OU rmt

Hello fellow pokemon fanatics (I think :O) This is my first Rmt on smogon.
This team has no name yet D:
Team building Process
When I was making this team I knew that I would need a spinner with all of the entry hazards in the metagame so I chose Tentacruel to function as a spinner.
073tentacruel.gif

Next I knew I would need a special wall to take thunderbolts and other special moves for the tentacruel so i chose Chansey
113.gif

Next I chose Celebi because, Nowadays in ou you never see it anymore and it can cause a huge problem to the opponent when they aren't expecting it Lead with it on a rain team and you can cripple anything on the other team (usually) with a t-wave
251.gif

Next I needed a pokemon to come in and easily revenge kill on the weaker pokemon so i chose A Choiced Haxorus
tumblr_lmg38daUhf1qjq19i.gif

Next I needed a Physical wall to take some hit for chansey or haxorus so i went with Scizor seeing how well it fuctions taking hits for haxorus or lucario
scizor_animated_by_mm2nd-d39d8sn.gif

Lastly I needed an effective sweeper who could set up early and late game so I chose Lucario to take care of the lack of fighting moves on this team.

---------------------------------------------------------------

The team

Tentacruel (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Rain Dish
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Toxic
- Rapid Spin
- Scald

Tentacruel works well as a spinner because you don't see it outside of rain teams very often anymore, people come in anticipating toxic spikes and you go for the sub and get the toxic or rapid spin potentionally causing major disruption.

Celebi @ Life Orb
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 232 HP / 240 SAtk / 36 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Thunder Wave
- Leaf Storm
- Earth Power
- Recover

Celebi Works well as a lead also, sometimes i switch the order of the team around. Celebi leads, something gets crippled and possibly k0d by leaf storm or ep

Haxorus (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 atk 252 spd 4 HP
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Dual Chop
- Superpower

Haxorus works well as a revenge killer coming in on the ko of the previous pokemon making them pay for their impudence > : D no... but seriously Haxorus comes in on a ferro or heatran stopping this team from working and out comes the superpower 1hkoing the mentioned pokeon easily.

Lucario (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Swords Dance
- ExtremeSpeed
- Bullet Punch
- Close Combat

Lucario gets the safe switch in late game, something going to be k0d, +2 swords dance then Extreme speed does around 50-60 percent usually, if it can get 2 swords dances off cc all the way, lucario also has adecent base speed.

Scizor (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
- U-turn
- Pursuit

A physical wall, Most people expect to see a swords dance coming off this thing and switch in to get the safe switch, thats when the cband comes in and deals good damage potentially k0ing next turn with priority moves.

Chansey (F) @ Eviolite
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
Hardy Nature
- Wish
- Softboiled
- Seismic Toss
- Toxic

Finnaly theres chansey, the special wall that works, with the evolite chansy is being seen more in 5th gen ou :) this thing come in to take a hit from a special attacker such as jolteon or ruencluies (is that how you spell it???) and wishes, then switches out to get back the health on one of your close to dead pokemon

THREAT LIST!!!
One of the main threats to this team is volcarnoa with the increase in sun and weather teams pokemon like celebi and scizor start working less well

Another threat is Gliscor, when that thing comes in i start getting worried it rips appart this team pretty well if its using an acro set.

CURRENTLY TESTING
Currently testing life orbed lucario,
Rotom - w over scizor
Skarmory over Tenta\
Changing dual shop to aqua tail

Well, one thing you can do is Haxorus EV's. He doesn't have any. You meant 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd, right? And Bold Nature over Hardy on Chansey.

Another thing I realized is that you have 3 physical sweepers. Haxorus, Scizor, and Lucario. If something like a Skarmory or Forretress comes along, you'll have some trouble. I suggest turning Lucario to a Special sweeper with Nasty Plot. It still gets priority Vacuum Wave.

The lucario set is working extremely well so far with about 75 percent win rate out of 8 battles, as opposed to 60 percent out of 8

why run dual chop on haxorus when u can go for a coverage move such as aqua tail or even x-scissor. dragonites dont threaten your haxorus anyway because it has mold breaker!

Your team has 3 pokemon weak to fire: Celebi/Lucario/Haxorus. Also you have two SDef walls in Tenta and Chansey i would suggest changing your Tenta to Skarmory as your team is not weak to Stealth Rocks so you dont need a spinner. As MeW said u have 3 physical attackers.
ill give a proper rate when i have time ! :)

Hey man nice team, hopefully my suggestions will help. First off, I think you should definitely do Adamant > Hasty nature on Lucario. The increased damage definitely shows and you have 2 priority moves on Lucario anyways, so a +Speed nature isn't necessary. Also use Life Orb over Leftovers. The damage output is definitely noticable and will help you grab some OHKO's you couldn't achieve with Leftovers. A couple people have stated this already, but you have 3 Pokemon weak to fire and 3 physical attackers. I definitely think you should use Rotom-W over Scizor. Rotom-W patches the fire weakness and is good special attacker. It also has pretty good synergy with Celebi. A Choice Specs set is probably the one you want to choose from since you already have a revenge killer. Like Mew said, if a Skarmory or Forretress comes in, you are going to have trouble getting past them, so a Specs Rotom-W will make sure to hit them hard.

503.png

Rotom-Wash @ Choice Specs
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 144 Spd / 252 SAtk / 112 HP
Modest Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Trick
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Fire]

The EVs in HP gives it a little bulk to take on resisted attacks better. Specs boosted Hydro Pump really does a lot and with all the Rain teams running around, you should be able to get it rain boosted from time to time. Hidden Power [Fire] is to crush Scizor and Ferrothorn. Ferrothorn is a known counter to Rotom-W so an HP Fire on the Ferrothorn switch will annihilate it. Trick is to mess with Chansey and Blissey and other walls giving you troubles. Hope I helped dude.

Thanks everyone im going to test out all of the suggestion as soon as i get a chance!! ^_^ Right now you can see what im testing at the bottom of the op.

bumping, still feel like I'm lacking something, another problem I have found with the current testing is lack of effectively dealing with other dragon types if haxorus gets killed. bascically i need an ice type.. or something maybe a kyruem? thoughts plz

Well, the Pokemon I think that I think will help your team handle other Dragons well while still keeping your team synergy might be a Life Orb Mamoswine. With its amazing Attack, average Speed and solid movepool, Mamoswine can easily take on Dragons, and can help you take on the genies.

Mamoswine.png

Mamoswine @ Life Orb Lv. 100 -- Snow Cloak
Nature: Adamant - EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Earthquake
Ice Shard
Stone Edge
Icicle Crash

Hi there,

Nice team, good use of sweepers with great offensive synergy. One thing I have noticed is as an offensive team, you really do look like you lack a source of hazards, which is essential on offensive teams. Often it can mean the difference between an OHKO, and a 2HKO, which is very important as your main sweepers, Lucario and Haxorus do not sport the bulk needed to take multiple hits. To help with this, I highly recommend you try out Stealth Rock > Earth Power on Celebi. This change provides you with the much needed hazards your team needs, while the only thing you really lose is being able to hit Magnezone / Heatran harder, which both of which are walled by Chansey. Celebi is also a great defensive pivot to many common attackers, so you will have no problem setting up Stealth Rock easily. While Stealth Rock on Chansey is an option, dual recovery is really helpful on such an offensive team. It means that you don't have to sacrifice Wish / Softboiled as you seem like you have a big reliance on Chansey to take hits.

Looking over your team, you do look like you have a weakness to offensive variants of Gliscor. It can easily switch in on your physical attackers such as Lucario and Scizor, as Lucario lacks Ice Punch. Celebi and Chansey are both outsped, while both fear the potential Acrobatics. While Haxorus can outspeed and revenge with prior damage, you're relying on Gliscor not having a Substitute up, which means something else needs to take a hit to get rid of Gliscor's Substitute. To help with this, I recommend you try out Ice Punch > Bullet Punch on Lucario. This allows you to hit Gliscor and Dragonite harder, while you still hit Lati@s just as hard as Crunch does. Losing Bullet Punch really isn't that much of a drawback, as Scizor and Celebi check Terrakion just fine. If you go with this change, you may feel that as a result of losing half your priority, Lucario lacks the speed among other common threats with an Adamant Nature. Adamant Gliscor in particular easily outspeeds Lucario, and can force a switch or set up continuous Substitutes predicting your switch. For this reason, I'd recommend you try out Jolly > Adamant on Lucario. With Swords Dance and Life Orb, there is really no need for an Adamant Nature, as there is practically nothing you miss a KO on with Adamant that you don't with Jolly. Jolly gives Lucario the extra speed it needs to outspeed opposing Adamant Gliscor, as well as also outspeeding Kyurem, Mamoswine, Hydreigon, Haxorus and offensive Heatran, all of which can beat Lucario when you run Adamant.

Sub Toxic variants of Gliscor also look annoying for you when Celebi is down. It can pretty easily out stall a lot of your team members, namely Lucario, Scizor, and even Haxorus if it switches in on Gliscor with a Substitute intact. It's a small change, but you could run 36 Speed EVs on Tentacruel to outspeed Sub Toxic variants of Gliscor and can Scald them, deterring Gliscor from setting up Substitutes and spreading Toxic status around your team.

Good luck with your team!

I guess I should update the team I need to actualy get on the computer and not this iPod... but for now look at what I'm testing :) the mamoswine looks appealing to me. what should I replace with it though ?

Hi!

This is quite an interesting team, but there are some changes to be made.

First of all, chansey really isn't that good on this team. This team is clearly focused on offense, and chansey doesn't help that at all. You also have no pokemon that know stealth rock. You could easily solve these two problems by replacing chansey with a specially defensive heatran. Heatran can learn stealth rock, has perfect synergy with celebi, and can absorb fire attacks aimed at lucario, celebi, and scizor.

At this point, you have three weaknesses to ground, 3 physical sweepers (assuming you use the original lucario set, which I would), no resistances to ground, and three effective revenge killers. Because of this, I would suggest replacing haxorus with latias. Latias has an immunity to ground types as well as perfect synergy with heatran. I would recommend the Sub/CM set because few people have a counter to it on their team.

Here are the sets.

485.png

Heatran @Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP, 248 Sp. Def, 8 Speed | Calm | Flash Fire
~Lava Plume
~Stealth Rock
~Hidden Power Ice / Earth Power
~Roar

This is a simple specially defensive heatran. It can tank many hits from the special side as well as set up stealth rock and phase dangerous sweepers. Either earth power or hidden power ice can be used for hitting fire types and other heatrans or dragon and ground types, respectively.

380.png

Latias @Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP, 248 Speed, 8 Sp. Atk | Levitate | Timid
~Dragon Pulse
~Calm Mind
~Substitute
~Recover

This is a simple Sub/CM set with recover. It has nearly unresisted STAB coverage. The EVs will outspeed base 108s. Substitute can block status which is very important for this set's success.

If you feel that you want immediate special power, then you can use latios over latias.

381.png

Latios @Choice Specs / Expert Belt / Life Orb
EVs: 252 Sp. Atk, 252 Speed, 4 HP | Levitate | Timid
~Draco Meteor / Dragon Pulse
~Psyshock / Thunderbolt
~Surf / Thunderbolt
~Hidden Power Fire / Thunderbolt

This is a standard Latios. One of those items can be chosen. The 4 moves are quite self explanatory. Thunderbolt can be used in place of any of the coverage moves.

To quote the Looney Tunes, that's all folks!

~KoB
