OU RMT 1st Time Post Long time Listener..

Hello I have been traveling the smogon forums for prolly around the last 3-4 months and was around to witness the moving of Latias and Salamence to Ubers. Now I have been attempting to devise a team that gives me the best success. I tried using other peoples teams but clearly that was lame and didnt really work out seeing as I wasnt even good with there teams cause I knew nothing about them. So I formed my own team and I will try to get pictures in here but forgive me if I dont Iam new at posting. So here we go.

Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Serene Grace Jolly
252 Spe/ 212 Atk/ 44 HP
~Trick
~Stealth Rock
~Iron Head
~Fire Punch

I chose Jirachi as my lead for a few reasons. With the ability to trick a lead and cripple them off the getgo it is very handy to than setup stealth rock than switch to a counter of which they switch in. If they use a fire type move im movin to heatran/vaporeon to absorb. If they use a ground depending on the poke is what I than choose to do. I love Iron heading fools to get a 60% flinch rate. He is one of my main checks to Lucario and Tyranitar. I try my hardest to play him safely because he is useful mid to late game when players tend to throw out there blisseys and snorlax's to which point I can trick a handy dandy scarf on them and leave them helpless. He has many helpfull resistances such as his main dragon resistance which I love him ever so much for and his immunity to poison which is awesome when people try to toxic my poor vaporeon and thats a nono in my book.

Top Leads:

Azelf - Trick/Stealth Rock Switch to appropriate counter
Aerodactyl - Switch to Rotom Discharge down to Sash Discharge for Kill.
Machamp - Trick/ Iron head it to death Its not always the best but its what I got.
Jirachi - Fire punch as it tricks or switches if it switches out I switch to the appropriate counter.
Infernape - Switch to Heatran on Flareblitz/Overheat switch to rotom on Close Combat than Sub as it switches fearing HydroPump.
Ninjask - Trick and laugh.
Roserade - Switch to Machamp to take sleep and start talking in my sleep.
Swampert - I actually have a little trouble with him.. But I switch to rotom and Shadowball till It either dies or switches.
Metagross - Trick and treat accordingly.
Hippowodon - Trick and treat accordingly.

Heatran @ Leftovers
Flash Fire Timid
252 Spe/ 252 SpA/ 4 SpD
~Substitute
~Fire Blast
~Earth Power
~Toxic

Okie Dokie reasoning behind this poke? Well heck he isnt the anti metigame pokemon for no reason. I love subtran heatran. I was introduced to this set about a month ago and I just cant seem to stray away from it. I have tried a Rest, Sleep Talk, Roar, Lava plume variant but this isnt really a stall team.. Anyways. I chose this poke to deal with pesky Steel type pokemon and Grass pokes. Most of the time there going to switch out. So I sub they bring in a bulky water or Gyarados/Dragonite which I find silly but anyways I toxic them as they break the stall. Than switch to Vaporeon on the Water type move most the time and if its any varient of Gyarados I HP Elec it while it Taunts/Dragon Dances and I laugh as it wont kill me and I will kill it hehehe (evil laugh). If they are targeting me with a ground type move I go to either flygon/rotom/machamp. Usually they switch out and I deal with them accordingly. Overall I love heatran and his resistances and Immunity to poison and Fire help me greatly in the longrun.

Rotom-W @ Leftovers
Levitate Timid
252 Spe/ 252 SpA/ 4 SpD
~Substitute
~Hydro Pump
~Discharge
~Shadowball

Okay so having Jirachi and Heatran on my team I concluded a few things. I have 2 dragon resistances as well as a plethora of others.. I had a fire weakness which was instantly covered by heatran and I had a major ground and fighting weakness. Well.. <Insert Rotom form here> Seeing as he has levitate to dodge ground type moves and his ghost typing allows him to have an immunity to normal and fighting type moves I figured he would be a great choice. Also seeing as heatran attracts bulky waters why not switch in this guy on those pokes sub on the switch and when they most likely bring in a ghost or lucario I use the appropriate move. This guy is the reason why I get sleep at night when I think of Lucario. He is also another check to Tyranitar as well as Scizors tend to switch in on him but Im pretty sure from my battle experience that Discharge 2HKO him. Rotom also has a handy dandy electric resistance which comes in handy with vappy (hehe that rhymes.. I do it all the times! :O) Anyways his weaknesses are covered by Heatran and his dark type weakness that is usually targeted by pursuit users which is somewhat of a problem he also is bait to Crunch from Tyranitar and Lucario whom of which I switch in Machamp scare em off with the thought of a Dynamic punch while im really using Payback and send there ghosts and a rotom counter to hell and back.

Vaporeon_by_Shineymagic.jpg

Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Water Absorb Bold
252 HP/ 244 Def/ 12 Spe
~Wish
~Protect
~Surf
~Hidden Power Electric

Ahh Vaporeon. My favorite pokemon.. Well I figured I needed a little more fire resistance and seeing as heatran isnt really covered water wise I thought Id throw in a water Immunity. My main check to Gyarados and he also has been able with full HP to take a LO Starmie T Bolt and hit it with its own HP Electric than switch to flygon on the next tbolt and uturn for the kill. Starmie is also a common switch in to my heatran who is Toxiced alot of the time and for some reason even though it has natural cure tends to stay in when it sees pokemon like vaporeon and heatran in game knowing it has Hydropump and Thunderbolt. Vaporeon, Heatran, and Jirachia all have something in common that helps me though. A bullet punch/ Iron head resistance and an Ice resistance which helps me with my flygons ice weakness. He is one of my main checks to Infernape and he actually isnt to bad on Lucarios with surf suprisingly who Swords Dance on me thinking ima Wish when I Surf them down to about 45%. OHKO on a lucky crit. Overall he has to watch out for status. I dodge will-o-wisp with heatran. Toxic with heatran/jirachi. T Wave with Flygon. That also plays into the great synergy of my team.

Flygon @ Choice Scarf
Levitate Jolly
252 Spe/ 252 Atk/ 4 SpD
~Earthquake
~Outrage
~Thunderpunch
~U-Turn

What Flygon gives me is a few things that are quite nice to the team. His electric Immunity is helpful with Vaporeon. Levitate helps me with Heatran and Jirachi. He also has another Fire and Poison resistance that helps me out. He is my revenge killer and a big part of my team. The second I see a Dragonite I switch to this guy hoping to god he uses Dragon Dance which is usually the case when I have Jirachi and Heatran switch in. I outspeed 1 DDnite and OHKO with Outrage. He can also outrun a 1 DD Gyarados and OHKO with Thunderpunch. U-Turn for scouting as well as a big check for Shaymin and Starmie who do not like being U-Turned. Earthquake for revenging Infernapes and switching in on Jolteon/Jirachi Thunder bolt/punch. I also bring him in on Kingdra more than likely thinking hes going to Rain Dance. If he subs Im in trouble and go to Vaporeon and hope he doesnt have HP Elec/Grass. From which point I spam HP Electric.

Machamp @ Leftovers
No Guard Adamant
252 HP/ 252 Atk/ 4 SpD
~Payback
~Dynamic Punch
~Sleep Talk
~Rest

I chose the Sleep Talk variant of a bulky machamp to do a few things for me. One he is another check to Ghost/Dark pokemon who give me slack. He is a check to Snorlax/Blissey/Heatran/Tyranitar/Lucario. He is also my main status absorber being able to be put to sleep and still go down swinging. I absorb toxic/twave/will-o-wisp cause i rest it away. But his bulk is what I use to my advantage. I switch him on any move aside from a psychic/flying move which is covered by a few pokes on my team. I tend to like to bring him in on pokes weak to fighting so they switch out to there ghosts unexpectedly me predicting that and using payback to OHKO there ghost. He is also a switch in to dark moves being pointed at my Rotom. His abusing of Dynamic Punch comes in handy on Dragonites and Gyarados attempting to setup on me giving them a 100% Confuse and a 50% chance to attack.

Overall I have had good success with this team. Iam still attempting to get better at them. But on a synergy chart when Ground type moves are the only thing Iam weak to twice and only having two 4x weakness pokes to were ground I have immunities for and Ice I have 3 resistances too its pretty darn well covered. I also have Immunity to 7 different types of moves such as normal, fire, water, elec, poison, ground, and fighting. I will take any critisisms/critiques and poke changes/move set changes that would benefit as well as make my team better. Thank you for reading my post!

Stall looks pretty damn annoying to your team, especially with a core of Rotom-H, Blissey, Swampert can give you troubles. None of your Pokemon actually put the hurt on Swampert, other than heatran w/ toxic, who'll get worn down pretty swiftly with Substitute+Entry Hazards. Those that do handle Swampert (Rotom-W with Hydro Pump) are handled by Blissey, except maybe Machamp, who can be troubled by other Pokemon stall carries, say, Skarmory. I have a simple solution to this. Change Heatran to a Life Orb Variant, with a Timid Nature, 252Satk/4HP/252Spe, w/life Orb. Try a moveset of FireBlast/taunt/Hidden power Grass/Earth power. Crippling Gyarados switch-ins is fun and all, but you already have a decent check to them in Vaporeon/Flygon and dragonite is also handled by Flygon, hell you could get ballsy and taunt it from setting-up :P Anyway, Hidden power grass maims Swampert, Fire Blast wrecks Skarmory/Forretress/Rotom-A, and you beat Blissey 1-on-1 as you taunt it from using recovery and kill it with repeated Fireblasts.

Thats all i got, GL!

drop fire punch on jirachi and use Ice punch or U-turn. You can easily just Iron head BOTH Azelf and aerodactyl to have an 80% of preventing SR on you side of field. Jirachi switch in later to set-up SR again.

I personally use Flamethrower on Heatran cuz FB usually misses and will cause loses.

Flygon doesn't really need T-Punch since gyara is already checked by Vappy. But if you feel the extra is necessary use it. I'd rather use SE or FB.

Rest looks fine.

Hello,

As noted by others, you have offensive threats covered quite well, but your biggest weaknesses lies in opposing stall teams. There are a couple of minor suggestions I'd like to make, which might help you patch up this weakness.

First, the primary use of Toxic on Heatran is to cripple bulky waters such as Vaporeon and Suicune that normally switch in on it. I feel that you have these threats covered relatively well with Rotom-W, so I'd like for you to consider using Taunt over Toxic. Your Heatran set is currently walled by Blissey, and this change should help in limiting its attempts at walling you. Although Blissey is a free invitation for Machamp to switch in, keep in mind that competent stall teams will have a solid Machamp counter such as RestTalk Gyarados or Rotom-A; between switching and the use of entry hazards, you could very likely end up worn out without damaging anything significantly.

Also, it may be worthwhile to try out Pain Split somewhere on Rotom's set. Since you have Vaporeon to provide Water-typing presence, Hydro Pump may be a good option to replace. Substitute + Pain Split sets often cause a lot of trouble for stall teams, and Ghost-types like Gengar and Rotom are great users of them.

Good luck with your team!

Hey nickswan212 nice team you have like the above posters said this team has trouble playing against generic stall. I completely agree with LegendKiller about changing Heatrans set into Taunt/3 attack to help fight of stall and ko' Swampert. So I hope you consider that move set change. It may not seem like it but offensive Zapdos is a big threat for your team especially if they run HP Ice over HP Grass. Zapdos' safe/reliable switch in is against Machamp, Flygons Earthquake or Thunder punch or Vaporeons HP Electric. Once Zapdos is in play it can spam Thunderbolts and HP Ice Flygon. Thunderbolt 2hko's Machamp and Heatran while Zapdos also has the ability to Roost of damage.

Just a thought but using Colbur Berry Azelf instead of your current lead, this allows you to deal with the top leads more efficiently. Instead of Tricking your scarf you don't exactly prevent Stealth Rock's from play. While Azelf can Taunt slower leads and set up SR as well. Azelf also plays better against anti lead Machamp. While Jirachi tricks it gets hit by Dynamic Punch doing over half damage as well as confusion. You aren't instantly granted three - four flinches and not getting hit by Confusion one time this isn't a safe nor reliable method. As for Flygon I would suggest you use Stone Edge over Tpunch allowing you to switch into Zapdos' electric move and SE in return preventing a potential sweep. Vaporeon already has HP Electric for Gyarados.

Azelf @ Colbur Berry | Levitate
Jolly | 8 HP / 140 Atk / 144 SpD / 216 Spe (SpA : 29 IVs)
Taunt | Stealth Rock | U-turn | Explosion
---
Good Luck

Your team looks pretty solid all around. However, I think it would be worthwhile to point out the weakness to SDluke. It can come in on Vaporeon and set up a SD, then proceed to rip holes in your team with whatever HP it has left. (Even if it only has enough for four attacks, that's four kills). I would recommend a scarf Rotom-H to take care of it and revenge kill, assuming that you go with the coulber azlelf. Other than that, great team.

24 hour bump (Anything else I could possibly do?) Edit: If Iam going to run a Subsplit Variant should I just run a Gengar since hes faster and more powerful?
