berserk
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hurricane
- Fiery Wrath
- U-Turn
- Air Slash

Its job is to click specs Hurricane, basically. Fiery Wrath is for whatever Hurricane doesn’t smack, and U-Turn is for Blissey and Tyranitar. Its movepool is disappointing (Galar moment) so the last slot went to Air Slash, for when accuracy is preferred over power. Otherwise just use… fucking Ancient Power, I guess. I prefer the speed tier of Timid but Modest is probably fine too.

Substitute Attacker

:ss/moltres-galar:
Moltres-Galar @ Leftovers / Sitrus Berry
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Ability: Berserk
Modest Nature
- Substitute
- Fiery Wrath
- Hurricane
- Nasty Plot

Substitute protects Moltres-Galar from status, and provides a temporary shield against direct attacks. This gives it opportunities to boost up with Nasty Plot, especially against Pokemon that have trouble breaking through. Since many of the tier's walls fit this description, this set can be used as a stallbreaker.

Since Moltres-Galar is fairly slow without Agility, Webs or paralysis support may be necessary against faster teams.

Discount Yveltal - Sucker Punch

Moltres-Galar @ Black Glasses

Ability: Berserk
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

Mild Nature
- Fiery Wrath
- Hurricane
- Sucker Punch
- Taunt
/ Nasty Plot / U-turn

this poor thing basically has no moves lol
the only interesting options to me were choice band (atk is trash though), choice scarf, a pathetic bulky set with snarl and assault vest.
taunt+uturn with boots is a cool, utility and boring option, plot+uturn and plot+taunt are lit but already taken so i had to search for something different.
moltres is only half decent on offensive team anyway, and, if mandibuzz failed a bulky set, surely moltres would and it'd be pointless, so i came up with a set that still fit the offense archetype and i turned moltres into a discount yveltal via the use of taunt and sucker punch, backed by black glasses, alongside the trusted dual stab of fiery wrath and hurricane. offensive teams usually struggle with pult and stuff, so this moltres is kind of a patch against those ghosts. sucker punch needs black glasses and a neutral nature to ohko blacephalon (that's how weak moltres' attack is) and can pick off weakened dragapults. taunt is instead used against defensive builds, blocking dangerous moves from switchins that moltres can't break through anyway. fiery wrath with black glasses and max special attack still hits sufficiently hard.
keep in mind, fiery wrath with black glasses goes up to 108 BP so it's basically hurricane: click the safer move boys and girls.

4 Atk Black Glasses Moltres-Galar Sucker Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Blacephalon: 264-312 (106.8 - 126.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
4 Atk Black Glasses Moltres-Galar Sucker Punch vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Dragapult: 204-240 (64.3 - 75.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Edit: plot and even U-turn are perfectly viable in the last slot

Cheap Shot (Endure / Sub Custap)

:ss/Moltres-Galar:

:Custap Berry: Moltres-Galar @ Custap Berry :Custap Berry:
Ability: Berserk
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Fiery Wrath
- Hurricane
- Endure / Substitute

:Moltres-Galar:

As SLDR pointed out this Walmart Yveltal has basically nothing going for it move-wise thanks to an extremely limited move pool aside from its STABs.
This is a set that has already seen usage in formats such as 1v1, but I thought the concept was interesting for the SSOU as Goltres typically doesn't see usage and it is widely unexpected. It utilizes its relative bulk to tank hits from would-be threats to set up and claim an easy and unexpected kill which can turn matchups on their heads in favor of other sweepers.

The EV spread is nothing exceptional, max SpA and Spe to hit everything as hard as possible and outspeed the occasional speed-tran, attempts to optimize bulk lose its speed and potential to sweep after it claims a kill.

Be weary that this set cannot come in on harder-hitting attackers like Tapu Koko or Victini after rocks, which it aims to kill/setup on once low. A switch into it from full can be surprising for your opponent which makes Custap such a nice addition to a mon with such limited potential in sets otherwise.

Endure is a viable option, as is Substitute. Substitute can allow you to activate your Custap against offensive switches and avoid status, while Endure is typically most useful and allows you to get Beserk and Custap in the same turn in situations where it might normally not. Additionally, it allows you to surprise RK a wide array of sweepers and tanks that teams may not be able to usually BS past.

Be mindful, this set hates Heatran since even its bulk and SpA boosting can't break Heatran, which means that it requires chip to kill from rocks and/or spikes.

[P.S.]

While this set offers less overall than other sweeper sets such as dual boost, the amount of turns required to set up and claim a kill is much less and it offers a niche surprise factor that clears an easy path for other sweepers on offensive teams.

Moltres-Galar @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Berserk
EVs: 164 HP / 252 SpA / 92 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Fiery Wrath
- Nasty Plot
- Agility
- Rest

This set aims to acrew multiple boosts using Moltres's natural bulk and useful shadow ball resistance, while healing off damage it has taken through Rest + Chesto Berry, While 252 special attack is self-explanatory, 92 speed allows it to outrun 95 base speed Choice scarfers after an Agility boost, While the rest goes to HP

Here is a replay from OLT of devin showcasing this set

Big Thank you to devin for providing me with this set and information about it :blobwizard:

:ss/moltres-galar:
Voting has concluded and the winner is Taunt + Sucker (discount yveltal) by SLDR! Congrats on winning cycle 59, your submission will be added to the hall of fame soon! Now let’s move to the next mon.

Cycle 60 - Mew
:ss/mew:

Mew is one of the most versatile mons out there right now whether that’s being a suicide lead on ho or a defensive juggernaut on stall builds. There are endless possibilities with a mon that can learn almost every move while boasting a solid 100 bst across the board. Although it’s most common set right now is definitely the cosmic power + wp policy set wrecking havoc in tour settings and ladder. But there are also countless under-explored that sets we can take a look at!

sd + 3 attacks with life orb

:ss/mew:
Mew @ Life Orb
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature

- Close Combat
- Psychic Fangs
- Sucker Punch

- Swords Dance

This :mew: set is great on hyper offense structures such as Aurora Veil or Dual Screens. Close Combat hits Steel-types like Heatran and Melmetal, Psychic Fangs is Mews STAB of choice and can break through opposing Screens. Sucker Punch is good for Pokemon like Dragapult, Blacephalon, and Gengar. Swords Dance is its boosting option and after it Mew can turn into a deadly lategame cleaner.

Dual Screens

:ss/mew:
Mew @ Light Clay
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Teleport / Flip Turn
- Knock Off / Taunt

Mew sets itself apart from other potential screen setters with access to Teleport, allowing it to slow-pivot out and bring in a sweeper. Knock Off is always nice to have, and can also threaten Dragapult. Taunt can be used instead to prevent most Defoggers from removing your screens, but if you do so, it may be a good idea to drop Teleport for Flip Turn to prevent Mew from being completely shut down by Taunt.

Now 100% more demonic
:ss/mew:
Mew @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Synchronise
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Cosmic Power
- Stored Power
- Body Press
- Rest

This is a variant of Cosmic Power sets that gives you more setup opportunities, since you can have a one-time full heal. Rest also covers the most important function of Taunt in protecting from Toxic from numerous Pokemon, meaning this set can afford Body Press to not be walled by Weavile and other Dark-types. Max HP is chosen because the extra bulk is useful to protect from critical hits while asleep. This set also has interesting interactions with the usually useless ability of Synchronise, since you can try to get statused before revealing Rest, spread poison to the opposing team then remove it by sleeping.
