OU Offensive Team (RMT)

So i decided to run an offenseive team based off of one person. Nasty MixApe. Here's how it turned out. CHANGES IN RED

-The Lead-
swampert.png

Swampert @ Leftovers
Ability: Torret
Nature: Relaxed
EVs: 240 HP 216 Def 52 SpA

Earthquake
Ice Beam
Surf
Stealth Rock

Okay i used to run Aerodactyl with this team, but i switched to Yanmega and am loving it so far.If they throw out an anti-lead then i Protect to get the Speed Boost. Then either do an effective/ Super Effective move against them or if theyre resistant to both then i Hypnosis and switch. Ive taken out Azelf, Metagross, Infernape, and Salamence leads with this thing. I have trouble with Abomasnow because i can only get 1 attack in before it Ice Shards or Blizzards me to 1 HP then the Hail finishs me off.

Ive switched Yanmega with a SR Swampert lead because my team usually needs a SR to assist in OKHO and 2HKOs. This Swampert can also help with Aerodactyl and Heatran leads, as well as Heatrans in general.

-Physical Sweeper and Status Absorber-
gyarados.png

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
Nature: Impish

EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

Waterfall
Stone Edge
Rest
Sleep Talk

My Physical sweeper. I decided not to go with CB because i wanted some options in attacks. In the beggining this thing has been alright. However its speed has been hurting since Bullet Punch wont be effective for everything. Ive considered switching him for someone else as a Physical Sweeper but i have no idea who?

Ive replaced Scizor with Gyarados because i needed a much bulkier Sweeper since as noted my team was rather frail. Gyarados has a STAB Waterfall that is devastating to those weak or neutral to it. Stone Edge can take care of Dragons or Zapdos that comes my way. Rest and Sleep Talk and used to absorb status attacks such as the common Thunder Wave and Spore.

-Special Sweeper-
latias.png

Latias @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Timid

EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

Calm Mind
Dagon Pulse
Surf
Recover

So i had Gengar here. But i didnt really need him so i put in Porygon-Z. With his high Special Attack and his adaptability and STAB Tri Attack this thing can tear through most anything. HP Fighting for Tyranitar and Dark Pulse for any ghosts were up against. This thing hasnt failed me yet. Ice beam is for more neutral coverage.

I needed a bulkier sweeper with more speed and bigger coverage. I decided it was between CM Latias and CS Latias but i decided that CM Latias would work better because i could increase my damage output and not be choiced to one move.

-Mixed Sweeper-
infernape.png

Infernape @ Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
Nature: Naive

EVs: SpA 252 Spe 192 AtK 64

Nasty Plot
Fire Blast
Close Combat
Grass Knot

This thing is a total Wall Breaker.Nasty Plot dramatically increases Fire Blast and Grass Knots power. Close combat for bulky Special Defense Walls. Grass Knot can whipe the floor with Swampert but requires Nasty Plot to OHKO Suicune. GK + NP= 2HKO a Gyarados (252/0)

-Steel and Dagon Killer-
magnezone.png

Magnezone @ Leftovers
Ability: Magnet Pull
Nature: Modest

172 HP / 252 SpA / 84 Spe

Magnet rise
Thunderbolt
Substitute
HP Ice

This thing is a great revenge killer, trapper, and Dragon slayer. Pursuit traps and Psychic type that opposes me that isnt Fight/Psychic. Ice Shard takes on those Speedier dragons im up against. Ice Punch OHKOs bulkier, slower dragons such as Dragonite. Brick Break is for Tyranitar and and Blissey.

So ive replaced Weavile for Gliscor here because i wanted some coverage against Electric types and i needed a taunter in case of status abusers. Not only can he Stall Break but he can scout with U-Turn as well as take out Psychic's with it.

Gliscor was doing nothing for my team so with the addition of Latias,i wanted a pokemon that would have synergy with both Gyara and Latias. Magnezone was here. I can trap Steels and wear them down to death and HP Ice allows me to take out and Dragon Problems i might have.
However i have considered using this EV set instead. 40 HP / 252 SpA / 216 Spe to out speed max speed adamant scizor.
-Rapid Spinner-
starmie.png

Starmie @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
Nature: Timid

EVs: 136 HP / 156 Def / 216 Spe

Rapid Spin
Surf
Thunder Bolt
Recover

This helps cover my Heatran and Infernape weakness. Surf covers both and it can OHKO Gengar and most Rotom-A. T-Bolt for when facing water types. Ice Beam is usually used for Dragons if my Weavile is already KOd. Trick to Choice any walls im up against or a SD Scizor stuck in SD.

Ive switched Starmie to a Rapid Spin set since i have a Heatran counter and i have a few pokemon weak to SR. This is the standard rapid spin set that is commonly used to well... rapid spin away SR, Spikes, T Spikes.

Well feel free to rate and change as help is greatly appreciated. You can change anything but Infernape since i love it as a MixApe.

well quick rate do not have hyper beam on porygon Z even if it does kill something it lets a sweeper come in and set up and do a lot of damage i would suggest changing hyper beam and HP fighting for BoltBeam which gives u much better coverage
srry its short hope i helped

On Porygon-Z, I'd replace Hyber Beam with Ice Beam or Thunderbolt. The 2 normal type attacks is redundant and having to stay in gives your opponent a free turn to kill you or set up.

I'd also give Starmie Trick over Psychic. Your coverage is already great with the Electric/Ice/Water and using Trick can hamper your opponent's walls which lets you sweep easier.

Life Orb is pretty bad on Scizor without Roost. If you really don't want Choice Band, I'd replace X-Scissor and Brick Break with Roost and Superpower. I'd also throw Roost on there. Your EVs would also need a change, but to what I'm not exactly sure.

Your team is ridiculously frail and after a couple switch ins, everything on your team can be KO'd by Bullet Punch or Extreme Speed. It would also be easily swept by a lot of Choice Scarfers after the SR/spikes damage. You also have no status absorber and because of the way your team works, you need every Pokemon available and on the top of their game to kill things before you go down.

I don't know what to do in the area of replacing Pokemon, but what I've said should show you what you could do to improve WITHOUT changing anything, which I really think this team needs some upgrades.

Yanmega is actually quite bulky on the physcial side, and with a small bit of investment it can take many physical hits. Change the EV spread to 104 Def, 252 SpA, 152 Spe. With this spread, after 1 speed boost you will be faster than base 130s (Aerodactyl, Jolteon), and after 2 you will be outspeeding Timid Scarf Gengar. The Defense EVs allow Yanmega to survive a +2 LO Extremespeed from Lucario and make Scizor's Bullet Punches a 3HKO on average.

Now you mention having some Heatran problems. I'll help you with this. Go for HP Ground over Hypnosis in the first slot on Yanmega as it will give the best coverage overall and Hypnosis is also unreliable due to the 60% accuracy. Yanmega is a frail user of Hypnosis even with the Defensive EV's and Yanmega cannot afford to miss. HP Ground allows you to hit Pokemon such as Heatran who you mentioned troubles you and Magnezone who wall the current set you are using.

Alright, you have two Stealth Rock weak Pokemon -- Weavile and Yanmega. I would consider making Starmie a Rapid Spinner as it will help increase the amount of times the aforementioned Pokemon can live longer as without Stealth Rock, Yanmega and Weavile will have an easier time sweeping. Take off Choice Specs from Starmie and add Leftovers with a moveset of Rapid Spin, Recover, Hydro Pump, Thunderbolt, 160 HP / 40 Def / 92 SpA / 216 Spe, Timid Nature. That EV spread was taken from lee's RMT so credit to him. This Starmie is much more durable then your current one, allowing it to deal with Heatran and Infernape more effectively, especilly since it now has a healing move with Recover.

As Sith Lord stated, Porygon-Z prefers Download on choiced sets. Since a lot of the time Tri Attack will not be the move you are using, you will want to boost the power of your other moves as much as possible too, especially since you're going to end up getting locked into them. Choice Specs Porygon-z still hits extremely hard with Tri Attack without the Adaptability boost, so consider using Download since you are not using Hyper Beam anymore. Good thing you changed it as taking that one turn to recharge after using Hyper Beam means a strong sweeper can come in and set up.

If you want more protecting against Heatran, I suggest dropping Weavile for a Pokemon that does relatively well against Heatran, such as Swampert. Since your team lacks Stealth Rock, Swampert can provide you with a Stealth Rock user while making a great Pokemon capable of handling Heatran. Stealth Rock is an excellent move to have on offensive teams such as this as it makes it easier for Infernape to get some key KOes. You are also quite Lucario weak since once it manages to set up an SD on a locked Pursuit from your Weavile, it has the potential to sweep your team. if you want a small fix to this, consider Vacumn Wave over CC on Infernape. if not, use Swampert as your lead over Yanmega and replace Yanmega with something like Gyarados who helps against Lucario and since you have a Rapid Spinner with Starmie ( assuming you make the changes I have suggested about Swampert and the like ), Gyarados will live much longer. Gyara will also help you even more with Infernape/Heatran.

If you decide to make this change, you lose your Pursuit user. Infernape loves having a Pursuit user to take out the likes of Starmie and Latias. So what you can do is make Scizor a Choice Band varient with Bullet Punch, U-turn, Superpower, Pursuit, 248 HP, 252 Attack, 8 Speed, Adamant, Choice Band. CB Scizor is highly effective at taking out the Pokemon that hurt Infernape like Latias and Starmie. Scizor can also weaken Pokemon like Gyarados with SR + U-turn, making it easier for Infernape to kill once it is worn down. Bullet Punch packs plenty of power allowing you to revenge kill threats like Salamence. You can also opt for a more Special Defensive version of Scizor to allow it to better switch-in on the likes of Starmie and Latias --- 240 HP, 100 Special Defense, 162 Attack works rather well.

Need a Heatran counter huh? How about you change....

Edit: I was in the midst of typing this when apparently Bloo beat me to it, in this case just read the second paragraphy. xD Bloo cut me to the quick

Well, I got an answer for ya without losing too much coverage as well as not changing too much of your team layout. First of all, Yanmega has issues with Steel types like Magnezone, Heatran and such that resist Bug Buzz. First of all, Yanmega needs to run HP Ground, that way when ScarfTran comes in and kills one of your team mates, you can switch to Yanmega, Protect first turn for Speed Boost, Hidden Power Ground for OHKO. Hypnosis is no longer as reliable in OU as it is now in UU. Rest Talkers like Gyarados can wall you nearly forever, so best to make them simply think you will use Hypnosis. Also, don't let Yanmega faint or lose its Sash to something you can't at least 2HKO, leads should be doing one of two things: setting up Stealth Rock, Trick Room, other entry hazards, etc, or shutting down and killing other leads. Yanmega as a lead is still outsped by faster Scarfed leads like Jirachi and then flinched and 2HKO'd by Iron Head. Use HP Ground, and Heatran can die early game before it realizes you have that move. If this doesn't work for you, Infernape can run Vacuum Wave for priority to OHKO Heatran after a Nasty Plot (which most of the time you can get). Heatran gets revenge killed when trying to revenge kill you. This makes Scarfed Pokemon frail to Fighting moves careful about trying to revenge kill something with Priority.

In case you are wondering why I didn't seem to notice Starmie as your Heatran counter, this is mainly because it takes good damage from Dragon Pulse from Scarftran, and is hurt quite a bit by Heatran every time it switches in. Starmie should ditch Trick (unless you are concerned about shutting down Blissey, who by the way can cause you grief either way) for Rapid Spin, this is because half your team hates entry hazards. Also make Starmie Modest (it doesn't need 541 Speed xD, 493 Speed is enough from Modest to outrun Base 100 +speed natured Scarfed Pokemon like Jirachi and Flygon by exactly 1 point). Modest makes a switch in to Surf by Rotom much harder to do each time he does. Overall, nice team, although it lacks a Taunter (perhaps, Weavile?) and a Status Sponge (Starmie is only so good against status inducers). Scizor is the only Pokemon you have with immunity to Toxic, WoW and Thunder Wave hit your entire team. Your team is also rather frail, I suggest having some bulkier sweepers or at least reliable walls. I suggest RestTalk Gyarados for all those reasons, he can sponge all the status thrown at your team (beat Blissey without Thunderbolt), present a decent Heatran counter, and can sweep and dent foes with Dragon Dance/Waterfall or Waterfall/Stone Edge. His Intimidate also lets your team more easily handle Dragon Dancers. Your team's frailty also calls for a phazer, there are few options that fit your team, so you might want to add some better type coverage. I'm not about to revamp your whole team, but you should take into account certain threats (Lucario and Empoleon for instance who can decimate your entire team when your members are weakened or disabled by Status), and base your team accordingly to not only have ways to beat them but also some balance. Your team is hyper-offensive to say the least, and this team is too frail to last very long. I recommend bulkier sweepers.

update
ive considered switching Weavile for a Trap Passer Umbreon or a StallBreaker Gliscor but so far not sure. can i get a list of good taunters?

thinking about switching Porygon z with a CM Latias. Any advice

First of all, I do suggest getting rid of Porygonz, and replacing him with Latias. But NOT with the Calm Mind set. In my experience, with Scizor, Weavile, Tyranitar, and the Rotom appliances running around everwhere, Latias never gets the chance to set up and reach it's potential. I also noticed that you don't have a Revenge Killer, which is desprately needed on your team to avoid sweeps from DDmence and DDgyara. Therefore, I suggest this:

Latias (F) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Surf
- Thunderbolt
- Trick

Draco Meteor will take down a +1 Speed Salamence, and Thunderbolt will do the same to a +1 Speed Gyarados. Surf is mostly filler but can be used to hit Heatran or Bulky Ground types for reliable Super Effective damage. Trick is pretty obvious; Use it to screw over Blissy and other walls. A Timid Nature is used to ensure Latias will outspeed Salamence after a Dragon Dance, which is a main point for this particualr Latias. Definitely give this set a chance, as it works wonders when used correctly.

I hope this helped!

yes it did thanks! ill edit my team as soon as my computer is back up(on dsi). i might replace gliscor since its not doing much and i might switch infernape to a lead ape and swampert to my mix sweeper. i would use rotom c but i dont have secret key.

update added Latias and Magnezone
