OU RMT

This is my first team that I'm going to have rated, so go ahead and be brutal. The key to this team I always thought was that everything (except the lead) has a safe switch in, that might actually benefit from them later. As such, much prediction has to be done using this team, and Im right 100% of the time when it's obvious, and maybe 33% when it isnt. Synergy is key!

I also cant do the pictures that are on all those other awesome RMTs, so dont expect any of those, but if someone would teach me how to do that stuff, I'm happy to learn

Aerodactyl (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Taunt
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
- Stone Edge

This is only a bit off the standard Aerodactyl lead. He is my favorite pokemon, and has had a spot on all my in game teams since R/B/Y. You probably noticed Toxic instead of the standard Earthquake/Ice Fang. This came more out of Shoddy experience than actual forethought. In the maybe 50 battles Ive tested this with, the most popular lead Ive seen was Swampert, and because I actually hate mudkip's entire line *shot*, I set up the rocks, then poison the thing. You'd be suprised how many "WTF"s Ive recieved due to that. Other than that, standard lead Aero.

Scizor (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/6 Def
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Roost
- Brick Break

The head sweeper on this team. I always saw potential in Scizor, and when Scizor got Technician in D/P but not Bullet Punch like my R/S/E buddy, Metagross, I was seriously pissed, but equally elated when it gained Bullet Punch in Pt.

Bullet Punch, because Iron Head sucks on him. U-Turn because it's an awesome attack concept, and even better, it comes with STAB. Roost, because if I call a switch right, late game he can get a free turn to heal off the Life Orb Damage, and Brick Breack because I got owned by a Reflect/Light Screen/Zap Cannon(I know, right?) Magnezone once and will not repeat that embarassment.

Heatran (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 6 Atk/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Flamethrower
- Explosion
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Earth Power

This guy has kept my Scizor alive way more than it should have been. This used to be Houndoom, but Heatran is just... better. There are a couple things off Standard, but not enough to really hurt more than help.

I choose Flamethrower over Fire Blast because I can usually call a Fire Fang/Flamethrower Salamence or Fire Punch/Flamethrower Dragonite purely on it choosing to come out and deal with Scizor and after Flash Fire kicks in, Flamethrower hits 142.5 before STAB. Hidden Power [Ice] because of the aforementioned dragons, and for the occasional Ground that tries to switch in that I call right. Explosion for the Swampert/other physical wall that escaped the Toxic. Great as a battle ender, too. Who doesn't like to dash an opponent's hopes all over a fresh pile of Heatran-go-Boom?

Gyarados (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Ice Fang/Bounce/Earthquake
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge

This is just flat out standard Gyarados. Usually switched in on a predicted Earthquake. I will try to get a Dragon Dance off, but if my scouting says it isnt going to happen, I'll go straight for the damage. There is an inner debate about Bounce, because there are already two Ice type attacks on this team and really nothing to deal with Machamps and other fighting types, and Earthquake purely because it's awesome.

Electivire (M) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Motor Drive
EVs: 162 Atk/160 Spd/188 SAtk
Mild nature (+SAtk, -Def)
- Thunderbolt
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Cross Chop

This probably failed attempt at a mixed Electivire covers Gyarados's main weakness and gets fast enough to out run +0 Jolly Aerodactyl if Motor Drive kicks in. I chose Earthquake over Flamethrower, because I just like Earthquake better, so yeah I'll probably change it if it gives Electivire better survivability/sweeping ability.

Togekiss (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP/106 Spd/152 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Roost
- Air Slash
- Aura Sphere/Tri Attack
- Thunder Wave

If I had to drop one of my team, it would probably be Togekiss... Togekiss is a cool pokemon, but it doesn't really synch well with my team. It kind of slows things down, and I dont really like that. Paraflinch is so awesome it doesn't need to be changed, but Tri Attack is an awesome attack, and even though it dosent cover the steels, I'd like to consider it. Can safely switch into Earthquake, but that's probably it's only merit. Im open to all ideas for replacements for Togekiss

Okay, let the criticizing begin!

Problems:

SD Lucario
DD Gyarados

How to fix:

This is a really original and excellent team, I like the lack of choice users to prevent set-ups, which is what makes this team unique. Sad to see this fall in the bottom page. First off lets start off with adressing Salamence. Its usually tough to get around it once it slips in one Dragon Dance (a possible switch in to Heatran thus forcing you to switch out). Since its hard to get around with, I highly recommend the standard CB Scizor. Why? The instant 1.5x boost it provides can sometimes help in the long run. When it comes in on Stealth Rock (thanks to the faster SR in the game) and Life Orb piling up, you can do 50%+ with Bullet Punch on with Scizor. The needed power also great when revenging guys like NP Azelf.

Now to get with the real issues here, Lucario can throw in one SD in front of Heatran or Electivire to force it to switch out. I mean you dont want to risk losing your life? The same goes for Gyarados, as it can switch in on Scizor and kill you. I will recommend Rotom over Togekiss, because it seems like a random member on the team.

Rotom-H
@ Leftovers
Timid Nature (Spe+ / Atk-)
252 HP / 44 Def / 212 Spe

- Overheat
- Thunderbolt
- Will-O-Wisp
- Shadow Ball

Custom EVs and moveset. Since this team revolves around less Choice user this would benefit it. OVerheat will smash and outpace Adamant Lucario. When faced with Jolly, Gyarados can become a great check now so dont worry about it. Thunderbolt will KO Gyarados and survive a +1 Waterfall. Will-O-Wisp provides a good check to Tyranitar switch ins. If it tries to score a DD, it is crippled by Will-O-Wisp. Shadow Ball is mostly filler. If this might be iffy for you, try Scarf set with Trick over Will-O-Wisp, although it may leave you a little exposed to Tyranitar.

As for other options go, Rock Slide over Stone Edge to grab those lucky flinch's on opposing Aerodactly leads. The needed accuracy is great. Go for Earthquake on Gyarados. Overall gl with this.

I wouldn't necessaryly put Rotom there, as you're still highly exposed to DDMence. The honestly simplest answer you can do is just add in a ScarfJirachi, who's main counter (Magnezone) is less common than Tyranitar for Rotom. The thing is, even if you do burn a Tyranitar, it'll get in a few Pursuits, putting you down to the point where a Jolly Lucario can easily finish you off and still have time for fucking with Gyarados. Jirachi will just outright simply try to revenge kill everything. They switch out? That's fine, more SR damage on the way in.
