This is a team that I made originally because I really wanted to test out Latias and see what it could do in OU and have been pretty successful with.
The main synergy of this team is to work off of each others weaknesses and overwhelm the opponent with my power and awesome dance moves.
Heatran @ Shuca Berry
Ability: Flash Fire
Nature: Naive
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
- Earth Power
- Explosion
- Fire Blast
- Stealth Rock
Heatran sets up rocks very reliably thanks to its Shuca Berry (which imo is essential for any offensive team) and handles a lot of common leads pretty well (Azelf, Metagross, Scizor, Bronzong, etc). This man also provides tons of useful resistances for the team and can absorb fire attacks aimed at Scizor (though oftentimes switching to Heatran can be quite predicable). Heatran usually is not the first 'mon to die and I can bring it in later on slower 'mons and Explode for a free KO. When I'm faced against fast 'mons with Taunt like Aerodactyl, I'll usually switch to Scizor first turn because everyone expects LeadTran and not a ScarfTran now days. Most leads that aren't fire weak are able to setup entry hazards on me, but that doesn't matter too much considering only one of my 'mons is weak to Stealth Rock. Another cool thing; Only one of my 'mons is affected by Toxic Spikes and two are immune to Spikes.
Salamence @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
Nature: Mild
EVs: 84 Atk / 208 Spd / 216 SAtk
- Draco Meteor
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast
- Outrage
Salamence serves as my wall breaker and helps to absorb EQ's/take strong fighting attacks. Destroying punks like Skarmory/Blissey/Heatran can allow a bunch of my sweepers to run rampant late game. I was originally using the standard Dragon Dance set here but I realized I had way too many stat-uppers and I kept getting Roar/Whirlwind raped. Plus, this set helps a lot with stall teams which can be pretty annoying.
Empoleon @ Petaya Berry
Ability: Torrent
Nature: Modest
EVs: 12 HP / 232 Spd / 252 SAtk / 12 SDef
- Agility
- Grass Knot
- Substitute
- Surf
Provides some very nice resistances (11 of them ^~^) and come sometimes sweep if I can manage to setup properly. I'm really considering switching out one of my 'mons for something that can learn Toxic Spikes to give Empoleon some added support. Any suggestions for what to do here would be really appreciated, as right now my results with this guy have not been too good. Oh, and I've been running Grass Knot > Ice Beam because I think I already have dragons covered well enough and most of the time I can actually KO Salamence with Surf after Petaya and Torrent are activated and Salamence has taken SR damage.
Latias @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Timid
EVs: 148 HP / 252 Spd / 108 SAtk
- Calm Mind
- Dragon Pulse
- Recover
- Substitute
Latias is amazing to say the least. I can't tell you how many times I've KO'd around 3-4 mons with this thing. Calm Mind boosts its already high SAtk/SDef, and Substitute is very useful to stop status from stuff trying to out stall me. Recover makes it very annoying to KO and can help a lot to setup for a sweep. You'd think it would be pretty hard to sweep with just Dragon Pulse, but it is very easy to get 2-3 CMs up so even steel types that resist Dragon Pulse are going to be taking a lot of damage. The only things that really scare this Latios is Scizor and Tyranitar. Tyranitar is handled nicely by Scizor while Heatran can counter any Scizors (though CB U-turns are still difficult to counter >_>).
Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 184 HP / 252 Atk / 72 Spd
- Bullet Punch
- Pursuit
- Superpower
- U-turn
Scizor serves as my revenge killer and makes a great scout for counters with U-turn. Without Scizor stuff like Salamence and Tyranitar could essentially 6-0 my team after a Dragon Dance. Bullet Punch + Stealth Rock damage will KO Salamence though, unless it has some really bulky EV spread. Bullet Punch is also a great move to KO any frail sweepers such as Azelf, and it helps to handle some leads like Aerodactyl that can give my Heatran problems. Pursuit is great for trapping stuff that might try to run from me, and Superpower can be used to OHKO any predicted Heatran switches (though I only do this when I know they have a Heatran). U-turn's scouting uses goes without saying.
Kingdra @ Leftovers
Ability: Swift Swim
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 HP / 144 Atk / 112 Spd
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Substitute
- Waterfall
Standard Sub DD Kingdra. I'm pretty open to suggestions here, I've had two other 'mons in this slot already (Trick Scarf Rotom-w and Trick Scarf Starmie as revenge killers) but none of them have really been working out very well. I tried Kingdra in this slot because it has some really delicious resistances that help out my team a lot, but yeah. I'm not really feeling it hurr.
